Love that pic Celia. That would make a great conversation piece.
Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 14
It is fun. An old shipwreck we visited in Oregon.
Celia, Marcy posted her picture up there, but for your ease..lol...here's a direct link

Thanks for the compliments on my hair everybody! I'm loving it myself! I was shocked when I went to shampoo it and it's up so high! Dang! LOL
My hair is always at it's best when we vacation in swim in Bull Shoals Lake. I don't know what it is about the water, but my hair loves it! I don't think I ever said, but premature gray runs in my family too. So I color. I went yesterday and had a pro do it. I'll have to get a picture of the new color. The brown color is really close to my natural. But it's not my natural that grow out with the gray, it's dark, like my moms was 40 some odd years ago. They told me I could go for 4-5 MONTHS without having it re-touched? How will that be possible? I have to touch up the roots every 3 weeks. No way can I afford to have Trisha do it that often though. Not even 1 time a month can I afford. sigh
Tammy! It's nice to put a face with the chat! And yea, you definitely had a mullet...LOL
Mau, me? Talk? No way! LOL Teresa called me last night...and 152 min. later, we hung up LOL This was a two way conversation too!
Marcy, my mom has really dry skin too, but never used anything but a bar of soap, until recently. I've never been a bar of soap gal..LOL My mom is only 3 yrs older than you and Mau, but she's got a lot of wrinkles. A LOT. I've got the droopy eyelid syndrome going on. Just like great grandma and just like grandma and just like mom ;(
and 3 people post while I compose mine...LOL
Hi everyone! LOL Terry, that link ought to scare them awake, huh!!!
Well....I have plenty of wrinkles...sorry you can't see them....LOL! They are there! But I don't worry about them...cause I figure I earned EVERY single one of them!!! So I'm not giving them up!! And I don't worry much about how I look either. It's me...and if you don't like it...don't look at me...LOL!!! I just try to be happy....and get along in this world. I really think it will be the next one that will count.
Ok...off my soapbox.
DS is coming up today to pick up my computer and take it home to work on it. I probably won't see it again for a while. Butttttttt....he is supposed to bring me another computer to use, while he has mine.
He better!!! Or I will go buy a new one all by myself!
Is that called 'addicted'???????? I think so!!
You're right, Marcy, that is addicted! LOL And, no, it didn't scare us awake! I had a cat do that! LOL
I remember the pic now. Old age shows sometimes. ;-)
Good afternoon, all!!
Would you believe that Pau and I were at walleyworld by 8:30 a.m.?!!!! We needed to get the oil changed in my car and we wanted to get there ahead of the crowd, this being Saturday, plus we needed some groceries, too. Well, we are not going to have walleyworld change the oil in our car any more. I have used them before but I just barely went 3000 miles before my car was telling me I was low on oil. My car, though old, has never used oil, so it surprised me that it was low. I wondered if they had put enough oil in the last time. Anyway, we dropped the car off and went inside and did our shopping--found a red crepe myrtle for $5.00--and then went to pay for the oil change. They had changed the wiper blades--we told them not to because we had just had them changed a couple of weeks ago. We told them to change the air filter and they didn't. They didn't charge us for the wiper blades and they said they didn't have the right air filter for my car. We got home and Pau checked to see if they did in fact change the oil filter. He couldn't really tell but he had told them not to use a Fram and if they did indeed change the oil filter they put a Fram in. I think we will be finding another place to have the oil changed. Pau changes the oil in his truck but my car is more difficult to get to the different parts and Pau gets frustrated because he can't see good (just one eye) so it is worth it to pay someone to do my car. But we did get the groceries and I was thrilled to find a red crepe myrtle for $5.00 because I have been wanting one. We have two pink ones but I wanted a red one, too. I am going to (Pau is going to) put it in one of the lasagna beds we started in the back yard.
It is another beautiful sunshiney day--59º on our backporch a little bit ago. Supposed to be up to 70º by Monday and then cool off later in the week.
Yep, Terry, I can very well believe you and Teresa talked for 2 1/2 hours. No surprise to me at all!! LOL Oh, Pau's mother told me she heard on the news that Bull Shoals got about 8 inches of snow the other day! Glad it was there and not here.
Marcy, sure hope you get that computer fixed soon or at least get a "loner". We will miss you if you aren't able to post!!
So, pepper, you are riding Arabians? I've always heard they are high-spirited horses. I'm not familiar with Friesians. I'll have to "google" them and find out more about them.
I'll check in with you guys later.
Oh Mau, I hate shopping at Wallyworld, let alone letting them change the oil in my car. I bought a battery from them once. 6 yr. battery I believe it was. Yea right. I was lucky if it lasted 2. We have an Oil Wizard here in town. They charge the same as the dealership does, unless you get "full service". Which amounts to no more than them vacuuming the front floor of the car. I've also discovered that the Motorcraft oil works really good in my car. I get better gas mileage out it use it, and only Ford dealerships use it. Sorry you had such trouble with them. 8" in Bull Shoals?? Woohoo!! I know some people down there that are loving this then! Did I tell you that the family that owns the boat dock is from up here? About 45 miles away even! It's such a small world. LOL
Teresa and family went to FL over Christmas, so she had to tell me about all the mishaps and plain dumb people she had to deal with. For instance, they rented a car. In IL. Central time. 5pm and it was a 24 hour rental. FL is Eastern time. So she took it back, got lost and had them on the phone directing her, so she was about 20 minutes late. They were going to charge her for another day. She argued with them. They said that it really didn't matter, since she was more than 20 min. late, she was 1 hour and 20 min. late. She went round and round with them about the time difference and how she had rented it for 24 hours, yet they were going to charge her for a full day for the extra hour she lost entering into Eastern time. Finally she told them they would lose her business, and guess what? It finally dawned on them that she had had the car for only 24 hours and 20 minutes. Not the 25 hours and 20 minutes they kept telling her. Funny thing was that the manager said that he'd "never heard of such a thing"! The manager doesn't know that we have different time zones in the US? And the van they also rented? 2000 miles on it, they drove about 2 hours, probably not quite, and the tire went flat on a back road. Late Sat. afternoon. They drove all the way to FL on the doughnut. Because remember, they could only use who the car company said. Nobody's opened on Sun.
Well, John goes from me not being ready, to practically sticking the camera up my nose. He started off so far back, you couldn't see my hair. sigh. So here's me, camera almost up my nose, with my new hair color...
Edited for spelling error...

I meant to say, I had him get close up in the back so you could see the different shades in there. Otherwise, you couldn't see it.
Well, I like it even if the camera is "up your nose". LOL The color is great, too, but I never heard of a color lasting for 4 months--you would have 4 months worth of roots showing.
I don't know who Teresa rented the car from but it sounds like they were from "dumb-city". Who never heard of different time zones??!!!! DUH!!! At least she didn't have to pay the extra day. Why would she only need to rent a car for 24 hours if she was driving from IL to FL? How did she get around once she got to FL? Did they stay with relatives?
Do your folks have someone to check on their house in Bull Shoals to make sure the pipes didn't freeze, etc?
I just went outside to look around my flower beds. Try as hard as I may, I still can't get anything to bloom this time of year. LOL. I suppose I think my "wishful thinking" will make it happen.☺☺☺
Thanks Mau! I've never heard of not touching up the roots for 4 months either. Unless somebody out there doesn't have hair that grows. In 4 months, good grief, the out growth for me would almost down to my ears probably. Wouldn't that look good? And yes, I exaggerate, but the growth would be a lot. After a month, it's about an inch.
I probably shouldn't say who it was on here. It's a big name in rentals. Their oldest son wasn't going to be able to spend the 10 days down there. So she had looked into air fares and found $49 one way. She didn't buy then though. The next morning it had risen something like 250 bucks, but coming home was still $49. So she bought those and rented the car for him and his girlfriend to drive down, follow them. They also rented a van. In the van were Teresa, hubby, one of their daughters, daughters boyfriend, daughters son, Teresa and hubbies 9 yr old twins. So they were full. Hence the need for another car. She rented the car from a different place than the van, because she needed something 1 way and this was the only place she could find that rented one way. The airfare was for the oldest son and his girlfriend to come home. They ended up splitting up, because going at "only" 65MPH, it was going to take them a lot longer than a mere 24 hours to get there. So hubby stayed with the van, oldest boy and girlfriend got in the van, daughter and boyfriend and daughters son got in the car, twins stayed in the van. Did you get all that? LOL
Yes, they have somebody that keeps an eye on the place. Not sure how often they go inside though. These people are right across the street and I swear they must sit at the window and do nothing but stare over at the house! The water is turned off at the street anyway. So even is pipes did burst, there is no water in the lines. Dad drains them. Hot water heater is off also. I can imagine it's about 52º in there. Brrrr...
The snow is just too deep for me to see much of any thing that could possibly of bloomed in this hot weather..lol. You're what? 7b? I was 7a in TN and this month, nurseries start getting stock in. Things will blooming next month.
Marcy! I had a guy (Dan) come and take my wool area rugs to clean them. Under the big one, I had one of those thick rubbery pads you put down below. When we pulled it up, it left the marks, like how they have those dibbit like things? I tried mopping, but it didn't do a thing. So then I called Dan after I called my mom. Hers does the same thing and she always has meant to ask Dan, but always forgets. I knew waiting till Wed. when he brings them back, I would forget, so I called him. He's never heard of it. He suggested though, to use my wood floor cleaner and some double ought steel wool. Do you have wool area rugs, or even just area rugs with those pads under and has it done that to your floors? I used water based poly down here, parents were professionally done and they used oil. But they both do it.
Oh my, you girls had a few things happen today but I caught up easily.
I bought a new phone! Yea me. It has a better camera and won't shut off on me while I'm talking or anything! It came with a headset, car charger, case and USB cable.
Terry, your hair is very cute. I've always been a fan of curls.
Isn't it funny how airfares go up and down like that? I don't get it. When I travelled to Oregon, if I wanted to land in Portland, it was $345. But if I wanted to land in Keiser, which is 10 blocks from my brothers house, and 50 miles from Portland, it would have $1000.?!?!?!?! I still don't get it. They use the same technology to both places. Sheesh!
Am I the only one to only have a simple "pay as you go" phone? No frills, no camera...but wait! I couldn't afford one if I have to have my hair re-touched so often! And yes, pay as you go because I would use up the minutes in 10 days or less ☺
Thank you Celia! Those are my curls, no perm, no curling iron, no rollers, just my hair.
Could the difference in airfares be the difference in airports? I know it's cheaper to fly out of Midway rather than O'Hare...usually. O'Hare is the huge one, Midway is the smaller, yet still big airport. Also easier to get to, Midway that is.
I had to go and get sick at the worst time! I had this CRAMMED flat rate box come in from Florida I am trying to take care of!
Crammed with what, Tammy? Plants, flowers, seeds? Sounds like fun!! LOL
Airfares are crazy. I checked one time several years ago about the fares flying in to LAX and Orange County Airport (where my brother lives). The difference to Orange County was horrendous--I couldn't believe it. Silly airlines, anyway! :o((
Well, supper is about ready. Talk to you girls tomorrow. Have a good evening.
Mau
Tammy, was the box from a swap? Oh wait!! I think I know since you said Flordia. I know who it has to be from. lol
Mau, Arabians can be high-spirited but these are really well trained. So far I have only ridden 2 of them and one actually messed up my back. lol. She is short in every way and has a choppy stride. So she hurt some of my lower back muscles and I had to leave work early the next day so I wouldn't make it worse.
Here is a link to where I ride. If you go to the sales link and find Lucky, you will see the horse who I just mentioned above. Great horse all around but takes some getting used to. lol
www.sunnybrookarabians.com/
It was full of plants, bulbs, and seeds! LOL Not from a swap, just a kind and generous DGer that sent it to me for mere postage! And man did she ever cram that puppy full!!!
Hey all...thought I had posted on here today, but I don't see it? It is very hard to type on DS' laptop...which is what he left me. I am used to typing fast, and as of yet, can't do it here....so this will be short.
Terry. I only have cheap braided rugs on my kitchen floor...and since there is no finish on the wood, they don't stick....so I don't have that problem. I wish I could find some other rugs that I like...because these are unsafe....lol.
ok...this is driving me crazy...enough!!!
Have a good night everyone!!
Marcy, I'm not sure it's the finish that has anything to do with it. I'm wondering about humidity and the fact that where the pad was stuck, was in the highest traffic area. It pulled up easy enough, but still left all the dibbits. I have an expensive braided rug on our bedroom floor, but it didn't require a pad. Not that much traffic and it's held in place on 1 side with the bed. It's just doesn't move. I like Pottery Barn wool rugs and Ikea actually has some really nice wool rugs too. Check them out!
I don't think it's possible to type fast on a laptop. The keyboard is just screwy. You can plug your keyboard into it though. And your mouse.
I'm off to bed. Said I was going half an hour ago! Night all!
Night Marcy and Terry! Just waiting on meds to kick in here!
Good night, Ladies! Guess I'll be up by myself tongiht.
Good morning! It's snowing! That's a nice change from the snow we've been having. All that white instead of white.
And I have to drive in it. Again!
Bye, Ladies! Have a great day!
Good morning all! We're supposed to get a mix of rain and sleet, turning to all rain. So they say anyway. Thankfully, I don't have to drive in it!
I do really need to go get dressed though!
Why? I wouldn't if I didn't have to.
Trust me Celia, clothes are always put on late, and taken off when I take my shower anywhere from 5pm to 6pm. My mom always said "you never know who might show up at the door!'..LOL Now, if I could just get away without the over the shoulder harness, that would be wonderful☺
Good morning or rather Good afternoon--it's 10 after noon here.
Terry,I have a confession to make--I'm not dressed either. Still in my robe and gown. Pau went back to bed--his back is hurting and I have just been sitting here catching up on reading the threads and playing solitaire. I played hooky from church today--:o(( --no particular reason--I was just too lazy to get up and get dressed.
I think it may have been raining a little. I wasn't aware of it but when I looked out the window there are puddles on the driveway.
Celia, you are so funny: "white instead of white" LOL!! Have a good afternoon at work!
I'm feeling guilty about being a lazybones so I'm going to go get dressed. Somehow, being dressed doesn't make me feel lazy!! LOL
Talk to y'all later.
Mau
Well, it took me a minute to figure out what the "over the shoulder harness" is, Terry, but finally it dawned on me. DUH I'd like to do without it, too, but I suppose it is a necessary evil for us females. LOL
Yea but remember the time they saluted the sun?
You and Celia are both full of it this morning!! Y'all could go on tour as comedians and call your act the. . .oh well, never mind---it wasn't that funny.
I'm still not dressed but I'm going now. . .
I couldn't say if it was funny or not, since you didn't say it. It's always worked that way. You have to say it in order for me or us to know.☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
See, I told you that this was your day for being funny!! ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
LOL. You guys are having too much fun on here today.
I can't wait til 5pm now! Super Bowl will be on and I'm gonna watch it. hehehe. Not a big football fan but every once in awhile I will watch it. I'm more interested in the commercials and the half-time show. I can't remember who's singing tonight either.
We won't be watching the Super Bowl. Pau and I are not big sports fans. (Do you believe this man used to own a race car and, in fact, drove it himself--with one eye!!) In fact, I had forgotten that today was Super Bowl Sunday. I don't even know who is playing. LOL
I am having trouble with my mouse today so if it dies, it might be tomorrow before I get back online. I don't want to go to walleyworld to buy a mouse today.
Y'all enjoy your football watching!!
Here's the proof that he had a race car.
Wow! He's lucky to be alive. I have seen wrecks that weren't as bad as his at the races with worse long term damage. He's very, very lucky.
Tell me about it! He was at home for six months before he could go back to work. Thank goodness he owned his own business and had a foreman who could keep the jobs running. It truly was a spectacular wreck--people in the local racing field talked about it for months! He left the race track--there was a problem with the steering on the car-- and flipped end-over-end several times, hitting upside down then flipping over again. He flipped over a barbed wire fence and landed right side up in a cow pasture. He had a right frontal lobe sub-dural hematoma with a mid-line shift. The next morning the doctor told me he had never seen an injury like that go down as fast as Pau's did. That's the power of prayer, folks!! You are correct, pepper, when you say Pau is lucky to be alive. We certainly know Who to thank for that!
Well, I am signing off for today. Too much trouble with the mouse. :o((
Y'all have a good evening and enjoy the Super Bowl!
Oh my! Now that would be scary to watch when it's your husband. I'd of fainted dead away. Thank goodness he's somewhat normal now LOL BTW, Really NICE trailer Pau has there!!
NO Super Bowl watching to be going on here. I don't much care for football. John works on Sundays, so he's not banned to our bedroom to watch it..LOL
Yeah, I wouldn't mind having that trailer! lol
