Game Predictions

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I figured that's what you'd prefer.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I'm voting for men and women - let's keep this wholesome.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Always standing up for values, Al. I respect that about you.

Amherst, NH

OOPS!
I watched and believed all the talking heads on ESPN and thought the Pack was back. At least the Pats held up their end,
although they didn't dominate like they were supposed to. I
still have to pick them in SB so here goes;
Pats 33 - Giants 27
Patriots score 4 defensive TD's and a safety, plus a 99-yard
field goal, (all new NFL records) and the Giant's kicker hits on
9 of 27 field goals, (also a new NFL record)
After the game Tom Brady announces he's retiring from football
and devoting his life to the 'Tom Brady NFL Players With Scandal Addiction Rehab Center', a problem that has become dear to his heart after seeing the agony that great players like
Randy Moss, Pacman Jones, and Don Shula have endured.
Oh, that's right, Shula has Alzhiemers. But look for Roger Clemens to become an honorary member.
I really hate to see the NFL season come to an end, but I'm sure
there'll be plenty of offseason accusations and courtroom drama
to keep us going until training camp opens.
The Pro Bowl can be a hazardous scene as Patriots RB Robert
Edwards learned a few years ago when he ruined his knee in a
Pro Bowl Week beach volleyball game and never made it back to his previous success, in fact he almost lost his leg below the knee due to disrupted blood flow.
Good memories from the Pro Bowl.
Go Pats!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Some bold predictions there, drzz! Will the Pats videotape the Giants? Maybe their cheerleaders? Do they even have cheerleaders??

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

No cheerlearders for the Giants. The media already provides more diversions than the Giants and their fans can handle.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good point, Weeze!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Victor, wthat are cheerleaders? Thought that was for high school girls that have nothing better to do.

In any case, I say go Patriots, and hope Brady will be better next game, he was not himself the last one, but it showa it is the team that coumts not just one man

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hi Maria! Nice to see you posting. Yes - some pro teams have the cheerleaders too. Only in this case it's for the fans who have nothing better to do!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Victor, ha ha, you are so right, won't get me out there, never even watch a whole game just peek whrn the Patriots are playing and always thrilled who ever beats the d...Yankies, lol lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ha ha - I am a Mets fan! The last time I was at a football game was when the Jets still played at Shea stadium.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Maria, Hello! Picking on my Yankees?

Victor, you a Nets fan too? Queens,NY had that rhyme theme going with the sports teams. Remember the tennis team: The Lets. Along with Mets, Nets & Jets.
To my memory, Chicago is the only other city with theme sports nicknames. Bears-Bulls, Bears- Cubs. Are there others I'm missing?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Nobody tried that rhyming stuff with the Long Island Ducks, thankfully.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Funny Pirl! No, Dave - Knicks and Rangers round it out.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Strange as it may seem to you, I never heard of Baseball nor Football till I came to this country only knew Soccer , what we actuall call 'football' in Europe, plus Ice hockey
Boston in those days had two teams, the Red Socks and the Braves. I think the Boston Patriots became to be known as New England Patriots much later.

My Husband played all these games as a student this attrbuted to surgery on his knees and suffered pain off and on with them all his life. He taught me with great patience while watching the games in Boston, no television then.

I assked him one day not to take me to a hockey game again, too much blood on the ice, grrr

To this day I am a fan of them all though mostly cheer for them without having to watch the game every minute. One of our sons moved to New York City and became a Yanky Fan, his father called him a traitor, lol lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I am not really into hockey myself, Maria. Funny about your 'traitor' son!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I voting for the Pats to win...not a football fan but DBIL is holding a gun to my head as I type.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll call 911 if you like.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

pixie, Patriots have to lose sooner or later, now what is this with Brady's foot in a cast? He played awful the last time

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

OK..he switched the gun to a cup of coffee..i'll live at least!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Depends on the coffee.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Dunkin Donuts, it's the only kind he'd give up the gun for.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I always have a couple bags on hand in case of emergencies like this.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Brady went to enemy territory... so not right... he went to see his hot brazilian girlfriend... can't believe he goes for pretty models only... well at least Gisele is a smart business woman in Brazil... she is actually rich and smart with her money!

maybe the cast is a decoy - to make the giants think he is not going to be his best... ahh... the only thing is that I hope nobody mug him in NYC...lol...or bump into his supposed hurt foot!!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

LOL Kassia, don't know anything about Brady's personal life, all that is news to me

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Giselle is much prettier than Tom. But what enemy territory are you talking about? He seems to stay in the NE....very NE. Cast and all , which I do think is a BBSA tactic.. I'll bet my best hydrangea against your best rose........game on..lol

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

I'm not surprised Tom Brady goes for models, as he is the male model type himself. I've never seen one of his Stetson commercials on the air here in Maine but someone on another board posted a link to one for me. Evidently they play them in Texas, lol. I guess I had given him undeserved brownie points for not being plastered all over the TV like the Mannings...bad me.

All I can say is go Pats!!!!!!

I think I'll be nauseous if it ends up being a really close game. Sports are too stressful if you actually care who wins!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

The interesting thing about Brady's cast was that he had it on in the a.m., but not in the p.m. Press says that it's nothing.

Anyone have any comments on LT's sideline sulking?

Amherst, NH

Are you axing me to diss on LT, Sue? I thought Ebonics was taboo in this century. Seriously, if Lt was a real team player he would have played hurt like his QB and Gates did, not go into a
shell, hiding behind his faceshield and sitting on the bench like a third stringer. He always has a lot to say at press conferences
when surrounded by his buddies, but he got beaten so badly in
game 2 by the Pats that he couldn't face them for another beating so soon. What do you expect from a guy who won't play
in the pre-season for fear of getting a boo-boo. Maybe his teammates should refuse to play in the exhibition games as well
and show him up for what he really is, a snivelling whiner, or do
I mean weiner? You may have noticed that the cream of the NFL
playoff teams are from the Northeast. Can it be that adverse
weather creates tougher players? (It definitely produces tougher
gardeners)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I hope the Pats win and accomplish something that may never be done again, and a bonus would be to shut up the '72 Dolphins. So tired of Mercury Morris' endless speeches. The Giants have done well down the end of the season and I think it will be a close stressful finger biting game.
Lt maybe couldn't play, I don't fault him for that but to sit there behind his dark visor and not even seem interested in his team and not giving them encouragement or at least a waydago every now and then, very self absorbed I think.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

I agree with both of you and, yes, we are a tough bunch!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Adverse weather not working in Detroit, Chicago,Buffalo, Minnesota

Amherst, NH

Check out Davesfootballblog.com for some insightful literary
nuggets of fan support for Mercury Morris's comments on New
England's possible undefeated season.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Can't find it - where on the blog is it?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I couldn't find it there, drzz.

By the way, are you a sleep doctor?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

great squirrel commercial on daves football.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Didn't see that either.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

You Tube has a few good squirrel videos - one for beer that's very funny.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

They are having a free big send off today 11am at Foxboro stadium, oops I mean Gillette. I would go over there if I had kids at home still, should be fun. Go Pats! You can watch on tv if you want to stay warm.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

I just watched it - short, but sweet! Brady was walking fine. Seau must have though he was a preacher this morning - he got the crowd fired up!
