What's it doing in your neighborhood today???

Victoria Harbour, ON

No 'snowday' must leave for work shortly..snowing lightly and in Toronto they'll not get the amount of snow as predicted..so much for weather forecast..still hoping for a bit of freezing rain Fri. am though..would love a 3 day weekend...

So, thought I'd look at garden pictures and dream of what the melting of snow will bring back..small area in my back yard...so do want spring..

Sorry, I look at all your lovely photo's of flowers taken up close..I'm going to get into a routine to do same this year so I may share their beauty..

Made it in, snow is starting to fall more heavily..could I ask to go home hearly..lol..that 100 mile trip home is a killer at times...

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Snow here. Started around supper time, 12 to 15 cm forecast.
Nice summery pictures Betty,.Love your pond area. very neat idea with the picture frame.

Blyth, ON(Zone 5b)

Oh Betty, don't apologize for posting landscape shots. Many of us seem to neglect to do this (me included), so people never get to see the context of our gardens.

Snow3 squalls forecast for here today. Not enough to keep us home or send us home from work early - just enough to make it miserable and yucky! Hope the rest of you are getting a break from it for a change.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ginny, long trip in to the city today..black ice, -29 with windchill factor when I left home this morning..so cold!

Tomorrow a few flurries, Friday though they are calling for about 10 cm so maybe I'll get that snowday yet?

Thanks for the nice comments re yard...don't know why I never think of taking pictures of just the flowers so you've all got me thinking about which I'll take this spring/summer... lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can't wait to be sitting in this little corner of another garden..

This spring I want to focus in making this little area under the trees more usable..i.e. canvas type roof to serve as protection..little rain falls in between the masses of trees, but just enough that you can't stay out when it's raining...any ideas?

Must think spring to take away the winter blues..

It's a cold one here, almost broke the 1938 record..car didn't let me down..lol..so it's a nice day to sit here and play..sun coming through the office window, everyone running around busy/busy except me so I just might take out my knitting..family business, sometimes I think I'm here just to look good..lol..

What marvellous weather, better not count my chickens before they are hatched, but this will be the first week I've not shovelled, and the first full week that we work the entire week (no storms)!

Hope weather is breaking in your neck of the woods..

Will have to go on the lookout shortly at nurseries for some of those lovely plants you posted...I've received so many plants/seeds from family and friends to start me off and of course church bazaar plant sale but they are basically common varieties one sees all the time, now I need some 'beauties'

White Lake, ON(Zone 4b)

Hey, Betty, do you have a bigger version of that last pic you posted? For some reason, it's still thumbnail size. Let me say again, your painted chairs are awesome!

Glad you are at home playing. Very cold but bright morning here. Sun is more intense this time of the year, isn't it ..... so we can feel spring is just around the corner.

Sandy, I do have one at home, will post for you..I work in Toronto so it's about 100 mile trek each morning..not at home..wish I was..lol..

Nice garden, Lots of beautiful colors. I like the idea of the mesh wire trellis. I'm growing a lot of vines for this summer, I think, that's something I'm gonna do. Thanks for the idea.

Had a Sunny, but very crisp day today, and they're announcing very cold for the next few days. Then more snow.

My indoor seed starting setup, It's very cramped in here. My wintersowing is half way done. I'm anxiously looking forward to spring.

You are so very organized..I've so many seeds to start, seems early to me with this much snow, can't imagine that it would be planting time in a few months..lol

the photo was towards the end of the season..this year I'll start the vines earlier so no part of the mesh will be seen...

You can see by all the posting of gardens that we are all going back into our photo archives dreaming of what was last year and what will be this year...even dear 'Missy' takes time in her busy schedule to 'smell the flowers'

I've a zillion ideas roaming this brain of main..lol

It is extremely cold out there this morning, even Sailor hesitated going out...they are calling for snow moving in this morning in the city..hopefully with only working 4 hrs. we'll be out of there before it arrives...

That's why I started my vines now, because I had the same problem as you last year. And I wanted some new variety, which, I heard take a long time to flower. My first time with Corkscrew vine and Coral vine.

Sure hope your snow doesn't start before you get home.
after it leaves you, it start heading our way.
At 8:30 this morning , it was -25,we are expecting snow for tomorrow. I'll have to enjoy the Sun today, even if it's cold, gloomy days are coming again.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Burn, at least with the beginning of March tomorrow we know we're on the downslide..not snowing here as yet, no blue sky though, but that's ok..keep looking at all the snow at home and sure am hoping there will be no flooding..

I'll take note of the 2 vines you mentioned so I can plant this year..
Received heirloom seeds for vine called 'Saddie's beans' ..quick growing as well, lovely orange flowers..if you'd like a few please let me know..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Went to check out vines and found this link posted by jpplunket...a must see if you are a vine lover..

That was neat Betty, Thanks for the link. Interesting how the plan sways to reach a support.

I think I'll take you up on that. Would you like something in trade for them? I have a list up.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Blizzard conditions reached our area this afternoon..family taking me out for supper tonight but lordy how I'd love to stay home and them all come here..lol...

Will send some out ...

White Lake, ON(Zone 4b)

That wouldn't happen to be a birthday supper, would it? lol Holy smokes, you can't cook supper on your birthday if the family is offering! Enjoy.

Sandy

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, yes it was a birthday supper and to my amazement they had arranged quite a function at a local restaurant...it was blizzard conditions and many from the city couldn't make it (brothers/sister) so I'm yet to have another on Monday night..like this getting spoilt..

Mega gifts..boys got me a GSP so must to the mall this morning to spend those birthday $$$$

Still snowing , thought they said it would stop near midnight...they lied..

Here's what I woke up to this morning...such a pretty picture...

Agedgardener, how much did you guys get? Seem like quit a lot too form you pic.
We received about 1foot, between yesterday and today. The wind picked up around noon we have big drifts . But I think Bathurst and Miramichi areas, were suppose to be hardest hit. The sun is out now, but still windy.

Pretty flowers Betty. Must be nice, to get up to something like that. Has the snow stop your way?

BTW thanks for sending the seeds, so nice of you.. Did some more containers today, in hope Spring will show up someday.LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Took a drive today was girlfriends to Meaford shopping (as if I haven't done enough of that in this past week) lol
Roads were dry, sun shinning and you could feel spring in the air..well at least until 3pm when temps fell rapidly..

Agedgardener, OMG and more to come..guess the sooner we get it the sooner it will be behind us...wow, that's almost a storm every 2 days in March..hmmm..hope not in my part of the world..&^^%&**

Victoria Harbour, ON

Must have had some freezing rain last night, just got a call from Suzanne, we'll wait an hour or so for the sanders to pass...went out earlier to start my vehicle and was nothing but glare ice, must be mild though, no ice on vehicle windows...

Came downstairs and passing through the family room, 'Missy' found more flowers to smell..wouldn't be bad if only she'd stop eating them..the ones on dining room table have quite a few petals missing..lol..oh well..
