Just heard on the news this morning that we are breaking having the 2nd highest snowfall ever recorded and if it continues as it surely will we might break the all time record..isn't it fun being part of record breaking record...NOT..lol
Roads were clear until I was about 10kl from city and then it was snowing and everyone taking their time..clear out there now so should be a nice trip home this aft.
Barrie hospital closed their doors yesterday..hardly any of the staff could get in, so what staff was already at the hospital had to stay...think it's a first I've heard of anyone doing that...
Fun and games, in our region they are calling for more tomorrow and another weather system dropping in on Tuesday..
What's it doing in your neighborhood today???
A storm blew thru here this morning and after a few nice 'balmy' days ( up to single minus diugits and I think there was at least one day in the plus digits) so back to -20 and a miserable cold wind - no idea what the wind chills are plus it is a good time to stay inside!
OMG! Your snowy pictures are making me feel like putting on a second pair of socks!!!!
My crocuses are up...... Get that snow away from me!! LOL!!!
Your crosuses are up? B-b-b-but it's only February! Holy moly I wanna be there!
Sandy
LOL sanannie! I'll take a pic and post it tomorrow. It's too dark right now. LOL! February is normal crocus time around these parts! ;-)
Snowing here AGAIN, and more snow and high winds for tomorrow. I wanna be there too! The sad part is, I can still remember what it was like to actually live there :-(
More cloud and flurries for Ottawa. We get sun on Monday (after the Winterlude weekend) and cold temps to match.

I can see Vancouver Island slowly sinking into the ocean as we all start migrating west...LOL. 'Tis my dream to live on the Island for sure; but my DH is worried he'd eventually run out of roads to ride his motorcycle on.
It's -29C here this morning, -39C with windchill. Brrrr. But I'm going to mess around in my plant room today; get my orchids set up on humidity trays and maybe get my Datura, Foxy Fox Glove, and Snail Vine seeds germinating...
Stay warm and safe everybody!
Joanne

Nice and sunny today. Not so good forecast, for tomorrow. Snow storm 25 to 30 cm.
Teresa, I wish I could, I wish I could, I wish I could....... join you. NO didn't work. (wishful thinking)
Joanne, my corkscrew has sprouted, they're making their true leaves now.... Didn't plant my Datura yet, but I think I will start them now.
D****** cold here!
woaaaaaaaaaaah color of Sunshine

Ahhhhhhhh,........ thanks, I needed that!
Sandy
-46C with wind chill here. Sunny and bright but while it looks great, tis a delusion.
Strictly OT.. Last night saw a great chickflick.
Notting Hill with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. No spoilers but a cute movie.

Snow
We're getting the promised windy conditions today - blowing around the little bit of snow that is falling. Nasty and cold.
Here in Mississauga we'll have blowing snow this evening. Wind 50 - 70K per hr. Low -16. Wind chill -29.
We don't get over one blast before we get another.
Thos daffys sure look welcoming.
I turned out to be a very pleasant day here in Ottawa, today. At least I think so. I was stuck inside at the National Arts Centre for two Ottawa symphony orchestra rehearsals. 2 hours for dinner in between during which time we DID walk through and admire the ice sculptures for Winterlude. By the time we headed back for the 6-9 pm rehearsal, it was quite windy and getting cold.
Supposed to be cold tomorrow. The plus side of the day today, was that there's a really good, and cheap pressure car wash in the NAC parking garage. My car had 8 hours to drip off and the roads were nice and dry on the way home. :-) Sometimes the orads are so sloppy and salty that there's no point in washing a car.

Stay in, stay warm and please stay safe!
Housebound yesterday due to blizzard conditions but did enjoy playing and accomplishing and finishing some stained glass projects..so not all was lost..
This morning is -30 calling for yet more blizzard conditions..but it's off to the city..no call from boss saying 'stay home'..can't blame him, we've not had full weeks since early Dec.
Morning check in. -31C with wind chill its -43C right now. Drat. Could be a better way to start a new week.

warming up in Calgary - offical at the moment is -4C, supposed to go about 0C later -supposed to be like this for a few days then back down again.
Got to the city 1 1/2 hrs. late for work, better than not making it I guess..not sure if it's light snow or just the coldness creating the illusion but it sure was cold..my fingertips are still numb...
I keep being positive with thinking there might only be 5 or 6 weeks left but boy it's still a long time coming..
I believe the winter of '08 will stay in our memories for some years to come. Wonder if we'll be back to a spring like winer next year. I hope not - just want a happy medium where the plants are protected also.
Think we've now broken the 2nd greatest amount of snow fallen in one year and are close to breaking the #1 spot. It's snowing here in the city, although temps are high in the office it seems with all these windows that the winds just come through the panes, so brought in my trusted mini-heater to keep me warm
Not very pleasant here either. Snow yesterday, and snow and wind today. Started the day of with -6 without the wind factor. Suppose to go down to -11 tonight. Even the birds didn't like this weather today, most of them stayed in.
It's Chinookin' here; +2C last time I checked...
Sending warm thoughts to you guys out there... Ü
whooo hooo and climbing all week :) Don't forget to save your snow Grow-Jo and Fooly friends.
Will it ever end...sitting here at my office window watching it come down heavily..was listening to the news, said it's the first time in about 10-15 yrs. well since they called in the army to remove snow from streets that they are out today removing snow from all the side streets and have a snow compound..imagine...
Boss just dropped in from a meeting, so hoped he'd say stay another hour or so and leave for home but no go...oh well..we'll just take our time travelling the 400N tonight..
Please stay in, be safe and warm..
Warm here today & snowing. Not quite chinookish (Lethbridge -2C) We are at -13C with windchill making it -22C. Very warm actually. Overdressed and had to come back in to shed a couple of layers and put on a different coat.
Spring is on the way.

Inanda..better move to your neck of the woods..snowing like crazy here..if the winds come up..watch out...was hoping to leave early but boss hasn't given us the 'get home while you can' nod so just watching the PRETTY snow falling...very very cold as well...
Sounds like a good night to stay in town. Before next winter you might want to form a relationship with a nearby hotel/motel for times like this. Thats what we did for some very bad nights. Luckily we had in-laws living with us so didn't have to worry about kiddos/animals.
inanda aka.......
I have a son that has a home probably about 10 minutes from where I work..having animals makes it difficult and we (SIL and 2 nieces and another BIL) who all live up north seem to like it in our own beds..lol..but next year I just might if we are still located in the city..
Left at 4 tonight, stormy in the city - 1/2 way home roads weren't too bad..arrived up north and it's blizzard time again..
Was just laughing to myself..3 Wednesday's in a row I haven't been able to make it in due to bad weather..think I could make a 4th...let's hope
Do have a nice evening...
Betty
Wednesdays off would be a good trend Betty.
Wind chill warnings here today, present temp -28°C, feels like -38°C. Sounds real cold, but I have to go out and check on the ferals anyway and make sure they are comfortable. Can't wait for warmer temps. At least -15°C would be balmy.
Stay safe and warm everybody. (well, everybody that lives in winterland)
Snowing!
OMG it's SUNSHINE outside...enjoyable ride in..imagine..let's hope it the 1st of many to come...tomorrow is suppose to be much the same however, they are calling for some squawls within our region on Friday..Friday off would be good considering as well that our new "Heritage Day" is Monday and it will be a long weekend..so let's hope for 4 days off..lots I could do to entertain myself..lol
Stopped snowing - momentarily. We got 15 new cm of snow yesterday evening/overnight. Supposed to be more snow this afternoon, flurries tonight, just cloudy tomorrow, with snow showers and flurries Friday, and I think continuing through the weekend too.
Reminds me of a post I made last year in February when I was asked about the weather - "Snow...more snow...snow again...oh, what a surprise - more snow!" :-)
You know, I miss Lilypon with her weather info that she used to post. You can see the weather network etc etc but they crunch everything into little sound bites. Come back Pam.
