Wow.....wonder whats up? Maybe the winds is effecting everything!!
What do you miss during the winter? Part 2
See my post on the scat thread too - dmails have been weird as well!
Al - my best wishes to your FIL
I worked on my gardening blues by taking cuttings of my coleus, begonia and fuschia today from the cuttings I rooted in the fall.
I got the Oakes catalogue yesterday and read it over coffee this am.......boy oh boy....
Same here Al - sorry I missed that earlier in the thread.
I have a Hyacinth I forced in bloom next to me now, and it smells oh so good. And the first forced tulip has opened. Makes today's 6 degrees feel better.
I forced the paperwhites this year. I won't do that again. They stunk and flopped over real fast. I do have a primrose that greats me every time I go into the living room.
I only did Paperwhites once....they were to strong to be in the house.
Same experience (long ago) with those paperwhites. They were just mentioned on the Fragrant Flowers thread in the NE forum. I think everyone is tempted the first time and only those who can take the "scent" do it again.
I knew I would not like it so I never tried them inside.
I did them last year too, and they did stink.
Missed this thread somehow. I also am sorry to hear of your FIL Al. Best wishes from here. On this maybe coldest day of the winter I just miss growing things poking out of the ground. Here is one for Pixie, 'Sunset Pride'. It was supposed to be a spider but I grabbed a fan from the wrong side of the bed at local DL farm Tranquil Lake.
251 views and lots of photos.
Louise, I tried growing kitchen herbs, but they kept getting spider mite. I especially tried to keep the rosemary healthy because it smelled soooo good. No such luck.
Sue, nope, don't order take-out all winter. Why?
Victor, I put 'blue billow' on my wish list. It's gorgeous! Love the blue fish Celeste!
Cool! Wow - that's a big tank.
I had one of those once!! Tetra's too, but kitty got into the tank one night. Funny, he leaves my Betta alone.
We have two of those Sherrie. One weighs about a pound and the other sleeps upside down on top of the water, but it is not dead!
Maybe originally from the southern hemisphere??
No, you poke it and it wakes up. Maybe it has problems, but it's done this for a while now.
That's pretty funny. I'd like to see a video of that.
My videos aren't great - I'll get a before and after pic tomorrow.
on "skip to new", Al's 5:36 post was the 1st.
i had to scroll up to remember what was being discussed...
Hey, Amy! Get your mind outta da gutter! LOL
Makes my post right after it pretty funny too.
Did I miss something? What does "skip to new" mean?
It brings you to the first post after the one you last saw in the thread.
That is funny!
still waiting for the before and after pics?
For the projection class?? Always helpful to look bigger.
Not true with mirrors at home though.
hahahaha.
That is weird! Freak him out and hold a mirror over him.
