The porch is 75 degrees right now with 45% humidity.
Your FIL doesn't have to worry about the sun in his eyes, Al.
Harper - it would be a nice feeling but it's just too crowded with plants. More have to go or I have to stop trying to save so many over winter.
WC - Tarzan? My Tarzan is reading with Boy (Harry) nearby.
What do you miss during the winter? Part 2
The paper boy must have a really hard time Al! ☺
There is a road in between there. FIL is having a bad winter with a heart attack and just had stints put in. Weather is the least of his worries.
Sorry to hear that, hope he gets better!
Thanks, Harper. Now I feel jungle-less.
Al, best wishes for a full and quick recovery for your FIL.
Wow! It looks like the dog can't find a place to sit! Looks 'cozy' though. ☺
Looks tropical Harper.
Could be a rough go for my FIL, he has a pacemaker already. Thanks for the wishes.
WC, the dog has a little bed right at the foot of the sliding glass door. His favorite spot when he's not under my feet.
Al, sorry to hear about your FIL.
Al - my FIL had a pacemaker installed and asked us for years when they'd be removing "the timer".
Wow - impressive, Harper! Healthy place to hang.
Victor, Both beautiful but the two different hue's of blue on the Hydrangea is very soothing for me. Red is for fire, or passion....hmm, Valentine's is coming up so it's a great color for this time of year! Thank you for both!!
You're welcome! That hydrangea is one of my favorite plants in my garden. The photo does not even do it justice.
victor, do you know the name of that lacecap. It is stunning - nice picture too.
Lovely photos, Victor.
Songs - it's H. serrata 'Blue Billow'. Thanks to both of you.
Harper - what mess? Love your kitchen jungle!! I think it would lend itself to culinary inspirations!
Al - best of luck to your FIL....hope all goes well!
Victor - beautiful hydrangea. Will it grow in zone 4/5?
Louise, I was just going to ask Victor the same question....i'll await his answer.
Sorry - this one is rated at z6.
It figures, story of my life....zone envy.
major bummer!!!
Well I checked a number of sites and they are split - about half say z6 and half say z5. So if you want to chance it...
If you're willing to protect it in the winter with leaves or whatever, you can improve your odds.
I mulch my lilies, hydrandea, azalea, rose of sharon, ect. but I won't try anything above a 5. I'd say 9 out of 10 times that I tried, I should of just planted my $$ in the hole instead.
Well this is 5 or 6, depending on what you believe. DG has it as 5. Fairweather, where I bought it, has it as 6.
Your trying to tempt me aren't you?
Hee hee - just trying to provide info.
Harper, do you order take-out all winter?
Aside from the thought that it's beautiful?
Lets hope it really looks like that when it blooms!
I really like purples and pinks. Way too many oranges and yellows.
Ha ha. You never met a DL you didn't like, right?
Actually im not fond of spiders or doubles...I like very, very few. I don't ever say this over on the lily forum....i'd get flogged!

Always thought Siloam Miss Muffet should have been a spider!
'Siloam Double Classic' is one of the doubles I do own.
