Thanks. Lots of what is considered blue is more a shade of lavender but I like it anyhow.

I know I always get confused - I see the captions say blue flower but to me it looks purple LOL Oh well!!!!

Thanks. I was trying to get that hellebore against an overcast sky. Came out blurry but I loved the kaleidoscope effect.

No I took that with my old Coolpix 995 which could swivel, so I could look down at the display as the lens was pointed up.

Lots of nice shots that would look great in a calendar!! Winter's not so bad when we get to look at each other's flowers here!

We planted two "Yellow Wing" hibiscus in our new peanut shaped bed in the front yard, along with 3 magenta periwinkles today. Then I moved 8 big orange impatiens plants and replaced them with hot pink impatiens in the front of the house to pick up the hot pink in the red ti plants. The orange had become too dominant, so they got moved to a place that needs some color. HD had a great sale yesterday on their hibiscus......really healthy, good size plants with lots of buds for $3.88 each. Yippee! I bought another Painted Lady and the two Yellow Wings. Photos to come at some point soon.

Gorgeous, everyone! I love Love In A Mist - I just let them self-sow around the yard. They're so pretty, I don't mind them being anywhere particular!

Wow, that's one nasty looking beetle, WC! Look at those antennae.

It was 2½" long not including the antennae.

- I think it would have eaten this predator at only ¼" in my cold frame/ shade frame. (wolf spider) ☺

Can't blame you there, I don't miss them either. Reminds me to update the epi-pen before they awaken!

Harper - they stay around and slow their metabolism to nothing. They'll find some shelter - a log, a rock or something. Frogs are amazing. They can actually freeze solid and survive. They have an anti-freeze-like compound in their blood.

Celeste - me too! I have a two-pack.

Eeeew, get out! Really? So if I got a pet frog and couldn't take care of him while I went on vacation, I could just let the freezer babysit?

Not sure about that! I don't think all species have that ability.

Nope you'd need an a Alaskan or Nor'Easter Frog for that.
