ooo...debilu. have you been to Rob's Violet Barn??
Spring RU
I actually haven't head of it, but will have to check it out now!
The Fingerlakes are lovely, but would require DH, DD#2 and maybe #1, depending on how this growing up business works out, a motel and a weekend. None of which means it wouldn't be wonderful and possible. We often spend a few days upstate in June, but we're not doing that this year. xxx, Carrie
I just checked the Violet Barn website and instantly recognized that view of the lake. I've probably driven by it and not noticed...
I feel dumb...lol...I've been so excited about the "what have you bought so far" and the "spring blooms" that I really haven't been paying attention to any of the other threads. Yes, Paul and I would head up there. Kassia, how far from the finger lakes are you? and how far from Ithaca are you?
For those who don't know...fingerlakes=winery tours. Also, downtown Ithaca is home to The Moosewood Lodge...any who aren't familiar with Moosewood, this is the eating place of all things vegetarian, the owners of Moosewood have produced several veggie cookbooks...and...Ithaca also has a pretty nice sized farmers market...homemade baskets, soaps, cutting boards, organic veggie stalls...
I'm excited already, and it's not even April...lol
Thom, I think there are 2 different RUs being discussed. Kassia lives outside of Boston. Maybe a half hour beyond our Danielson RU.
Thom, it's probably my fault for talking about the Fingerlakes. But it sounds like some would be interested - and the Fingerlakes are beautiful in Fall too...
I thought the Finger Lakes was being discussed for the future, not this spring. Correct?
I'm confused.
Right Victor, Spring = Kassia
Ok...I'll go to any and all RU's...just someone let me know definitively the who's and the what's it's and we'll be there...lol.
So, is there a Finger lakes RU being discussed somewhere? That one I could probably attend.
Not really - I think it just came up as a possibility for the future. The only way I would be able to make that would be a weekend getaway with the family.
Isn't that "weekend getaway" what got you in the pokey in the first place?
LOL
Not at liberty to discuss that.
ROFLOL
I'm so glad so many of us will be coming to Kassia's RU! It will be so great to meet everyone at last!!
i hope i can come - my schedule is so variable that late June seems very very far away.
i still keep hoping we could get some smaller groups together sooner than that. Thoughts?
The Barlett Arboreteum in Stamford is nice, and i think free. i think there is one at Conn College, in New London, too.
Okay, Harper there is a brug with your name on it. Thom, if you come to the round up, I will bring a couple of brugs for you as well:-)
Woohoo. Ok...so June 28th, Kassia's home...time? and, since it a bit of a hike, this will definitely be mini-vacay time. Any nice/budget hotels/motels in the area?
Thom, you and Paul can stay at my place if it is on your way, then we can drive to Kassia's from here. :-)
Well, I know I don't participate too much in the threads, but I'd like to join you. Trust me, I have nothing so interesting to contribute. I tried to make the last one at Logee's but it didn't work out at the last minute.
Thanks, Kassia for the opportunity!
LoraB.
June 28th, huh?
Anna and I would LOVE to be there.
Perhaps we could always plan on "The Birthday of the Roses" in the springtime at Kassia's (or somewhere nearby), and then the Finger Lakes or Ticonderoga region of NY for an Autumn RU.
That woud be great, and thank you way, way, waaaayyy in advance!!!
oh I am so excited already!!!!!! I miss you guys! really cool!!!!
lora, please come! It will be great to meet you!!!!
Thom, you and Paul better come!!!! I am counting on... maybe after you see some roses you might want some more...
Victor bring the boys if you can... and yes, I will have tons of orange roses blooming just for you!!!! lol!!!!
Candice and Anna... I want to see you both here!!!!!
Michaela, you know the address... no excuse... you better show up....
Dave 47.... you better come too....
actually I am waiting for everyone to come....I miss you guys... oh my family is all happy... and the boys already know... and this year I have to have a cake... my nephew Victor told me that I was a bad rose mom last year because I did not have a cake for the roses... so I guess I will need to get one this year!
I will edit the first post so we can all have a final count!!!!
If I forget anyone's name please let me know!!!!
Kassia - you can count me and my DH in also. What time are you thinking? You are so generous to have us all come to your house!! Thank you! I can't wait!
I would like to try, have to figure how far away you are, and where to stay, etc.
If I forget anyone's name please let me know!!!!
Kassia, I'm planning on coming! Too fun to miss!
o no.
i have become invisible again.
i say things, and they just vanish into thin air...
sniffle.
You can't be invisible - I see you, amethystsm!
I'll try. June 28 might conflict with one of our band concerts (they haven't announced the dates yet) but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Bring your instrument if the band isn't booked :-) If others bring their instruments, maybe we could have an impromtu jam session!
Just read this thread...I won't be able to attend, but I'm looking forward to seeing some pics!!
i intend to attend, but it depends on my schedule which changes a lot.
i would love to try to gather some people closer at hand sooner than June - might anyone be interested? Or not interested?
cough. sniffle. i am sick and grouchy.
Well, I am trying to organize a pj planting party in May - I think it will have to be the first weekend in May - want to come, Amy?
O yes, i remember that discussion! i was definitely hoping to come.
Will it be the weekend of May 3, or May 10? i work the whole weekend of the 3rd and 4th, but i am available the 10th/11th.
i was just referring to the idea of visiting one of the CT arboreteums or gardens, maybe in April sometime - i'm not sure who all is (or considers themselves) close enough - Dave, Cat, David, Don...
sorry, i really have been sick and grouchy...
OK, Miss Sick & Grouchy:
We all love you any way you are!
I'm planning to be at Michaela's in early May as well, to help plant the beautiful gardens she has planned. I'm hoping to be able to bring lots and lots of plant babies, too. Anna and I have marked it (in pencil) on the calendar. So, I hope you can join us there, as well.
Well, here is the problem - May 10 is great for me - but the next day is Mother's day, which may not be good for others. :-)
So, I hope we can meet on the weekend when the most people can come together and have a lot of fun!
May 10th sounds good to Anna and I ~ so far any way.
