Spring RU
Hope to finally make it this time!
Hi Kassia,
Yes, I would be happy to come to an RU - and this time I hope to have lots of nice plants to swap. :-)
I'd really like to make it!
What time-frame are you thinking of, Kassia?
Oh I am thinking of June... this way we had all the spring planting out of the way!!!!
I hope to come too!! Memory and Victor, you want a ride?
Harper
Victor, you HAVE to come... and AL should come too... I want to see you , Dave 47 and Al together! I can just imagine...
Pirl, I hope you come too... and Anita, and Celeste and everyone!
If it's in June we should be back and the garden should be in, so I'd like to come!!
Yes, I would appreciate the lift, Harper. Thank you. Long drives (as the driver) are a strain on my back. I'll be the back seat driver - hee hee!
Me too! I want a ride!
I hope it won't be too long a drive for me.
I'd love to make this one also!
I'll try, but everytime I plan a trip, something goes haywire!

Let's do it all again this year!
Hey, Don, even though I'm sure you're around all the time, we don't hear enough from you. We love your prose and verse!
Since several are concerned about driving a long distance, maybe we could get a good idea of who wants to attend and then pick a central location for everyone. I know, however, that this is Kassia's idea for the spring RU, and I would defer to her thinking about the location. I will do my best to make it wherever it is held. And if Dave is coming to Boston, well.......move over, Paul Revere's ghost!! LOL
Dave47, of course, right? xxx, Carrie
Yes, which Dave are we talking about: My Dave, Our Dave, or Da Dave?
Good question.........we'll have to ask Kassia which one she meant. I guess I'd drive to Boston for any of the above! LOL
She meant The Dave - he has to come to corporate meetings in Boston.
[I know - I was rooting for ourDave though.]
Boston is a great city, but I sure don't like to drive there! If we go there, my DH will have to come to do the driving. I'm a royal chicken and really don't like driving anywhere - unless there are no other cars where I'm going. LOL
I think Kass was generously offering her place again, not Boston. Looks like somewhere in MA would probably be the mid-point for most people.
You're right, Victor! I'm game!
Upstate NY I could probably do, Boston?? Probably not...almost 8 hours from here.
Someday an upstate NY one would be nice for me too...
Boooooo. 3G, we would miss you. You can stay with us, make a weekend of it? (We'll kick the kids to Grandma's or their "real" father, no worries.)
xxx, C
LOL I did check into flights to Boston, but I'll have to work real hard on DH to get the ok to be gone a couple days.
Debilu, I didn't mean to ignore you! Sorry. How far are you? I think Kassia is right near 128/I95, not anywhere near the city. We go to what I think is upstate NY a few times every summer - Leeds? Rhinebeck? I'm never the one driving so it doesn't seem that far to me. But NY is a huge state, and I've been told that everywhere besides NYC & Long Island is considered "upstate". From here, I probably have a pretty mixed up idea of how far away you are. Apologetically, C
I'd make an effort to go to that area. Maybe there will have to be a couple different ones spaced at both ends of the summer? Berkshires anyone??? Western Mass? Hudson River area? LOL
The area covered by our members is so big, it's hard to get one place that's within a reasonable driving time for all. I like the idea of regional ones and I brought up the idea of a greater NYC / LI / NJ one a few months ago, but still like the idea of a big one where most of us can get together.
I do think that would be great if we could all get together somewhere!
Sing Sing has their annual flower show called Buds Behind Bars.
Maybe you could host an RU in your cell block, Victor! I hear it's amazing what you can do with small spaces!!
That's what all the guys here say.
Isn't there a program called "Buddies behind Bars" or am I thinking of something else? How about --- my brain hurts. I don't know enough brands of beer. "Schlitz on Skid Row"? That's not funny. I should have quit before i started. x, C
It all depends on when for me, and if I wanted to go by myself or with DH. And if he would want to tag along. It would be about a 6 hr drive for me, so an overnight would be in order. I've never gone overnight without DH except to my sister's for a weekend. If there was a train something nearby - he would be happy! I don't know why I would feel guilty going by myself.
If anyone ever wants to do a RU in Western Mass - I'm game to host.
Of course, I'd like to host when the terrace actually looks like something!
