Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 10

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Well it did it again! I had a whole thing typed, and poof...it's gone!! I hate it when that happens!!!!!
I guess I will start over! Hi everyone!! It's cold here too, but the snow is melting off...that's a good thing!
I have been trying to figure out a new cell phone. Yes...I admit it...I am cell phone illerate! The only one that I have ever had, is an OLD one from my son. And I only buy minutes for it. Well...I decided to get a new one...a Trac phone. I will just buy minutes for it too. But gosh, it's not easy to figure out all those buttons, and what to push for what!! I thought this one would be simpler..but it's not. Anyway, it is charging now, for 5 hrs they said. Then I have to go online to set up my minutes.
I guess I will get used to it. I think the main problem with me is, that I don't talk on the phone much, and that makes it hard to remember!
I know ...I know...you all are laughing at me...lol!! I am just not much of a phone talker....or a talker for that matter.
I have to tell you a 'funny' though. Yesterday, I was talking to an older friend on the phone. He is 88. Still very sharp at most things too. We were talking about cell phones, and he said he had finally gotten one, but had turned it back in..lol. I asked why? He said, well, everytime I was out here on the sun porch watching tv, the phone would ring. And I was always grabbing the remote to answer it. I decided I didn't need it. Hahahaa!! We had a good laugh over that!
Marilyn, nice to see you on the ORVG thread! :) Yeah...I want to see those other pics.
Celia, glad it's a better day for you. Sometimes sleep does wonders, huh?
Terry, hoping each day you are feeling better....and you too, Janis.
Tammy, hope your son's hand is feeling better each day also.
Marie....what can I say? You have to have the best weather out there!!! LOL!!! SEND ME SOME!!!
To anyone else reading here...a big hello!!!!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Hi, Marcy! Now that's a funny story about your friend who turned in his cell phone!!LOL I couldn't do without my cell phone. When I switched my internet service over to the same company that has our cable TV, we just did away with our home telephone service. Buddy and I both have cell phones plus we have his mother on our plan, too, for just an extra $10.00/mo. We really have no need for a "land line" any more. Buddy's phone fell out of his truck a couple of years ago and he ran over it so he had to get a more up-to-date phone but I still have an older model which I like much better than I do his. Mine is easier to use, I think. He doesn't like his either, but there is nothing he can do about it. He will just have to stick with it for a while. BTW, Marcy, I have been hemming up some slacks for my DGD for her to wear in her all-region band concert on Saturday which is why I haven't sent you those other deer wreck photos yet. I will do that when I finish this post.
Celia, its a toasty 70º in my house, too, but I am still cold! Must be the thin blood. :o((
I'll be back later.
Mau

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I would not say the best weather 115 degrees on a daily basis stinks, but at least we are not as cold as you all up there in the North.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

I tried to find Tolleson on my road atlas map, Marie, but I must not have been looking in the right place because I couldn't find it. I have been through Flagstaff two or three times on the way to California. I love that part of Arizona--it is beautiful! I'm not too crazy about the desert part, though. Too much sand or dirt! LOL
I found Tammy and Terry on the map but I still neet to find Marcy and Janis and Celia. You guys tell me where to look for you. In case you want to look me up on the map, just find Little Rock "smack dab" in the middle of the state and look a little to the northeast on Hwy. 67/167.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I am actually in what is considered unincorporated maricopa county which means I really do not belong to any city, just my mail does :o)

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok Marie....no...I don't want 115 either...lol!! Now...70 - 80 would do though!! ALL year round!
Marilyn, you are forgiven! (hmmmm...still dont see any pics though) !!
:))
Oh...and Marilyn, look near the Indiana border north of Dayton for my town!! Just a spot on the map!
Oops...I better go fix supper. I been recording songs all afternoon...lol!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

The photos are sent, Marcy! Let me know when you get them. Are you recording songs on an MP3 player?
I'm going to look you up on the map right now. BRB--- I found you! LOL What's the population of New Madison, if you don't mind my asking? How far do you have to drive when you go grocery shopping on Fridays? You are way across the state from Janis, aren't you? Lots of questions? LOL

Marie, Phoenix is in Maricopa County, isn't it?

Well, my hands are freezing so I am going to go get some coffee.
Later. . .

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Hi Marilyn...got the photos....awful!!! Those poor people...and that poor deer too! But they are a menace on the roads. I have come close several times. So far, I have avoided them.
I will send you an email back shortly.
New Madison has between 900-1000 residents, in the town itself. We live about 2 miles out west of town. We are actually only about 5 miles from the Indiana line. I shop in either Greenville, Ohio or Richmond, Indiana. It's about 12-15 miles either way. That's why it takes me so long to go to the grocery. By the time I drive there, and shop, and drive back home, the afternoon is gone!

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Yes Phoenix and several other cities are in Maricopa county. The county is very large.
What pictures are you all talking about?

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Marie, if you scroll about halfway up to my post on Jan. 16th you will see the thumbnail picture of a red truck. Enlarge it and you will know what we are talking about. Marcy wanted to see the rest of the pictures so I emailed them to her. I can either dmail them to you or email them but you will have to dmail me your email address. Is all of this confusing? One of them is especially graphic so I would rather not post them here.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm baa-aack! For at least a few minutes.

Celia, please look in your boxes and see if you have a shelf about 18" long. It's most assuredly wrapped in a towel, then bubble wrap. It's a shelf that goes on the wall and looks like crown molding, stained mahogany or so they say. It will say Pottery Barn on the bottom. On the top of the shelf, will be the grooved out area, so you can just set a picture and it rests inside the groove. Also, please try and locate a little baggie. In this baggie is a fork and a spoon, fashioned together to make a cross, but sort of "folded" down now. I believe the 2 are wired together with green wire. Are you missing anything that the movers might of left here at my house instead of delivering to you? ☺

13º and some light snow falling outside.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Huh?????

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

You all are such a hoot! LOL Mau and Terry, if we included grammar I would FAIL! HA HA HA You know that by now! LOL I can't tell you anything about Brandon as he is with his girlfriend and hasn't bothered to check in with dear old Mom! :)
I think I am ok for the Princess slot in February, unless I start to really mess up on my spelling! I am just lucky that spelling is my strong point and I proof read every post I make! HA HA HA
Hugs to all!
Tammy

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Tammy, download Mozilla firefox. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ It has a built in spell checker. You can't really mis-spell a word. It'll underline everything in red that is mis-spelled. I still think they should count grammar, but that's just my opinion..☺

Mau, huh what??

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Terry! We already use it! LOL But my problem words it doesn't correct! HA HA HA I use short cut words that are in a sense a word, but not ones I can use on there! HE HE HE I am doing ok so far, though. I am just lucky spelling is a good game for me so I can try hard to hold on to my spot! LOL Glad to see you are getting back in on chatting with us. I have been out with helping our friend, so been away more than here. (hey Beckie!)

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Terry, "Huh?" to what is Celia doing with your Pottery Barn shelf, etc. in her unpacked boxes? Now I'm confused!!! again!!! . . .and off to bed because I went to sleep in my chair while watching TV. (happens that way when you get past a certain age!). . but my hands finally warmed up!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Night, Mau! Sleep well! :)

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Mau, Celia has unpacked boxes from May of '05. I have unpacked boxes from May of '05 when we moved in here. Quite possibly my boxes were mixed up with hers, so my things would be in her boxes. See??

Now it's time for me to go nighty night...

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Night, Terry, sleep well! :)

(Zone 7a)

Hi! I'm home!

Morning all!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Morning everyone.. I'm still here lurking... no news yet about my car, it could possibly have a bent frame, and if it does, it will more than likely be totaled. :((

Snowed yesterday, not alot, just enough to make it yucky, and I face planted myself in the yard :(( So today I feel like crummy. Just banged up and bruised, nothing broken... I tell ya, I'm ready to crawl in bed and not come out until spring LOL

Found out today that there is a bus that passes with in a half mile of my house that goes to my kids school, and I've been driving them 3.5 miles one way every day for a 3 months for no reason :(( So starting this afternoon, I only have to drive about a half mile to the bus stop. So at least that is something good.

Go back to the orthopedist Tuesday about my wrist, hopefully new XRays taken then to see what is going on. I'm just in a brace, like people with carpal tunnel use, that keeps my wrist and thumb immobilized. Still hurts if I try to use it, I'm just so glad I'm left handed and its my right wrist :))

Well, I wanted to let you all know I'm thinking about you, and will be posting more as I'm able. big hugs to all, I miss you guys!!

Janis

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Morning everyone!
Janis, so glad to see you are starting to get better! So sorry to hear your car might be totaled, though! :( Also glad that you learned about that bus that comes by. We are thinking about you as well and praying you get well VERY soon!
Big Hugs
Tammy

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Janis gald to hear there is a closer bus stop. I too am sorry about your car. I have never had to drive in/on snow and ice and am very thankful that I do not. Want to move to the desert?

Hugs,
Marie

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Good morning, everyone!

Marie, I am coming to live with you until the "Siberian Express" moves on out of the South. LOL It was down in the teens last night! BRRRR

Okay, Terry. I follow you now about your stuff being packed away somewhere in Celia's unpacked boxes. Too bad she has already painted that shelf--LOL However, I may have sold your shelf. I used to have one just like the one that Celia has but I got rid of it when we moved--not enough room for it here. I hate moving--packing, unpacking, losing stuff, etc., etc.

We miss you, too, Janis! Sounds like you need to take some "how to be graceful" lessons! LOL (Not laughing at you being sore, just at the way you described your fall.) I can't believe the school has let you drive that far when there is a bus that comes so much closer to your house. That would burn me up! I could use a little heating up right now--Ha! Still feeling the effects of too-thin blood. I think I'll go get some spinach and eat a big helping. The vitamin K will help to thicken my blood. LOL

Tammy must not be awake yet. Hey, Beckie! (if you are out there) LOL

Be back later--time for more HOT coffee. Marie, get my room ready!! LOL
Mau

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

come on out Mau!! My cold is nothing compared to yours. It should start warming up here in the next couple of weeks too.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Mau, I'm here, I posted a few above you! LOL
BUT, I am not awake yet! HA HA HA

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, how did I miss your post, Tammy? Beats me. Get yourself a strong cup of coffee--that will wake you up. Ha!
Marie, I saw in the national weather news this morning that it is going to be 85º in Phoenix today. That sounds great to me!! In fact, Phoenix was the warmest place on the national map!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Already had the coffee, not working yet! LOL I need a strong pain pill as well because I hurt my back yesterday carrying a big steam cleaner! OUCH! My own stupidity for not taking his car down to get it like he offered! LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

That pain pill would just put you right back to sleep, Tammy! Sorry you hurt your back. Buddy can certainly sympathize with you on the back pain. I still haven't left this chair to go get more coffee so this time I am really going. . . .

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

True about the pain pill, but at least I would forget the pain for a while! Now go get that coffee! LOL

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Considering it is only 40 right now I do not forsee 85 degree weather. I think somebody at the Ntional wweather service is playing a joke on you Mau.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I WISH it was at least 45º here!

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I was just talking with my bosses and we were making fun of the fact that we complain when it is in the hundreds but are crying because it is 40 out.

Norfolk, VA

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I would complain if it got in the hundreds, too! LOL

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)
