Fort Worth, TX

got a question, are we going to do door prizes like last time? Maybe I missed it if it was already mentioned. Also what is the cost for everything per person?

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

i've never hijacked a greyhound but always wanted to. why is that not a popular option? we never get to do what i want to.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

LOL Well mama I was thinking why not hijack one of the school buses they use for field trips they are air conditioned here in Tyler but if we do a greyhound or one of the charter places to hijack I would still offer to do the driving as I applied at a charter place here for the summer ROFL

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Blues, we are not doing door prizes this time around, so save your money for the stops at the nurseries. The cost per person is now $0.

Fort Worth, TX

OK cool! Thanks!

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

mibus, i am picturing keanu reeves and what's her face in the movie "speed" as you and i careen wildly thru waxahachie nursery parking lots in a purloined greyhound. lol.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Sandra Bullock is her name as long as you don't put a bomb on there we could do it LMAO ..heck I just went to Shreveport today on one of the air conditioned buses..ahhh nice LOL

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

i thought of her name just as this thread was coming up. didn't know if i should edit or not but now there is no need to. how much did you lose? lol.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

LOL not a penny it was a field trip for one of the grade school sand when the other driver and I walked around the area we didn't' take any cash along with us. unless it is a guaranty I will win I have better things to spend my money on LOL

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I vote for the plan B also. My DH is coming and Posie is riding with us. We can get one or two others in our suv.
I am in Valley WA on my cousin's laptop. It is not easy to use, but I am getting my Dave's fix at least! See you all this next week!

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Plan B it is! Thanks all for the quick responses!! Only 9 days to go!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I have a cherokee, and can fit two or three more for the tour.Won't have alot of room in the back for plants we want though....LOL
I guess we can always go back to pick them up...

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Bump!

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Ok folks, the map to the park is at the top of this thread. I will hand out maps of the tour while we're at the park. Does anyone have plastic dinnerware?

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I have some plastic that I can bring, but probably not enough for this many.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Pattie, bring what you have and I'll bring what I have and if any one else has any, they can bring some too.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

okay :)

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

dinnerware? Forks, spoons, knives? or Plates?

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

All of the above.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

We have heavy duty eating utensils but we always use paper plates. Are you talking about "Solo"? Those are pretty expensive for this many people.

Have an idea. Everyone bring their own plate, utensils, cup and drinks. Then it is not a financial burden on anyone.

Christi

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

It's no burden, I just thought if folks already have some, they could bring what they had. I can go get some more, no problem.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

We will bring the utensils.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Christi, if you haven't bought the utensils yet, I have a box that originally belonged to Sheila, and we have been using from it at the swaps, I think there is enough of forks, spoons and knives, so i can bring our community cutlery, courtesy of Sheila. Please let me know.
Josephine.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

That will be fine, Jo. This is some we had left from catering a BBQ.

Dallas, TX

I have a box of forks, will bring some. Patti I am glad to know you are coming, I forgot to bring your exchange at the last swap. btw I am going to put Rose Red in the ground, its getting to big for the pot, sure you don't want a piece?
I need to make a list of what I am bringing to this Soirée, I am a working woman and things get past me really fast.
IF I AM SUPPOSED TO BRING ANYBODY ANYTHING, PLEASE REMIND ME AGAIN ... I WOULD APPRECIATE IT!

4 POTATO PIES
MITCH'S ZZ PLANTS
A DOOR PRIZE
PATTI'S OBEDIENT PLANT
CRISTIE'S HOSTAS

No, Sylvia, don't you dare divide that little thing!

I forgot you were bringing obedient plant. It sounds like you have a lot to bring. Why don't you just leave it, and I'll get it from you when we pack up hostas.

I also dug up my tall purple ruellia. Then I got busy chopping up the wisteria and... ::hanging head::.. forgot to pot one up for you. I think they're all past saving. So I won't have that this weekend. Don't worry; I'm positive that's not the end of it. I'll just have to give you one later.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Are obediant plants still on the endangered list? One wouldn't think so with it's appetite for spreading..but it was on it a couple years ago

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow, really? I've never grown it before, but all I've ever heard is how it spreads.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

sylvia, you were bringing me 600.00, remember?

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I have a wisteria that volunteered in another pot with a passe. It is from my old vine and blooms beautifully. Would you like to have it, Sylvia?

Christi

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Well folks, the big day is tomorrow and I still have a few hairs left on my head. Storm did some damage to my roof last night, so y'all can't look at it! I hope nobody has any high expectations for what my place looks like. This will kinda be like the "before" picture, then a few years down the road y'all can come see the "after" picture. I sure hope it's not windy tomorrow!

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I've been to your home and I love it. We have been here 41 years and it is still a work in progress. You have accomplished a great deal at such a young age. You should be proud of yourself. I am proud of you. sorry about the damage. We had a pretty bad leak where the tree trimmer dropped a big limb on the house.
Worry about that next week.

Christi

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Same here very sorry about the damage, your home is wonderful and looks great all ready. Gives me ideas on what to do - next time!
