and lou i watched gone with the wind with my daughter and i told her where all the really racy spots were back in the day. she's 13 and she loved the movie it was hard for her not to laugh at the things our parents got uptight about. lol.

and another thing.....is the man/woman ratio in alaska really 50:1?
So guys and gals guess what? I am going to be covering this round up for the articles. So us North Texas folks and the kin that come to these things will get to be in a featured article - with loads of photos I hope! Fingers crossed that I do a great job on this one.

ACH MITCH...dot' you know my hair won't stay looking good all day the heat will make it go flat ...ROFL
guess that means no grubs that day have to look good IF ya can catch me in pictures.
LOL
My gardening experience is just since I've moved into this house. I started about 7 years ago.
Yes Liberia is on the west coast of Africa in the equatorial region. It's located right underneath the belly as we call it. It was a boys paradise, I did plant my first garden in my teens there. Lots of tropical plants, outside that I'm not sure of the names.
We did bring seeds back. I decided to try some of the seeds, and after 30 some years of being dormant, a mystery tree sprouted. I believe it to be a W. African Tamarind tree.
Mitch, of course your article will be witty, entertaining, informative...okay enough about the subjects..I'm sure the article will be good too! LOL...!!! You'll do just great.
That is great Mitch, you can use my pictures if you like.
We will make them wish they were coming to the BIG one you guys were planning!! Sounds great Mitch, I know you will do us proud!
Randy--are you driving up just for the day and returning that night?
No, I'm going to be there for 3 days.
I hope so :-) I have a firm thought that we in the North Texas area plan and have the best Round Ups in the whole of Daves... And with the afterglow and all this Spring it is going to be GREAT!
Rj after hearing LouC talk about you I am cannot wait to meet you in person, another stunning member of DG.
Now I did drive to Randys for the day and return that night. This time he will be staying with Mike and I as our guest. Can't wait. We didn't have near enough time to visit before. If you go to Tropical Zone and look up "Red Letter Day in Houston" you can see our visit with IslandShari and Texasgal77 (Jeanne). This RU is going to be the greatest.

BTW, Randy, planted you palm a couple of days ago and it already has 2 new leaves... yay! Might ought to go cover it. They are predicting hail.
woo hoo - thanks Christi.
I am looking forward to meeting you to Mitch, and Rita and the Red Oak gang!
Randy, even though I haven't said much lately, I am also looking forward to meeting you.
Josephine.
Hi Josephine,
I look forward to meeting you too. I have paid attention to your postings for quite some time, never thought I'd have an opportunity like this, going to be a great treat!
Yes, this get together is shaping up just great, thanks to T.J. he has really gone to great lengths to make it very special.
Yes, I'll need to pay attention to his organizational skills as I'm contemplating holding another exchange at my place this July.
TJ ... what about room and board? I don't see anyway of getting back to DALLAS in three or four days! LOL Maybe if I read farther up the thread you would have taken care of that too! You got it going on Brother Man!
Thanks Sylvia!! What are you talking about- room and board?
Who did the name tags in October? Whoever it was, could you please do it again this time?
Only 3 weeks left!!!!
This is such a long thread, and I'm new to the forum. Still on for April 19?
Yep, are you gonna come, Ares?
I could be mistaken but I think I saw on another thread that Ares also has a Dallas address. Probably the wrong person.
T.J. Sheila and Deb did the tags for the fall swap.
T.J.,
I have enough to make 80 name tags and can buy more if we need them. Debnes did the graphics for me, and I still have the file I am sure. Give me a beginning count by this weekend. I will get them made before I leave town next week, and get with you later as to a final count.
Sheila, the count right now is 36 committed, and 4 iffies. The current list is posted here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/828980/
I will do 50 for now then, I am leaving off the name of the RU so we can use what we don't need at the Arlington one this fall. Thanks.
You know its going to be more than fifty people there... its all over Texas and the continental USA. lol
Well everyone is always welcome to join us, but that "big dream" was put on hold. TJ is trying to make it more exciting this time though.
Someday.

I have very bad news. )~: The church van that I was planning on using for the tour was involved in an accident (no injuries) and will not be ready by the 19th. I just called the rental place to see how much another van would be and they said if they had another van available for that date, which they don't, it would be the same price as the other van, so no discount. That means everyone would have to pay at least double. But we don't have to worry 'bout that because they don't even have another van available. I thought about looking elsewhere for a van but when I originally shopped van rental prices, that place was the cheapest I could find.
So, here's our options: A: we cancel the tour B: we carpool and go on with the tour ....or C: we hijack a Greyhound for the day. I vote for B. What do y'all say?
