Morning just got in..had a bit of snow/ice pellets and titch of freezing rain but as we neard Toronto it cleared up..turning very mild but changes are coming later today..Suzanne has to attend a creditors meeting this morning and won't be returning to the office so I parked at my brother Bernies' in Hillsdale (about 1/2 hr. from home) she picked me up and the girls will drop me off this aft. - then on my way home I can pick up a few more supplies at the Stained Glass Studio..should really drop into the bead store in Midland..we'll see..
Lights were on at Bernies' house so while I waited for Suzanne we had a nice visit..however, he told me that Ross and Nancy (Ross is his son) are separating..OMG they've been married for about 15 years..he just finished building a beautiful showplace..has to be worth $450-$500K...3 young children..think the eldest would be about 10..just so very sad!
Prior to leaving this morning I put a few garden things away that should have been done in the fall but snow came quickly and stayed..hopefully when I get home this aft. I can finish storing a few more things..didn't get close to the pond but saw in the darkness that the floating lights in the pond were on..solar units..hopefully if there is ice around them I can chop them out/with any luck they might not be frozen in...
Walking around this morning I got such an urge to rake, to go look if any little flowers are peeping their heads...lol...my head is just a swirling with all kinds of ideas...I'm hoping Carol can offer a few as well...
In March I'm going to focus on the B&B sign, take photo's and register officially with the B&B organization...so lots of plans..Lord willing!!!!
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #26 visit with friends...
Liz, as soon as I get home my 1st. priority will be to re-organize my stained glass area..check for the drill bit..if I can't find in (let's say in 10 minutes) I'll be off to Home Depot to purchase another..lol
Will take photo's as I go along..I know that my drill press will be perfect to put holes in all the glass pieces that will hang, I'm just hoping that my right hand is strong enough since the accident to drill..it's not like drilling wood..each hole will probably take me 10 minutes for each so I can do one then work on Paul's piece and do another..let's hope...
I thought I saw this glass sundae dishes all over, until that is I went to look for them..not till last weekend were they at the $$$ store...early, like 7am Canadian Tire opens..my big treat of the week is to pick up something on sale..good deals on tools, then groceries and then I'll drop by and see if they have more of these glasses..so early morning is spoken for..should bring my vehicle in for servicing but I don't want to wait for an hour or so as it's a major check-up this time...
Shar did check the clothing and it's 100% spandex..maybe that's why they wear so well...
1pm can't come fast enough...
Good Morning!
...First things First...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAWN!
Wishing you a wonderful day, full of happiness!
Just had to pop in to say hello, I will be gone for the day...Boohooo
All the info I added yesterday for my project here at work is gone!!!
Which now means I have re-enter everything...Oh gosh i am so frustrated,
can't even beleive i didn't hit save.
So...Will have to post at lunch or this weekend.
Betty, wish I had your fast typing skills! LOL
Better get at it, meantime everyone have a
marvelous day!
Hi..
I just saw the nicest thing ..
A lady outside walking along the road and collecting garbage that has blown into the ditches..you know..bits of paper and the odd pop can etc that collects over the winter.
She has three grocery bags almost full.
Betty..sounds like you have early spring fever too..I left my wheel barrow outside..will bring it in to the garage today.
Happy Birthday to Dawn...have a wonderful day.
Cheers,
Carol
Happy Birthday Dawn!
Happy, happy Birthday dawn!!!! Enjoy your day!!
Good morning everyone. And happy birthday Dawn. My week has been busy, work wise. Have been on the road most of the week and I'm so glad today is Friday! Hope you are all having a good day
OMG Judy, how horrible..don't you just hate it when that happens...as for my typing skills..I was laughing because each time I went to the library to post everyone kept watching me...dead silence in there so you could hear the rap/rap of the keyboard..even had a teacher who was in the library come and tell me my posture and typing skills were excellent..felt so very young again..almost as though I was back in school...always got A+ for that ability..helped raise my grades..
So what Judy do you have planned for the weekend? Your beading is probably done till Christmas rolls around, not warm enough for gardens so do tell..what will you get up to..can work some projects for you if you fall short of some on your list...
Crazy question..do you ever find yourself thinking and mentlaly you are typing what is in your thoughts? perhaps it's just me, my mind works overtime..good lord, surely I won't be Aunt Muriel the 2nd..will I...PLEASE stop me before then..
Mom will be at the cottage this weekend...truly wanted to drop of some $$$..want Aunt Muriel to pick up some more birds for me..don't know if I mentioned my purchases but at the flea market they had parrots/hummingbirds/bluejays/cardinals all were so realistic..well, the were in 2 parts with hidden magnets within that held the 2 pieces together to make 1 bird..anyway you could use these for various projects, I'm going to put 1/2 the bird on the outside of my kitchen window and 1/2 the bird inside..will look as though he's flying in...thought if I also made glass bird feeders I could put one on it...so, I'll call and ask her or mom to pick me up 8..I'll probably be sorry that I didn't get more...
Liz, sure hope when DH gets his final results that all will be ok...
Happy Birthday Dawn..did try to call you last night but am sure you were celebrating the big event...
Carol, haven't seen you on, am sure you bought out Home Depot..
Gita...I look pretty in yellow or pink, not sure what color Shar likes but guess our bridesmaid dresses don't have to be same color...we just love kidding you 'sweetie' please don't take offence...I think it is so endearing that you've written your friend...you know, I loved my DH beyond reason, but there is always a special place in my heart for 'Tony' my very 1st love..don't think we ever forget them do we...he was the most gorgeous guy in town..my lord he was handsome..will have to dig out a photo..all the girls were envious...
Here's a story for you all...
We always had teen dance on Friday night, my grandparents raised me and although we were not rich I always had my hair done after school so I'd be ever so pretty..nicely dressed and had the cutest beau..Tony didn't drive and lived in the country - probably about 1/2 hr. out of town..so he'd hitch a ride with his friends or older brothers...we'd meet at the dance and it ended at 11pm..then everyone would get to go to the restaurant for pop/chips etc. However, my grandparents gave me a curfew...had to be in by12:00 not 1:00 like most of the others... so that meant Tony would walk me home and had an hour to kill until his ride would pick them up..so we'd sit in the front room and gab, try to steal a kiss and dear old grandma would be in the kitchen..now try to visualize this, she's position her rocker near the living room door, hand one of those old time clocks that you wound, the tick/toc/tick/toc was as loud as it could be, the rocker was ancient and when she would rock back and forth you could hear the flooring crack, the winding to that clock and the tic toc and also her yawning...Tony would not be impressed, he'd say 'if that old lady doesn't stop rocking, I'm out of here'...I get a laugh remembering those times .. probably her rocking kept me out of mishief...
So,Gita, guess I'm saying that perhaps his memory of you will be one of kindness...remember Valentines Day is just around the corner, who knows, cupid may yet have an arrow from long ago waiting to be used!!!
You can tell by my constant gabbing and rambling that I'm trying to fill in my morning..everyone is out..just me and Wayne..he's playing solitaire and I'm trying to rid myself of all of this energy..had too many hours of sleep last night...
So dear friends...what's up with you today? What's planned for your weekend ahead?
Carol, I had the battery unit installed at my house as well...a must when thaw comes so quickly..when I was away I had problems only because I had disconnected (doing crafts) themain unit, the battery operated one worked day and night for almost 2 weeks until it died..that Mike, Darlene's husband is going to install another little unit, not costly, it's put up just above the battery operated unit and if the main system, the battery operated system doesn't work then an alarm goes off..at least it would make you aware that there will be a potential problem..perhaps plug in the battery operated one to work manually on electricity..so I would say for that amount of money, it would be money well spent...
We have a group of ladies who walk early in the morning through all seasons and they all have bags picking up liter..think it's wonderful..
I have to contact the munipality as I'm at the bottom of the hill and with the water running as such speed it brings all the debris through the entire road into the main drain and blocks it..every year I've had to clean it but am hoping the'll send someone to do it...
Glad you dropped by Cat..morning Vicki and Jeannine...
o.k. I kept throwing all my painting junk and tools on my stained glass work bench..so, with aft. off I tidied it up..now it's time to get serious and start working..pizza's on it's way
forgot the photo..lol
The only thing with cleaning...you got it, found some patterns that has taken my focus away from the project I've got to do...now what do you think of this for a Mothers' Day gift...
I've got so much stained glass from previous projects that I'll make the birdfeeder AND the windchime for her....
And of course 1 for me of each..because I'm a good girl..
Boys are here, so off I go to visit with them..have all my pattern glued on to the glass except for pine trees and sky which I'm going to pick up different glass for it, not fond of what I had nor was it wide enough so I'm calling it a night..tomorrow's another day...
Could get it all cut tomorrow...having the Taurus3 saw makes life so much easier...
Just incase...
Best...visit with my brother who took my suggestion with the 10' satelite dish and made a gazebo...reminded him that my 60th was just around the corner and that if he was a 'good' brother I'd have one in my yard by spring..told me to go find the dish and he'd do it for me..I'm such a scammer...lol
Worse...hearing that his son and his wife are separating..
tears my heart appart!
What did I learn..lol..lost 1/2 day good crafting because I had to clean my work area..next time, clean as you go..ha/ha
If I don't get back tonight..do enjoy yourselves...
And Dawn..Happy Birthday...
beautiful colours Betty.............matches the pizza too!! LOL
Good one, Carole!!!
I wrote this novel and scrolled up to make sure I covered it all and must have clicked the mouse because it is gone!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES, THAT MADE IT, THAT WAS THE FINAL ICEING ON THE CAKE SO ALL REMEMBERED AND I FEEL SO LOVED, YOU GUYS ARE FANTASTIC FRIENDS, YOU LITTLE FACELESS PEOPLE WITH BEAUTIFUL GARDENS. (No just kidding, we all post our mugs here because we are real friends on this thread).
Betty I DO THAT TOO, I DREAM IN TYPING, I DAYDREAM TYPING THOUGHT IN MY HEAD. MAYBE I AM A REAL TYPIST NOW. MY TEACHER SAYS IT'S REAL BAD WHEN YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTROL Z YOUR LIFE, LIKE ERASE THE CAR ACCIDENT W/CONTOL Z. Do you do that?
Sorry I missed ya again. Drats.
I love the stained glass. I love victorian stuff anyhow. One day I want to buy some of those long framed stained glass panels that I see in Antique stores. I see good deals on them on consignment sometimes. My burgundy room has 6 long ceiling to floor windows that are deep and they would look nice in them I think. You are so talented, it amazes me. One day I will learn to quilt and do stained glass, I love them both.
Liz aren't you so jealous of the friends here with basement? We hardly have them in Ca.
Thanks again for being the cherry on my birthday cake.
It is still today here, Dawn....Happy birthday, Little girl!!!!!!!
Hugs, Sharon
Happy Birthday Dawn!
Betty the colors are lovely and tell Kyle congrats on his "license!"
Oh, first loves........ Ryan Andrew MacPherson from Kelowna, BC He and I met in the summer at Derry's Resort in Winthrop, WA. I was 13 and he was 12. We had a hugs crush on each other but never said anything about it that summer because we where to shy. Ryan's grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles went to the Resort (if you can call it that) it's a campground with a few cabins and trailer hookups on a lovely lake. The following summer we where boyfriend and girlfriend and that carried on for several more summers. I am still close friends with Ryan and his entire family. He and I joke that someday when we both have kids they will probably end up dating each other and we will be the ones catching them smooching in the bushes!
Nothing can replace the innocence of a first love.
Glad to hear that everyone had a good friday. I recieved some rotten news today, a dear friend and sorority sister of mine is loosing her 3rd battle with lung cancer. The doctors are keeping her comfortable and are giving her a few more days. I feel so blessed that she was a part of my life.
Well better get to bed I'm going to a winter seed sowing seminar tomorrow in the a.m. Love and hugs, Rachel
morning all,
betty, judy is busy this weekend in the yard i have her on a wild goose chase she is going to go in the snow with a baseball bat and look for the pumpkin seeds lol
sorry to hear about nancy and ross, to bad they couldnt work things out,
tell kyle congrads.. bet he is so excited good job! you have been a busy bee look how nice you have things in the work room.
that was a good one on the gazebo lol so now bed and breakfast how exciting is this going to be for you now the new year is taking off in the right direction for you.
oh yes did you locate the drill bit? thanks on dh, you know what it is the medication has altered his personality he is short with things and has no clue how (nasty) he is so its hard for me not to explode or hit him over the head with a frying pan lol for instince last week during the nasty storm, the water was comming in the garage so every few hours i would mop it up he would get irritated with that to just leave it alone.
so my boss said that her dh was going to bring me sand bags (10) to work, the city she lives in was giving away 24 per house and their the nice ones with burlap so my plan was the sand could be reused when the rubarb leaves got big enough anyway it would be recylced either way.. he did the pffft and said we dont need things like this only if the street floods but you will do whatever you want so put them in the pile of s--- with everything else in the garage... thats how he is just short tempered in things like that.
the old kenny he didnt care one way or the other he would of said hey its free why not
so thats what i deal with for another couple of months then he'll be back to normal.
carol, thats nice to see people cleanning up, that was quick on the pizza lol
dawn, BASEMENTS oh no im just green with envy on cellars, and attics to! lol i always wondered how fun it would be to go snoop around in a attic and find treasures. glad you had a terrific birthday.
rachel, i enjoyed the first love story so cute, now how sad about your friend prayers to you
Rachel, prayers going out to your friend..bet each and every one of us remember that first love...don't know if I'd want to go through that process...hard on the 'heart' as well...lol..poor parents...didn't see as much of it with my boys but perhaps those of you who have girls would...you must have needed the patience of a saint..lol...
Well it's early morning, tried to stay in bed till at least 7am and did it..also made it to 11pm last night - I'm gaining ground..trying to get my days/night back into a routine..getting up in the middle of the night to get all my workshop projects in gear through me off balance!
A light coat of snow covers the ground..put all the boxes and papers from Christmas under the deck as I could not find my burning pit, but now that the 2 1/2 ft. of snow is gone, this morning might be the morning to rid myself of it..
Trying to decide if I want to go to the Stained glass shop before I make myself pretty or after..hmmm with my luck I'd go as is and there would be a shop full of people I know..so while typing I've just decided..it's pretty yourself up..
Mike and Darlene, Art and Mae will be dropping in later this morning..Darlene said Mike picked me up a high water alarm so he wants to install it..said that should do the trick..if either pumps don't work, the alarm will sound...now laying in bed I was thinking, if I heard the sound during the night, would I panick and call 911 or would there be a total difference in sound??? will have to check that up..wonder if neighbors would hear it and do same...then just before Christmas I got a large t.v. and it doesn't quite fit in the wall unit in the basement so Mike is measuring and will do some changes to that it's secure..didn't want to return it for a smaller one and I thought it was much to big for upstairs living room..so nice to have friends looking after you...
I told Bernie DB/Charlen SIL to send me a photo of the garden art piece that I WANT..I've got butterflies in my tummy thinking how pretty it will look this spring..now I'm thinking gardens around it etc. Crazy/Crazy lady...
Had a lovely visit with the boys..now Kyle was so up on his Snowmobile permit issued by the Dept. of Transport that he said 'show your friends Grandma' so I couldn't resist...Greg/Mel came in from the retirement dinner they had attended..think Mel had more than one..lol..so funny and especially when she's with Greg who has never drank..he's always so serious..even as a child he had the troubles of the world on his shoulders...
Greg was telling me that another friend of his visited Trevor in Toronto Hospital yesterday...although all the life support has been removed, he is still breathing..said he held Trevor's hand, spoke softly and thought Trevor stirred, but that of course could just be reflex..but, everyone is not giving him much hope, but, the Lord may have had different plans for Trevor..so, let's hope..have seen miracles result from all the prayers that we on DG have prayed!
Liz, you'll have to look at the Project#2 thread later..I'll post some information...
Now Shar what do you have planned for today..Know Ethan will not be up till next weekend...you KNOW you have to be a good girl and no high energy movements..
Guess I'd better get moving..I'm so relaxed that if I continue to sit here, well, you know what will happen..that will be the end of my day...
Liz, we cross posted...now why do you want Pumpkin seeds..just went up to my junk drawer and found a package, know I should have more than 1 unless I threw them up last time I cleaned the drawer..anyway, I had when I was Rec. Co-ordinator a Fall Fair ordered hundreds of packets so I could go to school in the spring and give them out to interested youth who would grow them and enter them into a 'pumpkin' contest..was so much fun..anyway, got off track..if you would like reg. pumpkin seeds..I'll ALSO send you some and look at this package..if you think you have the energy to baby these seeds lol I'll ship it off to you I'll type some of the nfo..
"grandaddy of all giant pumpkins..record is 1,091 lbs..varies from yellow/orange and skin is quite textured..needs full sun and shelter from the winds...
so, let me know...these seeds won't grow in my kitchen drawer..which now reminds me after looking in it..clean up should be priority on my list...today or tomorrow is a must..had to jam everything back in just enough to close it... funny!
love to try them, it was the pumpkin that judy's dh brought home it was huge so i thought i would try to see if i would have any luck with it out here
Morning..
Hooray for Kyle! Well done. I am sure he will have a lot of fun snowmobiling.
Well now..what is this Project #2? Do you never stop Betty? LOL
I have a couple of things to pick up today. I had to have my good watch cleaned and overhauled...could have bought a new one for the price..but when I took it to have a new battery put in it wouldn't work..so I said go ahead and fix it. $61.00..and I hardly ever wear it..
Second thing to pick up is a microsuede footstool I ordered as a birthday gift for my daughter. The top comes off for storage inside and you can turn the top over to use as a tray as well.
They had recently got new Beige microsuede furniture for their family room. Her birthday isn't till 12th of March but I will be away in Myrtle Beach then.
Ok..have a great day all
Liz, I'll send them off..am sure you don't want one that grows that large but hey even if it grows 1/2 that size you'll have a 500 lb. giant 'pumpkin' and just think of all the pies you'll have at Thanksgiving..lol..
Carol..stool sounds fabulous..a trip to Myrtle Beach..hmm you'll have to stop at the pottery shop just off the beach about 2 or 3 miles...my goodness..now there is a place to spend your $$$..
Watch must have been a sentimental piece..so much now days is 'throw away' items because you can purchase them for far less...
Well I'm dressed, house vacuumed, upstairs floors all nicely mopped and I'm on my way to spend my $$$..so be back later..enjoy your day!
DAH!!! Just found thread #26! I'm such a doofus....I saw the link, but left it there and, then, other people posted and it got buried under....Was wondering where all the posters went?
Loved reading about all your first loves! Actually, Ronnie (the man I wrote the letter to) was my sort of second love, but i was his first girl-friend. He was 22 and I was 24. Funny--that would be so weird nowadays, when 12 year olds are in relationships. there were so many "inocents" back in the 60's..
Two days late, but double special wishes on your Birthday, Dawn!!!! Had I paid attention to the "Thread transition" I would have been on time.
Betty--do you know that your and my birthday are just 2 days apart? We are just 2 fishes in the sea! We DO have a lot in common.....
I am also in a straightening up mood. Happens every New Year--something mental about the "New"....Here I am home--7 days a week--(no job nowadays--all hours cut!) and I have a hard time thinking of what I need to do. Then, when the busy times come, I will be complaining that I have this and that to do and no time.....kicking myself in the butt for NOT doing things when I had time. I am not as ambitious as you, Betty!
Gonna tackle some of my basement storage areas today to make room for some of my larger kitchen appliances that I seldom use. They are taking up way too much room in my pantry and serving cart. Read about doing this in the Paper--got me all inspired....
Sometimes when I can't think of what to do, I start cooking something...but then I have to eat it for 7 days and get so tired of it. Picking away at a small pork roast I did 3 days ago. Eating it on sandwiches ans snacking on it in the evening. Think I will have some for breakfast! Yummy--but repetitious.
Betty!!! Oh, my God!!! Look how many little bottles of paint you have in those black bins!!!!! You could open your own store! BTW--The A.C. Moore craft store exists ONLY here on the east Coast--from Maine to Florida. I asked yesterday.
OK! Tummy's making funny noises. Gotta go eat something for breakfast.
Gita
Good Morning!
...wow, can't beleive I slept so late! Yesterdays, work day just knocked me out, lol. But I did accomplish what had to be done so was glad for that.
Betty, How wonderful for Kyle. Congrats Kyle, now go have fun and be careful with it!
Ves, Glad you have beautiful memories of your brother. I am so glad you got the Bowl, and how pretty it is too.
Carol,I love to see people picking up trash. Just warms a person to know others care about our earth...Thank you for advise on my roses. I do hope They can withstand the change.
Rachael, oh, I am so very sorry to hear of your friends battle. I pray she will have some comfort. Also that you find streangth.
Cat, Hope things settle down for you.
Shar, Has Ethan and Kyle come home yet...hope the trip is good and you have lots of fun together.
Dawn, So glad you had a good birthday! How was Red Lobster? Yummy for sure.
Hey Tropi, How are things going in the green house? Got to tell you, I actually love Yucca.
Betty and Shar, Oh now isn't it great to hear each other's voice.
So, for this weekend...Lots to do! I still have to get things put away from the trip. Dh getting ready for a trip to cottage so, will need the bag. Also, lol I have some shopping to do...need to replenish my crafts stock...Now have 4 blankets to make and all the pieces so putting names in a hat first I pull is the one to start. Also, I am waiting on some pieces via e-mail, so I can use them to learn my
computer, never got chance to figure things out so some friends are helping with that! Got one so far, a good start...Want to help I'll send my e-mail address and you can send me a really nice photo of yourelf! and lol, got to go see if I can find them pumpkin seeds for liz. You know that huge pumkin is laying flat as a pancake...so hoping to salvage some seed, worth a try. and Finally, DH put me to work..got to primer and poly a door for him.
...Oh, wanted to say, Love hear the first love stories...hehehe still giggling on your leak problem, what ahoot.
GG-I sure hope you still get that new bed.
Laura, hoping you are having a good weekend.
Well I have got to go answer some mail and get my day going...hahha, calls for another cup o jo!
Have a grand day all, see you at a break.
oops, Hi Gita, Sorry to hear no hours, will they call you in for Spring- ahhh just around the corner.
Meantime hope your organsing goes well. LOL should do the same.
Oh also, forgot to say...may I use some faves of photos you all posted? Like some of the florals.
Carol, your roses are so lovely
my goodness, hurry up Spring.
Morning! Not in the best mood. DH got up at 6:10 and turned on the light. I woke right up and asked what he was doing. He said Getting ready for work. I said it is saturday. There went my sleep. Brain turned on and wouldn't shut down again. Oh gosh I could of sleep in.
Oh well at least he made breakfast when he finally got up. Yes he went back to sleep. Sigh!
3 busy days at work and the aleve is kicking in. Feel better. But want to get DG caught up and then figure out what I will do.
Since my brain is kind of foggy. but still running I'm not going to try to catch up. But you all have been up to lots of stuff and it has been interesting as usual. Hope to be back later unless I am sleeping! LOL
Here is one of my favorite flowers and it smells so good and grows great.
Seed,
Not sure what you meant about us sending you our favorites to use. What are you using them on? I have lots and lots of beautiful garden shots. Lots of close-ups of flowers.
Please let me know....
Re pictures of ourselves--I posted a while ago that I, for one, would love to see everyone of us attach a photo of ourselves to our Personal Listings (the one you get to if you click on someone's name). I too would like to see what everyone looks like...
Gita
Gita,
Thought I would like to learn how to make a collage! Would rather use photos of my friends gardens instead of pictures from a magazine...means so much more I think. Would use some of my own but only have a few...all the others are in my old computer...which is trashed.
So thought I would go into some of the old threads to print out some of photos, but wanted to ask for permission first. Would love to see and use some of yours if I may....Sent you a d-mail.
As far as a photo, You know i will add one to my personal listing, forgot about it...but do have to say I have enjoyed a few times browsing through the DG photo album.
But here is a photo of my family from Christmas. I am the one wearing red. DH-Steve and Children Sabrina, behind me, Jacob wearing santa hat and Julia in the lower.
Love the photo's...Gita, now when this gentleman caller writes (and I'm positive he will) he'll see what a pretty lady you've become in your later years and fall right back in love with you..I can just feel it in these old bones...
Judy/Judy went to the post office to post the giant pumpkin seeds to Liz and had your Santa..well of course I did not have a box for it because, well just because..so asked them for the different types that they had for sale..wouldn't you know it..none fit so will have to go out and look for one...how disappointing..I'm going to tell you..that Victorian Santa has been to Toronto 5 or 6 times, to Florida and back and now to the post office...he'll be tired out by the time I ship him..lol...glad you've got patience..love your family photo..hm..might just have to do something with that one..
Well I won't be going dancing tonight for sure..spent a fortune Wednesday night at Gail's stained glass shop..went for a few things today, there went anothe $100 and as if I didn't have enough to occupy my time, she had finished designing a new pattern pack..she calls it
"Golden memories at the cottage" so it came home with me..thought it would look lovely in my front window..back a few years ago Jim (SF) gave me 3 large sheets of glass which will be perfect for the outside of the frame..so now am all gung ho to finish Paul's and on with mine...here's a photo of it..it's 20x 26" just perfect for the window..I think..now sure how I'll like something dangling and hiding part of the view..you will note that there are 5 floormats in 1st stage painting on linoleum..they will also be Georgian Bay scenes with loons..
I've got the pattern displayed and blocked off, bevels to the side, and now it's cutting time..just looking for an extension cord, of course with the zillion lights I had outside connected to that music/light display they are still there..so it's snowing lightly, better get out and pick them up...
Vicki, have you tried that Excedrin Migraine..know I keep talking about it but I always had migraines, would have to take a trip to hospital for a shot..would put me out for the day and then in a few weeks they'd be back..now when I feel one coming on, I take 2 pills, sit for about 20 minutes, yep I sit quietly and virtually I can feel is leave..sure would be worth a try...it's over the counter meds..can't get it here so got my supply while in Florida..drug runner...lol..
Carol, don't know why they insist on putting gardening magazines right at the cashier table...guess who came home with 2...
OMG Betty! I didn't realize you made a V-santa for me...So exciting. Now, maybe you should wait on the shipping! It will cost a fortune to send via mail...Since we are planning to meet in April, I am sure Santa could use a rest and make those miles too...LOL I will have a great story to tell about receiving him. Now, when i asked about receiving my gift, what I meant was Did You get The one I sent to You??
Oh also, still behind-but wanted to say i think your Stained glass Bird feeders is going to be stunning! Will you put the making of that on the Craft thread too? Should be loads of fun to watch you making it, your mom will absolutley love it! LOL so will your feathered friends.
...So short break, here got the bags unpacked and ready to repack, lol never ending.
House is straightened and cleaned...so will get dressed and venture out to the pancake to look for seeds! LOL liz, got my bat handy too incase I must chase away a hungry critter...OH MG! Forgot to tell you I found our missing snake!! Almost stepped on it. Ahhhhh, screamed for DD to come come and collect it...Back in it's tank safe and sound. whew!
well, back at it.
Can you hear me 'scream'..got 3 pieces of glass cut and 'bang' ... thought to myself there goes a diamond bit circular blade - $125.00 to replace..yuk..well thought I'd check it out..doesn't seem like it's brok..took the cover off the hand unit..can be stationery or stable..anyway..loosened the wheels, so, going to sit, look at it, go check to see if I have a video on blade replacement...perhaps I can fix it on my own..maybe not..but I'll give it a good try before I call in the 'marines'
Wouldn't you know..things were going to good..thought by tomorrow it could be framed...so wish me luck..
Oh yes, I did remember to unplug the unit because I'm working around the water container to the unit..lol..see I'm not just a pretty face...
Lordy, lordy...
oh betty, be careful, maby you can get it back to running again, now what caused it to do that it just stopped in cutting?
Seed,
AWWW....What a beautiful picture of your family! Your kids all look so handsome/pretty! Your DH looks like a gem! Double AWWWW.......Thanks for posting it!
Betty,
Have NO clue what i am looking at in your last picture! it is colorful--though!....I DO see a "band"--is that what makes it a band saw?....:o)..and I work at HD????
You know what--Betty dearest--I would just as well want to see a beautiful, sexy, colorful picture of YOU! How about it? I am sure you have a favorite somewhere! NO craft table! NO bunch of other women around! NO grandkids....just YOU! "PLEASE!!!!!"
Post one here for all your DG family. You inspire us so much!
If you don't have one--get all doozied up and ask someone to snap one of you! Bribe him/her if you have to....
Re my "gentleman"----you are assuming he is single/widowed/divorced or whatever--in other words, A-V-A-I-L-A-B-L-E. I am NOT assuming that! If he is--and if he so tells me--it will change the whole picture. Meanwhile---I am just hanging loose.....still No response.....
OK! back to straightening up my storage area! Got interrupted by a neighbor who came by and wanted to know if I would go walking with her. We did--up the road to the shopping center (the Dollar Store)--and back--about 2 1/2 miles. We BOTH need to do this more often! It is always more fun to have someone to chat with when you are "hoofing"...
Love to you all, Gita
Girls, it's my Taurus3-glass cutting machine..very much like a scroll saw but made for glass...sure could use it for the smaller pieces I'm doing..anyway, got it back together..cut about 2 pieces and it's the same..either the black belt has stretched or I didn't have it quite together properly..working by hand..it's starting to take shape but boy could I use the saw..so, I'll either take it apart and hope it's tip top shape, or I'll leave it and call Greg in the morning or just order a new rubber support belt...goodness knows what I'll get up to..but it's starting to get dark..I'm a little tired, so a couple more pieces to my piece and I'll call it a night..sit and look at those new gardening books...can't get into mischief doing that now could I...
Gita..think last summer I took the grandchildren to a fort in Midland and they took a photo of me..if you click on my name and scroll down, think you'll find it...
Back to the grind..tummy getting hungry..better find something to fill it...
