Thanks Lea, I have a hardy pink, but would love the Red star. I don't have a red hibiscus.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hey! Jax, I wondered what happened to you!

I know the butterfly people ( I think I do) , but who are the bird and hummer people? I need to know, not only for Jax's list, but also for the general swap.

I'll wait my turn at the trough, but not for long! OINK!

Suzy

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Suzy pointed me to this thread because she knew I'd have fun lurking... especially if anybody is "talking up" basil! :-)

Robyn, 'Pruden's Purple' isn't a dark colored tomato like 'Cherokee Purple' (which is more like one of the "black" tomatoes)... it's a pink. But it did really well for me last year, and I'll grow it again!

I think "eyeball plant" is aka "toothache plant" -- somebody mentioned it over in the herb forum once, I think, as having mouth-numbing properties, although I've never chewed on it.

OK, back to lurking... Suzy is going to be up to her ears in seed packets soon! LOL

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

Hello Troops,

I've spent the morning going through seeds and am going to post a partial list of what I'm sending Suzy. I'm afraid I don't have time to play right now (and it's ticking me off no end) so if there's anything you see that you'd like to have you'll have to sweet talk Suzy into setting them aside for you. Bless that girl's heart she's got the patience of a saint and the organizational skills of a .... a ..... I can't event think of anything as organized as she.

A lot of these are one-shot deals. Some of them are left-overs from other swaps where the folks were waaaay to generous with their seed (so I took out what I needed and am sending the rest along for the next little piggy. I have another gallon ziplock baggie to go through yet and will update the list hopefully tomorrow.

OK here we go....

Amaranth - Summer Poincettia (tri-color)
Buddleja Guinevere - Butterfly Bush
Campanula - Elizabeth
Candytuft - Dwarf Fairy Mix
Celosia - Pink Candles
Chinese Lantern
Cleome - Pink
Columbine - Dk Blue
Columbine - Purple
Coneflower - Magnus
Coneflower - White Swan
Coreopsis - Yellow
Cosmos - ?
Cypress Vine - Red
Forget-me-Nots
Gaillardia - Blanket Flower
Hollyhock - Color Unknown
Ironweed
Jacob's Ladder - Blue
Joe Pye Weed - Gateway
Liatris - Lavender
Love in a Puff Vine
Lychnis Coronaria - Bright Pink Rose Campion
Morning Glory - Ensign Dwarf Red
Morning Glory - Grandpa Ott
Morning Glory - Henka Blue
Morning Glory - Pink w/ Blue Star
Morning Glory - Red
Morning Glory 'Blue Enchantment'
Morning Glory Mix
Nicotiana - Mixed Colors
Obedient Plant - White
Poppy - Lavender
Rudbeckia Maxima
Rudbekia Goldstrum - Black Eye Susan
Sea Holly
Vitex - Lilac Chaste Tree
Zinnia - California Wonder

I also have some false indigo seed. If anyone is interested shoot me a DMail and I'll include it, otherwise I won't send it as I understand trees, shrubs, bushes etc. are excluded from this swap.

My wants are few right now as I'm just too unsettled and undecided. The only things I'm sure of is that I'm doing a tropical garden this year (I was the originator of the castor bean hub-bub) so anything that might fit in with that theme would be appreciated mightily. Oh and I could also use some celosia seed (Cristata Group...I call them the "brain kind") if anyone has any to spare.

Carry on my fellow oinkers. I'll try to get the rest of my list posted tomorrow.

La

pam

Hi Kids,

Doncha love how Lala puts it all on me? I guess since I am in charge, Suzy, I want Lala Jane's:

Morning Glory - Ensign Dwarf Red.
Morning Glory 'Blue Enchantment'
Candytuft - Dwarf Fairy Mix

Okay Suzy, they're yours!

Ah, that is NOT gonna work (although I already promised myself that I could have those LOL!.) *If you want something from Lala_Jane's list, put it in writing, and try to get it on that sheet of paper you're sending me anyway...then put it in the same envie as your seeds. I cannot make any more lists and be expected to actually be able to USE them. LOL!*

Give me something like this:
From Lala_ Jane's list, I want:
Coneflower
Grandpa Otts Morning Glory

Joyce/Jax - Did you figure out we need a wishlist from you, or are you working on it? Also, go through some "have" lists above and find some stuff, but we really need that wishlist of general stuff and specific stuff for youre garden.. ..

Ansonfan, Did you need this from Dryad's list? Soapwort (Saponaria officinalis)

Grampapa, Is English Lavender on your wishlist?

Fairy, Do you still need Joseph's Coat, Amaranthus tricolor?

Ah, life is good inthe world of seeds....

Suzy

>>Who wanted Joseph's Coat, Amaranthus tricolor? I think it was either Robynznest or Maozamom.

Suzy -- i searched all 3 threads and used "Joseph's Coat" & "Amaranthus tricolor" as search terms... and came up empty. Unless there was a typo on either end... i can't find it [spelling for the search as to be exact] and i'm NOT going thru all the posts (as we have to be well over 1000) unless i stumble upon it. LOL.

hopefully someone else will know.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh, I forgot to say, TC, I did that too since I have my handy-dandy list that you made for me. It's probably in my dmail - oh, my! That dmail is something I need to work out better if I do this next year!

Suzy

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I found i did most of my trading in DMail... I think this will be easier to "organize" since it's all in there.. .instead of searching the treads... 'specially since you cant get them open.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Pamsue, you're right! I just didn't want anybody to expect a purple tomato to be, well, purple LOL. Purple peppers on the other hand, really are purple! :-)

I'd like to try 'Fairytale' eggplant some year because they look so pretty, but I can never keep up with the flea beetles, so my eggplants always perish (yes, even under row covers). A couple of plants in a container might be possible to keep beetle-free! Thanks for the idea!

OK, sorry, I'll stop kibbitzing now & cluttering up this thread!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hi Critter, You are *always* welcome, and never a clutterer! And I didn't know that abot tomatoes, either.

I'd like to try Fairytale eggplant, too, but just in theory. LOL!

Suzy

(jax) Dundalk, MD(Zone 7a)

O.K., I know I am running late, please forgive me. Here is my long, long list of wants. I did dmail a couple of people, but no results yet.

pam

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4386524

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks Fairy, American isn't supposed to be as invasive as the chinese or the japanese. But I guess I could try it.

Tropical gardens can be everything that grows native to someone who live in like Zone 10 or 11. Exotic plants. Somethings that we would have to keep in containers and bring indoor for the fall and winter months.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Robyn-did you want me to put some in for you?? You could always try it in a pot w/ a trellis in it 1st?? Plus the purple looks soooo pretty!!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes please, I think they are just so beautiful. I have a huge container I can sink in the ground if need be,
Thanks you

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Okee Dokee-gotcha!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I've had those little signet Marigolds tucked everywhere, and I love them... but I'm not sure they did much to repel any sort of pest! They're sure pretty, though. Robyn, I should've known you knew all about purple tomatoes already. :-)

Job's Tears isn't much to look at (looks a lot like that nasty tall Johnson grass to me, so I stick it in a back corner), but I *love* the seeds. They come in a lovely array of earth tones, and they have a sort of natural "hole" going through the center, so they're really easy to run a needle through! I've got a whole bag of old ones squirreled away for a "rainy day" necklace project with my nieces.

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Hey gang! I finally got a chance to do a second visit of everyone's lasted "have" list, and will dmail you with my wishes - if they are already taken please forgive me!!!
