Susy, I can't change it to edit it! Too many edits for the day -- already! LOL! Go to the 2nd post in this thread for my list. Pick anything you want!!!

Tuinkabouter, Try this for the basils
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4390562
It's ansonfan's list (above) and I'm sure he'll tag one for you.

Shirley>MD! You stayed! So sorry for the mix up on your sign up, and the not so warm welcome I gave you....I was confused, and I apologize!!!!!!

Suzy

's-Gravenhage, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

AMSOFAN,

Can I have some Siam Queen and Cinamon basil from you? I must have overlooked them but would really like to get some....

Will confirm by d-mail.

Thanks so much!

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow I should have done that a long time ago huh?
Tuinkabouter Siam Queen Basil, Cinnamon Basil, White Borage
Margaran: Toadflax Butter and Eggs
Starlight: Feverfew
Suzy: Balsam, Balsam, and Balsam
Suzybell: Lemon Basil and Cilantro

The reason that the Thai Basil "Siam Queen" is in demand is because it not only smells wonderful, it is a very beautiful plant. Above the green leaves rises dark purple and white blooms that will really catch attention. It can easily be used as an ornamental as well.

The Queen Anne's Pocket Melon isn't great to eat - well not like cantelope, but it does have a smell reminiscent of cantelope, but even better. I have noticed the scent while working in the garden, but a bowl of them in the house is a great way to get the appetite ready for a big meal - sort of like pumpkin pie does.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

LOL! Probably, Ansonfan. Plus, it's tough to see every offering unless you watch it like a hawk. Spaced out with those green links draws your attention to it.

Rachierabbit, Your list is beautiful.. and includes your wishlist, just like I wanted.

All ---

Remember the wine box full of seeds Weezingreens from Alaska is sending? They are here! And, OMG! I might need a couple bottles of that wine, too!

If you can, try to picture a wine box (from a case of wine) filled to the top with ziploc bags full of little baggies of seed. No matter what you are picturing the reality is quite different! First off, it is perfectly organized. Each Ziploc only contains certain kinds of seed, for one thing. If you have never seen WZ's packs of seed, they are very unusual. Some of the packs themselves are pieces of paper printed on a color printer, cut, and then folded and glued to look just like a pack of commercial seeds. Others have a strip of paper with a color picture of the flower and then all the sowing and growing instructions.

All these things weigh more than a plain plastic baggie, so keep that in mind regarding postage....in fact, it won't hurt you all to re read this post, especialy right before you send your envelope/box:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/801335/

Back to the seeds. I started dmailing people to ask them for their top 10 picks from her tradelist, but I decided I would just do a mass mailing from the thread.

By DMAIL::::::: I need a list of your top 10 picks from her tradelist to my dmail with the subject line 'MY WZ Seed Wishlist', or 'My Weezingreen's Seed Wishlist' - you get the idea. If you already got a dmail and answered it, then you don't have to do it a second time. This is not first come first served, so if you can't get to it right away, it's ok.

If you think you are close to your seed limit, guess what? WZ says "go for it", which means the limits do not include these seeds. Yay!!! Here's a link to her trade page:

http://davesgarden.com/community/trading/list.php?member=Weezingreens

My idea is to try to fill the top picks of the players, and then open it up to the trough for any extras there may be. I do NOT know how this is going to work. WZ lives in Alaska, and reminded me that somebody from Misissippi, for example, is going to have trouble with the majority of the seed. There is a lot of seed and a lot of paper. Not all the seed from the website is going to be in the box, and not all of it ina quantity for 30 people.

There is some seed that needs to be repackaged into smaller parcels. I have only opened up 2 of the ziplocs to see what was what, I want to do it, but I hardly have the space, and also think it might be easier with Dryad to help me make inventory lists or something. WZ already told me there are no meconopsis, so thought I'd tell you. There may be some later, though.

Dryad is out until Tuesday, but hopefully Ms. Spreadsheet and I can cook up something equitable for everybody. After the top 10, we'll try to spread out the feedings at the trough so that no matter when you are online, you will at least have first access to some of the seeds.

Remember: The top 10 picks is not a first come, first served thing, so don't kill yourselves being the first to answer.

WZ if you're reading, thank you so much for sending these!!!!

Suzy

's-Gravenhage, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

ANYONE,
I do have meconopsis. Seems some of you are looking for it. However only the yellow and orange ones. The blue ones seem to be in demand with you lot and hard for you to get by. I may have a solution. I'f you're interested, just let me know and we will work it out!

Critterologist has a lot of basil and once posted a recipe (sort of), so I dmailed her about that Siam Queen Basil of Ansonfan's and here's what she had to say:

"It has good flavor, and huge clumps of purple flowers... I pinch back a couple of plants to use for cooking and let the rest bloom for "pretty." I use the leaves in stir-fry and in Thai curry (I cheat and get "Taste of Thailand" curry mix in those pouches, then add coconut milk and simmer with meat and veggies). I also like to toss a few leaves into a green salad -- they have an anise flavor and scent. "

Weez, smooch, smooch from me, too. even if I don't get anything out of this batch, although I'm sure there will be something. you have the most interesting things, and I'm fortunate enough to live in a cold enough zone that I can grow some of your plants.

wind -- your yellow was prettier than mine. I found mine to be 'faded' yellow ... i was hoping for 'bold'. And I also found they are not as 'aromatic' than the magenta/fuchsia ones. i'm adding white to my collection this year.

Hello Children, Looks like all is going well.

This is a wishlist Swap, you are suposed to be granting wishes, so I hope you are looking at people's wishlists and thinking what you have that would fit the bill.

Fairy, I'm the one with the Hibiscus 'Luna Pink Swirl' on her list, and it was snapped up the day the Burpee catalog came out with a photo and a cost of 10 seeds for $4.95.LOL!

Ask your dh if he's heard of "Caprese Salad" That's the one I was talking about Slices of fresh mozzerella cheese, slices of tomato, with handfuls of full basil leaves in between. All drenched or marinated in a vinaigrette.

Connie, Conie, Connie, You of all people know the rules of a swap -- read the directions!!! ROTFLMAO!
