That's too bad.
Mom's got her appt. in 45 mins. so I should go now. It was nice talking to you, Marie.
stop and visit, talk all you want pt 9
Hi, Marie, if you are still around! I just got back home--DH and I had some business to attend to and I still have to go to Wal-Mart and pick up a couple of RX's for DH. I will do that this afternoon before I pick-up my 14 yr. old DGD at school. She usually rides the bus to her house but she has a pair of pants she wants me to hem up for her band concert on Saturday so I am picking her up today.
I used to work for a man who went to Mexico for a month every February where it was warm while it was cold here. He didn't call in all that much because of the cost of an international call (he was a tightwad). However, if he went anywhere in the U.S. he would always call in while he was away. I think he did it just to make sure I was at the office and not out goofing off somewhere. There was another boss who was in the business, too, so I don't know why the big boss thought he had to check on me. It's not like I wasn't going to come into the office at all while he was away. I think bosses like that are just control freaks and when they are that far away they don't have control of everything. LOL
It's getting colder here. High today to be in the 50's and then get colder as the week goes on with highs in the mid-40's and lows in the mid-20's. BRRRRR
Hi Dr. Mau :o)
My boss knows we can hadnle things but he just cannot accept that though. It does not matter where he goes he call us!! I guess everyone needs to feel needed. He can be a big pain in the patoot but He has a really big heart.
That is too cold for me!! It is 65 here now. I am looking ofrward to nights in the 50's and days in the 70s. Hopefully just another couple of weeks before we get there.
Hi Marie and Dr. Mau!
Hello princes Tammy. How are you?
Tickled pink now that we are back to playing the game and I am racking up points! HE HE HE How are you, Marie? :)
I am good. My boss left and I am enjoying the best apple ever. It is a honey crisp.
I a actually ahving an ok day at the moment. I got walloped with an unexpected medical bill so not too happy about that but what can you do.
edited because it is not a medical issue just a darn bill.

Well I hope it is nothing major, Marie!
Hi everyone, how are you all? Still hurts to type, but I had to tell you about my morning. You know I drive the kids 3.5 miles to the bus stop, right? Well, this morning, we had snow, not alot, just enough to make the roads a mess. I slid a couple times (in 4WD) taking the kids, but got them on the bus and home ok. Got home and my sister calls, my kids bus is in the ditch about 1/4 mile from her house. So I went to go get them, and bring them home, and hit a patch of black ice and hit a guard rail :(( Pics to follow. I'm not hurt, but I did a number on the front end and drivers side of the car. I did drive it far enough to get the kids home safely.
First of 4 pics
Oh Janis I sure hope you are really alright!
Are you sure you are ok Janice? That does not look good. Are the kids ok? that is the very reason I will continue to live in the desert even if I love how green you all have it in the summer.
Thanks Tammy, just a little shook up. My back was hurting a bit earlier, but I figure I'll be sore tomorrow. I was only going about 25 MPH or so when I started to slide. But it was downhill and around a turn LOL I was just sick that I wrecked it, I kept apologizing to Mike :(( The tow truck just left to take it to Mike's station a bit ago, I'm kind of waiting to hear from him. I'm not sure what we are gonna do about me driving the kids to the bus stop. When is your son's surgery?
Good, I hope nothing else comes of the wreck, Janis!
His surgery is tomorrow, we have to be there at 11:45 then hurry up and wait as they say! LOL
Janis, I am so sorry about your accident. I surely do hope you are okay. That looks like quite a bit of damage to your bumper and fender. :o((( I just can't imagine why the school officials had buses out on roads with "black ice" on them! Surely, the safety of the children and other motorists should come first! Of, course, I know they do things differently up north than we do down here in the mid-south---Just one teeny bit of ice and/or snow shuts down the schools around here.
That was a nasty wreck you were in too, Celia!
Misty, be sure to keep us posted about your son's wrist surgery tomorrow.
I've been up since 4 a.m. so I am sure that I will be "fading fast" in a little bit.
Y'all have a good evening. Talk to y'all tomorrow.
Mau
I sure will, Mau. Have a great night! :)
Hi everyone! Janis, so sorry about your accident! I agree with everyone...you WILL most probably be sore tomorrow. But I am glad everyone is ok.!
Tammy...good luck on your son's surgery tomorrow. Keep us posted!
I have had several car accidents in my lifetime...none of which were my fault. Got a whiplash once..that wasn't fun. Another one was two weeks before my wedding. I totalled my parent's car...but not my fault. I had my head split wide open, from hitting the windshield. Lucky I didn't go through it!! Still had the wedding, but my hair looked awful in the wedding pics!!! The beautician had to pull it forward to cover the shaved place...lol! Oh well....memories!
Say...if you all want to see me and others from Ohio...go to the Ohio forum. Hmmm...can't even think of the name of the thread! Let me go look. BRB
ok....the Ohio River Valley Forum....names with faces thread.
I think it's always fun to see who you are talking to!
Well..gonna check some of the other forums. Hope you all have a good evening!
HI Marcy! Oh my, a week before the wedding! At least you were lucky and survived it!
I have no idea how long things will take tomorrow, but I will be on as soon as I can! :)
Janis? You still feeling okay? I know it's hard for you to type but we're concerned.
Tammy, let us know. I will be at work for the first time since dad passed so I won't be able to talk until I get home.
Marcy! That was aweful!
Well, in spite of my good intentions, I find myself still awake, but yawning heavily, and it is almost 10 p.m. I just wanted to check in once more before I go to bed.
Marcy, that is a great thread over there on the ORVG. Love your photo!!--Somehow I just knew you would have a big smile on your face, sweet lady!! That was some story about the wreck a week before your wedding--now you can laugh about it but I'm sure you weren't laughing at the time!
The main reason I wanted to check in again is because I talked with Terry earlier tonight. She is not feeling well and she asked me to tell y'all that it may be several days before she does any posting. However, she will try to check in and read along with us so y'all be sure and say "Hi" to her whenever you are here. I'll be talking to her every day or two so I will keep you posted on how she is doing.
--and now I really am going to bed. Good night all!
Mau

Good morning everyone!
Sorry, Marie--been there, done that, don't want to go there again! You have my sympathy!!! LOL
Marcy--glad you got the sound and mic working!
Tammy--thinking about you and your son today. I pray that all goes well.
Hi, Janis and Terry! We'll be glad when the two of you can join us full-time again!
Celia--have a good day at work. I hope the following will be especially meaningful to you.
I just checked my email and found this waiting for me. I have seen it before but it never hurts to be reminded again.
This is the explanation and the link:
The Dash
In July 2006, a short 3-minute movie was launched on the Internet called The Dash. Since then, over 40 million people from around the world have watched it; and over 20,000 a day continue to watch it as a result of people passing it along.
The movie has been more successful than anyone could have ever imagined. More importantly, however, it has inspired many, many people to reflect on their lives and ask that all important question, 'Are my priorities where they should be?'
I hope you enjoy this movie and share it with those who are close to you.
