Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 8

LOL I may lose too many points to even make it till February, though! I will just have to 'hide out' to stay safe! NOT LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Call me a "dumb blonde" or more appropriately a "dumb gray-hair", but what in the world are y'all talking about? Princess Tammy and crowns, etc.?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL Mau! I am in a little game with some of my other friends and we are playing to be "Princess" for the month! I just happened to be picked first! LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh, gotcha. Do we get to vote for you somewhere?

I wish! I may need them! LOL It is based on a point system and we can earn points by catching others making boo boos, but can also lose points being caught in our own boo boos! LOL

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Well Marilyn, I'm glad you asked her that question, cause I was sitting here wondering what I missed too...lol! And I just had a feeling you had told me when your DH's BD was....hahaahaha. Told ya I was brain dead sometimes!
Yes...I DO belong on the Tropical forum because I have a tropical garden! I bring it ALL inside in the winter. Looks like a jungle in here! No...I don't have a greenhouse..yet!
And Don is Tropicman on the tropical forum. He and I go way back...even before Dave' Garden. Long time friends. He is the one who got me started on tropicals in fact....and gave me much of what I have too. As I told Tammy, he is a nice old man....LOL!!! (our age).
We used to have a friend from England that we talked to, and shared plants and seeds with too. Somehow we both lost track of her. Oh...and Don is the one with 23 grandkids...not me!!!
Ok...gotta go fix supper here. Just finally got back on my treadmill. Whew! Was that hard!
But I did 1/2 mile. Gotta start slow and build up. BBL

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

What is for dinner? This is my last free week. I can start driving this weekend.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Well..having chicken patties...some kind of potatoes or rice, and a veggie. The butcher at our little grocery in town, runs chicken breasts through the cuber...like they do cube steaks? And they are so good and quick to fix! He sells tons of them!
Ok...gotta get busy...bbl

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

It's great that you have a little grocery store like that nearby, Marcy. Is that where your DH works part-time? Sounds like a good supper. We do have one grocery store here that will still cut meat to your liking. The others, like Wal-Mart, only offer the pre-packaged stuff. Yuck!! We will be having home-made soup which I made over the weekend but we have only eaten from it twice so we aren't burned out on it yet. It's not that cold outside but it seems cold in our house for some reason. However, the thermostat says it is 71º in here but it sure seems colder than that. Must be our thin blood (DH and I both take blood thinner because we have both had heart valve surgery.)

Wish I had a treadmill--I need to exercise but I hate walking outdoors--it's either too hot, too cold, too wet or too dry--gotta blame the weather for my laziness!! LOL

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Both dinners sound good. I am hungry :o)

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Yep, Marilyn...that's the same store where he works. It is a very small store..has 5 isles...lol....and a meat counter! 2 cash registers...and they take no credit cards! Cash only!
Some of the meat is pre-pkgd...but you know that Gary just pkgd it. We actually have people from TN come here to buy sausage!!! That is hard to believe...but it's true! And personally, I don't see what is so great about their sausage....but I guess people like it. Just tastes like sausage to me! They do make a good ham loaf though. Upstairs used to be where the owner lived at one time, yrs ago. There is still a stove up there and I guess they mix up the ham loaf in the meat dept..and take it up there and bake it. Then they sell it at the counter. All you have to do is heat it up then.
Marilyn, maybe you are like me. When it warms up outside, I get colder! I know...makes no sense...but it does take my body a few days to acclimate itself to the weather...either direction it goes. And I don't take blood thinner. But I do take two BP meds.
Soup is always good. We eat a lot of homemade soups in the winter. DH loves soup of any kind! He just finished up our 15 bean soup for lunch today. I made that over the weekend.

(Zone 7a)

I'm extremely hungry now! LOL SIL went shopping today and she and my DB are fixing dinner now. Potatoes and ham bake. Mmm...

I never knew how many details were involved after someone passed away. Whew! I think this will be the trial run for when mom goES. Dad had a trust fund for us and the paperwork to get that taken care of is amazingly tall! LOL

When we were at the mortuary yesterday, I got to pick out a tiny urn to have some of dad's ashes put into. It's blue withe little seagulls on it and some gold filigree. Very pretty.

Is the cutie with crown on right now? Princess Tammy, please step forward!

(Zone 7a)

Princess Tammy? Get off the computer until the storm passes! Don't want you going POOF!!! LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey all, sirens just went off for a long time, so if I am gonna go poof, now is the time being with my friends! LOL Having a bad evening myself after my oldest came home with a broken hand! :( Will find out more tomorrow when I find out if the school insurance ever went into effect or not, and what has to be done! :(

(Zone 7a)

That comes first. Talk to you later. I might be on late so try me.

Love ya, girl! I mean, Princess!!! LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Sirens? Tornado warning, or something else? Take care, Tammy and be safe! and Sorry about the broken hand on your oldest.

Yes, Celia there are always a lot of details to take care of when someone passes. Sounds like your dad had things in order, though, which makes it easier for the family.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well I hope it isn't broke, but I am sure it is from the looks of it and he can't bend it from the wrist! It is all poofed up on the top. :( Thankfully not around the growth plate, which my other son broke some years back!
Love ya, too SWORD Woman! LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Tornado warnings/watch.
I won't get a dime out of his father to help on it either!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

If he broke it at school, is the school liable for any of the medical bills?

Edited to say that a tornado warning means there is a tornado in your area--a watch means that there is a possibility of a tornado developing in your area. The sirens down here aren't sounded unless there is a warning. Do you have a safe place to go to and if so, why aren't you there NOW?

Aren't you going to the hospital?

Hey Marcy! If I did the math right, by the time I'm YOUR age, I'll be married 43 yrs. That's of course, if you're Mau's age, which you seem to be agreeing to...lol...

Had some lightening up here, some rain, not near what they said. Tornado watch is in effect till 9pm, last I saw anyway.

Lady from the furniture store called me today. She wasn't in when we went there on Fri. I told her I didn't like couch #1 up there and why. I told her about another couch I liked, but it wasn't in leather and it was a brand I'm not comfortable with. She did tell me that the brand is something that will last somebody about 5 yrs. Who buys a couch and wants it to last for just 5 yrs? So anyway, that couch was exactly what I see in my head as the couch I'm seeking, but in leather and a better name. She went around today and found about 4 she thinks fit what I want. So we'll see!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

No, not since we had to sign a waiver before he could play sports. We have no insurance other than the crap we signed him up for, which from the way it sounds sucks! His GF's mom works in the Super's office at school and takes care of all the paperwork and monies, so she gave me some more info, which was depressing! Sorry all, just really down right now! :(

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Who is the cute little blonde, Celia? One of your nieces?
Good luck on the continuing search for a couch, Terry. and yes, Marcy and I are the same age except I am about 6 weeks older than she is. She was born on Pau's birthday--4 years earlier than he, though.

(Zone 7a)

Tammy! That's terrible! For your sake, I hope it isn't broken.

(Zone 7a)

My nephew's daughter, Rainy. I am staying at her Opa's house right now.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks Celia!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

I, too, hope his hand isn't broken, Tammy. For his sake and for the fact that y'all don't have health insurance on him.

Edited to add that I am going to say good night to all. I was up too late last night and then up early this morning so I am tired. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Mau! He just called and they found it on the internet where he does have the school insurance, but it sucks and won't cover much of anything!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Sorry to hear about that Tammy. Let us know what develops. Good night again.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Mau, have a good night!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, more sirens. Said on the news earlier that there was an unconfirmed about 20 some miles West from here earlier that took out some barns and other buildings. :(

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Farther West there is one confirmed dead and two critically injured. :( They had at first said all 3 were dead, then changed it. The one closer to us has at least 25 dead cows, with lots of buildings gone, and power outage. We aren't out of it till about 5am, but I gotta get some sleep. The boys rooms are upstairs, so Dustin gets Sienna's room for tonight, and since Brandon is injured I gave him ours and we will all sleep on the couches! I prob won't be on till later tomorrow since I have to take Brandon to get him checked out and fixed.
HUGS to ALL!
Tammy

(Zone 7a)

Thinking of you all night, Tam!

Hugs and kisses to everybody and goodnight!

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Good morning all.
Tammy saying prayers that it is not broken. That insurance thing sucks I sure wish they would make it affordable for those of us who can not afford it.
Celia your great niece is adorable!!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I forgot something I wanted to tell Tammy last night. I was speaking to a former neighbor, lovely elderly lady, and she was telling me about 1 of her grandkids and where he'd like to attend college in fall '09. He lives in Columbia, MO, but is thinking of going to college down there in Rolla. She then told me about her nephew, didn't I remember her nephew? Why yes, I do remember him. Seems he's moved......to St. James! It's a small world...☺

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Good morning all! Hugggs Celia. Your little great niece is adorable!
Tammy...hope his hand is not broken! Keep us informed.
Terry....yep..I am Marilyn's age....I will be 66 on Jan. 23rd. But I am not old. I don't feel old...and you are only as old as you feel!! ☺
I don't even have hardly any grey hair...just along the temples. And I don't color it either! Just got my daddy's genes I think! He had almost black hair till the day he died. Guess I had to get something good...lol. The rest of my body isn't in such good shape! Can't see...can't hear...etc.!!
Well...enough about that!
Sorry to hear about the tornadoes Tammy. I hate being under a tornado warning or even a watch...so nerve wracking!!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Guess I will echo all the "Good Mornings" LOL It is very overcast here with thunderstorms predicted. Wind is beginning to pick up some--we'll be keeping an eye on the sky!
Sorry to hear about those tornadoes up your way, Tammy, and especially about the resulting death and injuries. Tornadoes can certainly be an awesome display of nature at its worst!

I don't feel "old" either, Marcy. My main problem is that I need to lose at least 20 lbs. and possibly 30. I know I would feel better if I lost some weight. But, I certainly don't "feel" old.
My gray hair is hereditary--my mother's father had beautiful gray hair from the time he was in his 40's at least and my mother, too, and now it has passed down to me. I colored my hair for a long time but when there was finally so much gray that I had to color it every 3 weeks to keep it covered, I said, "Enough is enough". That was about 2 1/2 years ago and I have been "au naturel" with my gray hair ever since. :o)))

I suppose I should get up from here and get some washing or house cleaning taken care of. That's no fun but one of the "necessary evils" in life. LOL Be back later. . .

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone!

It's raining again this morning and temps in the mid 30s.

Not much to report. Did you find out about your boy's hand?

I feel the advances of age on occassion but it's mostly in the morning getting up. Stiff and sore.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Good morning, Celia, although there are only 5 minutes left in my morning and then it will be noon. :o)
Is your Dad's funeral in the morning? If so, I hope it is not raining then.
It is 66º here and also raining although we are much warmer here than you are.

(Zone 7a)

Tomorrow afternoon. Full military honors. It's going to be nice. We're going to video it and Scott an account with YouTube. We will post a link so you can see it if you're interested.
