Seandor... You should have no problem growing the ornamental millet at all and it is beautiful in the yard and also in combo planters as the tall plant.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

OK -- I've got my list updated as to who is getting what from me, and the "extras" that are going to Suzy

Again... if there is something you want, I find it easier to track it in a Dmail ... as in the flurry of posts, i may miss your request.

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

LeBug, your perception is pretty good. LOL ; ) Do you like all the salvias mentioned above?

I'm just kidding. REALLY.
I like watching you all wheel and deal, and I'm learning stuff along the way.
~Lucy

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

whoever asked I'm in zone 7b but so close to 8 that I can usually get by sheltering a plant.

If you were here you could stand under my umbrella ella ella
I would like some chickory

I now know exactly what it means by 'men are from mars' :-o

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Starlight, I may try that this year, I already use their 'Plant Health Care for Seedlings', the only one I've found that I like. That root shield sounds like it might be good for my hostas in the pots too, I always worry about them they seem to stay too moist for me I use the H202 on them. Thanks for turning me on to that. I'm sure I'll use it on some others too. I'll read the article later tonite :)

dryad57, I’d like to have some:
Crepe Myrtle “Pride of India” (I'm pretty sure) - agerstroemia self-gathered 2007

New England Aster - Symphyotrichum novae-angliae self-gathered 2007

Starlight, These sound nice if they aren’t already spoken for:
Luna White Hibiscus
Larkspur ' Mixed Colors"
Fama Dark Eyed Yellow
Fama Ruby
Blue Splash

If anyone has some perennial aster seeds left after this is over I would love to have them, would love to have some taller ones too but I like the shorter ones too, I just like asters but don't want to plant the annuals all of the time too busy planting perennials!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lucy,

Why don't you dip your toe in? Things are winding down a little and we have time to take a look at your wishlist and maybe make some offerings for your consideration.

You all will be happy (or not LOL!) to know that Weezingreens from Alaska, the Seed Queen of us all, will be sending in her delectable delights, too, so all has not been listed yet!

AF: And they are from MARS!

Suzy

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh, LeBug, I have you down for all the leftover Asters that come in; I have Purple something and Alma Potschke here -- they are actually Wind's seeds, I'm just going to pack some up for her.

Suzy

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

I'm mad at you Lucy because you can grow more perenial salvias than I can! :~)>

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I've never done Asters before... how quickly do they grow and bloom?

you know me... i need instant gratification.

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

But Suzy, Wind doesn't NEED any I'll take them all lol

tcs, I think the blooms depend on the plant I'm sure annual asters bloom nicely I've had a few of those just don't like falling in love with an annual then having to plant it over and over again like the annual salvias not the red and white ones the real salvias that aren't perennial here I've had my heart broken a few times on them because I'm in zone denial lol, I grow enough annuals like daturas and purple majesty, impatiens, coleus, vegies, you know that kind of stuff that takes all of your room on the plantstands downstairs lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

TCS - Hopefully somebody will know the answer about seeds, but the easiest and fastest way is cuttings. You pinch them like mums in early summer and then stick the cuttings in the ground and they root and bloom the same year.

Edited: I thought we were talking perennial Asters. The annual asters are wonderful! Very fast and easy from seed. Don't grow them where you did before and dont grow Rud hirta in the same spot either because of Aster yellows, but that's easy to switch things around.

Here is Seastar from seed last year. Comes in 3 flavored mix: Crushed Blueberry (as shown) Crushed Raspberry and Vanilla Bean. (I'm making the colors up as I pimp away.) This is a "Tiger Paws" Aster. If you want a red-only, look in the coop forum for the Fedco coop and put a bid in on Thunderball.

Ansonfan, no problem on the onion and Pigsqueek, but I'll have to get back to you on the tomato to make sure I have enough.

LeBug, we're good to go.

Scottsburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I had a couple volunteer Asters come up in the front yard this year - they didn't get big, but they did bloom. I debated pinching them back for bulk the first year and bloom the second, but decided to just let them go to see how they'd do. They both ended up about 9-12" high, and about 6" wide.

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

Suzy, I will have to think this over, read all the directions, go through my seeds, and get back to you. I REALLY shouldn't. I will look tho, and see what I have and how much.

I hope I'm not gonna hate myself in the morning. LOL : )
~Lucy

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Sorry, HERE is Annual Aster , a "Tiger Paws" Seastar Crushed Blueberry. :)) I doubt the seed will yield the same gorgeous flowers, but I did save some.

Fairy 1004, If you have more Cardinal Climber, I am in need, and so is Dryad.

LeBug, They are WIND's contribution to the swap, and they have your name on them....well, yours and whoever else wants them :)) I have no idea if they come true or if there are any seeds in there, but they are whole flower heads, so there ought to be *something* there.

Lucy - :)))

Dryad, exactly what my cuttings did -- same size and everything, but hey! TCS wanted flowers the first year, she didn't say how big the plant had to be :)

Suzy

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Robynznest, I haven't even posted my seeds yet! I still have to sort through everything . . . so don't back out or I will look like a total slacker! lol.

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Now maybe we all can make some sense out of it lol Not just the new ones joining in and the slacker Seandor he he he

Robyn, get you some lemons and honey and drink the heck out of it for about a week put a bunch of honey in there for the lemon ;-) Several times a day, it will open your head up and take care of those chills if you have them! Take care!

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)
