Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 7

(Zone 7a)

LOL You're funny! Build one! Ah ha ha ha ha ...

DH and I, unfortunately, don't build things. We cant' even get the concrete border in the back finished. You can see the blocks in that pic by the arbor, beyond the lantern. They've been there since...June?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Just go buy some landscaping timbers and do it that way silly! Do it to where you don't need to make any cuts! HA HA HA
Me eating soup, Sienna eating peanut butter crackers! :)

(Zone 7a)

I have crackers and peanutbutter. I also have some yummy marionberry jam my DB sent me from Oregon. I'll have that instead. Then it's off to bed. And I think DH is sleeping in front tof the video game.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Okie dokie, nighty night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite! LOL
HUGS
Tammy

(Zone 7a)

Okay, XOXO, Tam. DH was asleep with the game on...LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Celia and Tammy, you have given me my first laugh of the day!!! Those costumes are hilarious!!! I love the corset, Tammy---and the leather er, uh, bikini, Celia but the dreaded cat "sword"---now that is funny!!!
I was trying to figure out what kind of 'trees' you had growing up the side of your arbor, Celia, when I realized that they are part of the arbor!! LOL silly me!!

Janis, is Jess getting married on the beach somewhere? Why else would you have to wear flip-flops?

No snow here, but "they" said it "felt like" 14º here earlier today. Up to 60, though in a couple of days.

You never did tell me where I can find that corn plant Celia. Are you ordering it from somewhere or did you find it locally? I'm afraid I am going to have to have one, too.

Terry, I have come up with a plan to make John say "yes" to the new couch. You get a pair of tweezers and start picking the dog hairs out of the old couch one-by-one while John is sitting there watching you, of course. Then you start coughing and sneezing and hacking, etc., etc., and he says "Oh, Terry, dear, I am so sorry that you are having such trouble getting the dog hair off the couch and it is aggravating your allergies. Let's go get that new leather couch you want." and you say "Oh, John, thank you, thank you, I love you so much!" and throw your arms around him and give him a great big kiss!!

Well, it works on the TV commercials!!!

Think I'll sneak out of here while nobody's around.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Mau, that won't work. Zoey is one breed of dog I'm not allergic too. Now, if I could go into Krista's room and just sit, I'd be sneezing and having difficulty breathing. Think he'd give the o.k. to get rid of her?? Furniture store called me this morning. gag gag cough cough. T'ain't not way I'm paying that much for a couch. If couch #2 is comfy, I think we're going to go for it.

I've been wearing flip flops since I was a little kid. The "thing" between the toes has never bothered me. I've also got the Crocs and I've got who-knows-how-many pair of wood bottomed clogs. I have way too many pairs of shoes ☺

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

What? are you allergic to Krista? LOL or does she have something in her room that you are allergic to? Couch #2 is pretty--hope it "sits" good!!

Terry, flip-flops don't bother me, either. I've been wearing them since the dinosaur days, which is before any of you young chicks were born! LOL But I'm certainly not going to pay upwards of $20.00 for a pair of 'em!! That's ridiculous. I can buy the ones that are $2.00 per pair and glue my own sequins or whatever on them!!

I have one pair of crocs--and I use those for the original purpose for which they were made---gardening. I don't find them comfortable to shuffle around in when I am out shopping, etc. They are too loose for my liking.

Celia, I have posted the picture of that new-fangled corn plant on a couple of other threads, if you don't mind. (Too late--I've already done it!) I'm trying to find out if anybody else knows anything about them.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

I just got this in an email from a friend so I 'googled' it and found this link:

I don't know anything about the person whose website this is but you can view the polar bear blessing without logging on to the website. I thought it was cute and wanted to pass it along to y'all.

here's the link:

(Zone 7a)

Love that Bear Blessing. I got it in an e-mail with it a few weeks ago.

The only place I could find the corn plant was Gardening How-to magazine and here...

http://www.ngb.org/gardening/varieties/variety_details.cfm?VID=285

...otherwise, I don't know. The magazine said "local garden centers". MAu, post away. It's a magazine pic; what do I care? LOL

18º outside and clear skies.

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7b)

Love the Bear Blessing site, how cute! Thanks for sharing!

(Zone 7a)

Welcome back! Haven't seen you in a couple of days.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Glad y'all liked the polar bear blessing. I, too, thought it was cute.

Have y'all heard about the big, big DG roundup being planned for 2009 for all DGers? It's not a plant trade or anything like that--just a get together so a lot of people can get to meet the people they "talk" with on DG. I'll try to go and get the link to it.

BRB

(Zone 7a)

Oooo...That's enough time to plan for it! I'm in!

Hey everyone!
Mau, I wish that was really me in the pic! LOL Glad we were able to give you a chuckle and not have to worry about running from that mean flyswatter!

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Afternoon everyone!
Loved that polar bear blessing Marilyn!
Celia.....I love that corn plant too! One year, I saw a daylily in a magazine, thinking it was called Red Stella. Well...it stated it was to be at Lowe's garden centers that coming spring. So I figured it would be at other places too...right? Wrong!!!
So then I kept checking at Lowes...over and over and over, until the summer was half over. No one seemed to know anything. I even took the magazine to show them what it said, and what it looked like. Finally, they got a very few in. I am now thinking there is no such thing as a red Stella...because I have never seen them again...anywhere!!
But I have them....LOL!!!
I am going to look that website over carefully and see if they can direct us to a place to get those corn plants.
Well...I have flip flops, crocs,etc...and cant seem to wear any of them and walk! I like them...they don't like me! The crocs wore blisters on my feet where those buttons are...on the outside? I tried them twice...same thing over. Oh well...guess I will just wear my Reeboks.

(Zone 7a)

I'm still checking on that corn plant. It MUST be in my yard this year! LOL

Don't like the Crocs, either, but I DO like the regular clogs.

Red Stella? Hmm...

(Zone 7a)

The only Red Stella I could see on Google was an orchid.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Yeah, Tammy, I wish that I looked like that, too. Would you believe me if I told you I used to have a figure like that? Honestly, I did. When I was 40 and 41, I had the best figure I ever had in my whole life. But I was looking for a good man then and I was doing aerobics and eating better--whatever it took to keep a good figure. I found the good man and when I started cooking for him, my figure started going "south" fast. Now, 24 years and forty pounds later, that good man still loves me and my extra forty pounds!! Now, that's love!! :o)))

Aternoon, Marcy. Send us a pic of the Red Stella daylily if you have one. You have any of those plants you want to share with the rest of us? LOL and if you find out where we can buy that new corn plant, let us know.

I gotta go get something hot to drink.. I'm freezing down here!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh those were the days, Mau! I did at one time, too, but since gone 'south' as well! I, too, have a man that loves me whether skinny or fat, which is great since I am the latter right now! ♥

(Zone 7a)

I think I saw that daylily in one of my seed books. I threw it away though. They called it the Stella de oro of reds.

(Zone 7a)

Humph! Too old now to care WHAT goes south! LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Celia, shame on you, I love Stella's!
Yep, too old to care! LOL Which is why I am eating MORE soup!

(Zone 7a)

I love the way you cook. Enough for 4 meals.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

And there's 5 of us even! LOL

(Zone 7a)

I have that chili on the stove now that we talked about a couple of replies ago.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

That is what Sienna thought I was making yesterday when she seen I was frying hamburger! LOL Chili is her favorite food, other than Fruity Pebbles! :)

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

My head is spinning trying to keep up with you all!! Love those pictures.
I think the DG round up will be on my calendar one way or another I will make it there.
What do you all think? I must admit I will seek out nurseries . I am an addict So I will researcha nd see where I can find my fix once they settle on someplace.

(Zone 7a)

I hopethey do soon. I'm dying to find out where they decide to have it.

Hey, Tammy? If they have it in MO, you'll be coming, right?

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok Marilyn...here is a picture of that Red Stella...for what it's worth! They are just "red"! And small like a Stella. It's not a very good picture though. I think this was taken with my old camera.
I am sure there might be some to share this spring!

Marcy if it was not so cold where you live I would move. That is a beautiful picture!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

It depends on how far away it is, our vehicle stinks and isn't good enough to take very far! :(

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

They'll probably have it somewhere in Texas because Dave has requested it be within 500 miles of him and near a major airport. That leaves out a lot of places.
I think they are going to have a list of places that we can vote on beginning on the 7th.

(Zone 7a)

Time for a new beginning...Tammy and I apparently tlak too much! LOL

we went here...

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Figures, cause I can't afford to, nor would I get on a plane! LOL

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Aww thanks Marie! I have since put a brick border along the driveway, and it looks much better! I am a native Ohioan, but it wouldn't take much to get me to move to some place warmer!!! I hate the cold!! And it IS cold today...barely 20° !!
