5.45 am Sydney time ...it's New Years Eve!
Over a million visitors in town to see our fireworks on the harbour.
Excitment in the air!
2008 ...bring it on!
Lots of things happened in 2007, both good and bad ...as it does every year, that's what life is really, a mix of laughter and tears,
I won't talk about the lows because this is our own "happy garden "place ...but the highs? well I stumbled through the gate here into daves garden and found a whole World ...and I really mean World right here ...friends from places far and near ...drawn by our mutual love of gardening (oh yes alright and food! ha ha ha).
so 2007 goes down as a red letter year!
Tm you asked about the Angels, I only used to have a very fragrant white and the peachy/salmon ...so easy from cuttings to grow that it never occured to me that you could cross them, we have a most limited range in Australia so in the forums I discovered the dynamite news that they make seeds! and you could make your own new types this way.Well you know by now that I am a great fan of seed growing, so thanks to the great gardeners on the Brug forum ...and a paintbrush ...I have dozens and dozens of both the "spindle type pods" on the peachy Angel and about 40 rounder type pods on the white Angel, I have sourced some Australian bred Angels and now have a range of wonderful Angel babies to eventually contribute more Angels to Australia's range.Anyone wanting to follow my progress just hop over to the Australian forum and take a peek at my step by step journey.Anyone can do it I promise:)
Now to all of our happy new friends and everyone else having a great time here in Tm's wonderful greenhouse ...just in case I don't get back before New Year ...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May it bring each and everyone ...adventure and good health
and love ...
"What the World needs now is love ...sweet love ...no, not just for us ...but for everyone ..."

Kim, welcome to our topical world. We come from all over the planet with a common passion...drum roll...Tropical Plants. Some of us are more successful than others and everyone cheers on the other. Not so easy in North Central Texas but I have discovered three others that live within 15 miles of me who have WONDERFUL tropical gardens. Guess that shuts my mouth.
Welcome Kim
Glad to have you aboard!
Any questions ?just ask, plenty of people here, who live where these tropical plants thrive, and will try to help you with, your journey into growing tropical plants!
Kim, anywhere you choose to go in the Tropical Gardening you will find happy people without an ax to grind. Come on board, girl.
Happy New Year.
Thank you all for the warm welcome:) it is so exciting to see what can be done with tropicals.I have a small front yard... that I want to have a tropic feeling...no gh so I will have to be creative!!Soooo about hat red beer? ;^)

Might be green today, but tonite after I have that red beer, they will be red toes and fingers!!!LOL
Pour you glass a of cold beer, add tomato juice until it taste just until your liking, then sprinkle a we bit of salt for flavoring, then sip modestly!!!
Ritz crackers with different types of cheese, and pickles and olives go great with it also!!!!
Sounds like Tman is planning to have fun tonight! :) Red & Green, just like Christmas all over again! HE HE HE
I this an original Kansas drink?
I think I might like it. mmmmm
Yeah right...SIP MODESTLY!!! Lolol....!!!! Give me my root beer, and a diet root beer too!
Nope! I think I've drank it in every state I've ever been!!!!LOL
But there was one nite in particular I drank too many of them, early 60's was at a Oklahoma
Tire and supply convention In Tulsa,my sister was a bookeeper for them, and she told me if I'd like to meet Spanky from the old 30's our gang series, come along with her and she's introduce me to him.Well to make a long story short,we hit it off, right away being jokesters
and pranksters ,he asked me if I like to shoot pool,so off we went 9am off to a pool hall, and drank red beers all day all night, time we got back to the dance at the convention.neither could hardly stand up,let me tell you that was a night to remember!!LOL
Not for sure Louc, but I think he told me he lived right outside Dallas at the time.
Let me tell you this for a old fat man he could dance and out away the alcohol!!!!LOL
Aloha, Yokwe and welcome Kim!
Well it is already 2008 for Chrissy in Oz and me here in Kwaj. I can tell you it looks just fine so far!
To all you new Tropickids, and to all my dear friends of the past year....
Have a WONDERFUL New Year, filled with peace and joy, family, friends and lots of FUN!!!
We never heard of that in Ohio????
And the same to you Shari!!
Thanks Shari, right back at ya! What time is it there again? And a totally different day obviously! :)
Yep, we know Spanky. Used to have a golf tournament here in our community for some charity. Sorry, he has been on the other side for sometime now.
DH knows of the drink...called a Bloody Bull. Now you know! I didn't.
Everybody knew Spanky as a child. Main character in 'Our Gang'...still show those on TV.
