Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

The parrots and the cats might be detrimental to the floating of a lifeboat! LOL

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Just went to check on the new green house and it is down to 32º, even though I had the window open a touch in the sun room, wasn't doing enough good, so I shut it.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Whats the temp outside there?,here it is 28* suppose to get down to 14*,don't think it's going to make it.
Well the beers are getting me sleepy and crosseyed, and when your typing with one finger on each hand and can't see the keyboard, time to say nitey nite!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

It is 27º and says 22º for the low, but doubt it will get there either. Then tomorrow is suppose to be WAY worse! I don't have any plants in there right now cause I want to see how it is gonna do without heat, but I do have a heat lamp that I haven't turned on yet.
Ok Tman, NIGHTY NIGHT! No bunny foofoos for you tonight! LOL

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Yep seeing two of those bunnys right now!!!LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL I missed out on all the fun!!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Ha ha ha so did I ;^(

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Hey you guys want to hear something jaw dropping?

I have been watching the Barrett-Jackson Automobile Auction all day and unless some other car sold higher and I missed it, a 1966 Ford Shelby Cobra SuperSnake sold for 5 million dollars today. This is the only SuperSnake in the world since the other one got destroyed and it was personally owned by Mr. Shelby himself. Mr. Shelby did not expect the car to go for that much and at one point looked like he would pass out. He was shocked speechless. Needless to say so was I. Still am actually.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

WOW!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Yeah, I'm still in shock. Here's a link with some info and pics.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

WOW, someone wanted that care REALLLLLLLLLLLLLY bad!
Tman, hows those bunny's treating you tonight?! ☻

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Drank tooo much lastnite, tummys been upset all day,so I kept busy out in the greenhouse!
Wind has blow real hard all day long, extremely cold.looks like the deep south going to get some of this arctic blast at the end of the week,19* down by Tampa over to Orlando!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

So sorry to hear about your belly ache! I am sure the green house helped, though! :)
It is down to 14º right now with a 'feels like' -1º! And tomorrow is suppose to be worse than that. I am freezing just sitting here in the house with it being so cold outside! LOL I pitty those in the warmer climates when this hits there, what a shock it is gonna be for them!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Yep,lots of people scrambling to get plants covered up or brought in.
Seems like the coldest weather is hitting early this year, looking for 50's come Saturday and into next week, hope so maybe this snow will finally melt!!!!
21* here not sure what the wind chill is but the wind howled all day!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes, the winds have been awful! I went and checked the new green house an hour or so ago and it was down to about 22º, so glad I don't have any plants in there yet! I hope this is the last of this arctic weather we have, cause my poor bones can't take it!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Good thing I have extra fat around my bones!!!LOL
Winter just started, usually Feb,to March coldest windiest here, and usually the most snow during that period.
Wichita flower and Garden show begins the 5th of March to the 9th.
It has gone so commercial these last few years, almost disappointing to go!
The only have about half the flowers on display that they use to have!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I got the fat, too, but it sure isn't keeping me warm! Got my granny gown on, long socks, and covered with Sienna's blanket and still ice cold! LOL
I have never been to a garden show, so anything would probably be something for me at this point! LOL I was thinking of going to the Missouri Bot Gardens one day, but I would have to hide my tools and have something to sneak stuff home in! HA HA HA

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Wichita has about the 7th largest show in the US,or it use to have, not sure anymore,we get vendors from as far south as Texas, west from Colorado,Iowa, and some come from Florida even, probably a 1/4 million people will attend, and I believe $11 bucks to get in!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

That would be so cool to attend! But how do you get around to see everything? Sounds like it would be about like the BIG Gun show in Oklahoma, but maybe even bigger.

Any sore heads out there? being the only driver mean't ice water and coffee for me but I had a ball ...big BBQ! ...wonderful company
and got home at 11 before the drunk drivers took to the roads, that is not a good thing on the Mountain. The Harbour was amazing,
the crowd was happy and only 90 something arrests out of almost 1 and 1/2 million is pretty good.
Sadly most of the beaches are closed due to horrendous waves and rips tearing up the beaches ...a great shame because the weather is beautiful 81F and sunny.
I think something is happening under the Ocean maybe Earthquake.
The New Year is bright and shiny and new! ...so sorry that it is also very chilly in some parts (just the same it must be lovely in the greenhouse). So lots of lovely hot soups ...perhaps some Irish coffee, Brandy is medicinal after all :)
I hope you are all enjoying your new 2008

Just beautiful Chrissy! My fingers are trembling from going out to check on the heated green house! Good thing I did cause I had not turned the heat back up in there yet and it was down to 40º. It is 12º outside now, but 'feels like' -2º! The dampness on the bottom of my shoes froze instantly when I stepped back out on the deck it is sooooooooooooooo cold!

Stay warm mate! ...poor plants and poor people!
a warm hug chrissy ...pssst go get some hot cocoa and chuck some brandy in it!:)

Darn, wouldn't ya know I am out of brandy! LOL I did have some chicken bullion earlier that helped a wee bit, but not enough! Guess I could always have another fuzzy navel, but then again that is cold! LOL It does help seeing your beautiful pics, though! ♥

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)
