Nite Kim, sweet dreams!

Tman, you think my Crape Myrtles will be ok in this single digit temps?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

If not they will come back from roots!.Mine always have!
Don't always bloom that year tho!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well the tags show down to 0º, but the wind chill has been so cold and blistery! I would really miss the blooms cause they are amazing! We just got them in this past Spring, but roots should hopefully be well established by now. We built a box around each of them with landscaping timbers and put some ground cover and lots of mulch, so I will cross me fingers!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Sounds like you covered all the bases,no need to worry!
Unless it gets down in the sub zero's!!!LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Lordy I sure hope NOT! LOL

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Me Three!

The Crape myrtles are as tough as old boots ...and much more beautiful. You can make winter cuttings from those bare branches (before they freeze ...grow very easily from those cuttings)
about 8 inches long and pencil width.
mmmmm love cabbage ...yummm.
Macy that field is my next door neighbour plowing and getting ready for zucchini growing ... we live in a market gardening district which supplies about 80% of the fresh greens and zucchini/tomatoes/capsicums to NSW (our state).

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks Chrissy, I will have to remember that next year before our freeze hits!

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok Chrissy...thanks. Looks like it could grow a LOT of zuchinni!! I love fresh zukes, cukes, Peppers, tomatoes...etc. etc. etc...well...you get the idea!!! We really miss them in the wintertime! Storebought are NOT the same!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Store boughts have no flavor.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

You are sooo right Pepper! Especially the tomatoes! And usually they are mushy too! YUK!!

You poor things ...we are so lucky here lovely fresh food all year round ...I was making sweet chilli sauce from my chillis fresh off the vine in Winter and because our Winters are relatively mild there is always fesh produce of some kind or other ...we are spoilt rotten re the weather. I wish I could send you some :)
Mistygardener ...here are a little bit of my crapes

Oh my goodness! I can't wait for mine to grow up and be big like yours! :)

Depending on the type they can grow into huge trees or mini shrubs
Ours survived a couple of bad freezes but your freezes are prolonged and they may not grow as large ...but they are tough trees I am sure you will do ok :) I still am waiting for the white the red and the wine colours (late this year because of the rain I think)
here have a peach
