90 days till Spring!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

thanks my friend for what I call "my fake spring" I didn't even wear a jacket for the past 2 days!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

And Winter will feel so cold when it comes back!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Awesome, Kassia! You are most welcome! LOL

By the way, I think your BESV is rebounding from the freeze. I had covered him, but his middle leaves on the vine weren't looking very chipper when I took the towel off the trellis in his pot. Better today!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

67 days left!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

67 days ?? That's it. I may forego my late February madness. But my hands are folded, my head bowed. I genuflect to Mom Nature. No late spring freeze this year! Please

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well I hope it's not like last year where it really did not warm up until well into April!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

And don't forget the Easter snow storm we got slammed with!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's right.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Victor, I remember running out with a sheet to throw over my lilac in April. It didn't work too well though. Half the blooms froze anyway and the other half were at a 90 degree angle. That was a Hmmmm moment

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What a bummer.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

yes - that snow storm was the week of our spring break. hahaha.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

fake spring week is over... oh it looks so snowy outside... lol... few more days... has anyone checked the farmers almanac?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We got nothing! A dusting at best and it's melting. Two hour delay for the schools and my little guy's AM K canceled for nothing,

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia - I'm glad for the snow :)
It's insulation for the roses! Also, the puppies love to run and wrestle in it.
It's really for the best, although in march it will be really hard to tolerate it.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh Laura, it's so nice... sometimes I look and don't believe it it's going to grow again!!!!

Hey can I take the Clivia out? I feel so sorry for her being neglected... she needs some love!

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

thanks you guys, it is truly amazing : )
kass you can give your clivia a little water if it makes you feel better but I leave mine in the basement till I see the flowers coming up from between the clumps of leaves or march 1 which ever comes first

Oh, Laura, isn't it wonderful what magic occurs when we dip our hands into earth?

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Laura, what temp is your basement usually?

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

Sue, it really is . I hope I never loose that wonder . How do they know what to do? : )

sofonisba its about 50-55

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I thought so. My basement's heated and there's a bedroom in there, I can't turn it down. Wish I could. My garage is too cold. I haven't gotten my clivia to bloom yet!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That's really beautiful, Laura! It's almost a spiritual experience to see the before and after!!! Come on, Spring!!! If Candyce says it's 57 days, I'm all over that!!!

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

I was just looking at the pics on my computer and I found a pic of my sweet woodruff just starting up with new growth taken on 3/13. Ok granted, there was snow and ice in the same picture, but still....that suddenly doesn't seem so terribly far away- yay!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That IS encouraging!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Just amazing how such a bleak landscape in winter can become a beautiful garden like that. It IS very encouraging for sure and not too far away now. That little fur ball groundhog will make his appearance soon and fingers crossed for good news. :)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

If he see's his shadow....im gonna shoot the little varmit!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

How about we just shoot all the reporters with the bright, scary lights shining on him? No wonder he usually goes back inside!

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

I noticed today how fat the buds on my winter hazel are and at the grocery store there were pussy willows hyacinth's , primrose crocus and tete-a-tets ! I just love spring I love making easter planters with bulbs !

Oh no!!! Too cute! Reminds me when I was six, I wore a pink tutu every day. I was so sad when I outgrew it.

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

Laura that pic is just too cute. Easter is very early this year- Mar.23, I think. Wonder if that will make it seem like Spring is here early, too.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Last Easter I was hiding eggs outside in the snow! I have to admit....they were much easier to see!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh Bella.... so cute...

you guys will never believe this. Lilly is such a diva... This weekend I really gave her attention. She has been really awful - peeing everywhere... not even asking to go out... so I decided to really be glued to her and see what is the problem... well she did really well. no accidents... anyway, tuesday night I took her out to pee and she walked on the ice and was really ok... we walked back inside and she came down the stairs and all was ok.. suddenly she was crying and limping... so I picked her up and looked at her paw and it was ok... but she would not walk... so I carried her around and etc... but she slept the entire night and moved around... today she was ok in the morning when I took her out... well I went to work and my sister told me she walked around the house, played with Victor and all was fine...

But as soon as I came home, the moment she heard my voice she started crying and limping... my sister looked at her and my mom and we all started laughing... I told my mom this morning that I was really thinking she was acting up... but NOW I KNOW she is acting up.... she wants me as slave... oh what a princess she is... let's see tomorrow...

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia
It sounds like Lilly is missing you badly and has come up with a plan for your sympathy and attention.
My boys were bad this morning and took off on me - I was out calling for over a half and hour while they were sniffing away at bushes and chasing each other. I am still so mad!
They don't get it of course, they are just having fun....
Oh well. I hope Lily realizes that your hers.... maybe she wants to be carried everywhere? Has she been watching tv? has she seen pics of Paris Hilton's dogs in her pocketbook??
(only kidding)
Here is a pic of the boys after they've been banished from the kitchen. Its pretty hard to cook with 2 big dogs underfoot!

Laura - they still want to meet Bella! Do you walk at Heard Farm? I just got directions there the other day.

Such sweet pooches!
My dog gets underfoot, too, when I am trying to cook dinner. It's hard enough to cook with two toddlers underfoot! Now the dog wants in on the action! I think I'll really go over the edge when the cats decide that they want their piece of the dinner preparation hour!!
