I am still waiting for my bill. Here is a picture from texasbigleaf garden from one of my visits.
Tropical garden
Is that the green house? What do you do - cut them all back???
must bring tears to have to cut them back...
Oh,oh, oh,oh....what is that gorgeous plant with red orange leaves? Banana?
Where might I get one like it? It is breathtaking.
It does. Because when it's time to put them in ghouse they are at their tallest and most beautiful. Jerry
yuck... saddly they cannot be rooted can they? so sad... you need a bigger taller greenhouse...
LouC, I got mine from BRIAN WILLIAMS. It's a SIAM RUBY banana. If you want one better wait till sping and warmer weather. Jerry
Thanks, Jerry. You're right about Spring. 27 this morning and what had not already frozen, is now. Is Brian Williams a person or a nursery?
Do you all do any Brugs? I have been into Brugs here in Texas for the last few years - in ground.
LouC, Brian is a person and has a nursery in Kansas. He is on the AROID forum. Just GOOGLE BRIAN WILLIAMS. I've gotten a lot of plants from him. Jerry
Thank you very much.
MitchF, I have two variegated burgs. One in a pot the other in ground inside of greenhouse.I do'nt have any pics. of them on new camera. Have pics. with old film camera. Jerry
Jerry, I have several baby brugs from seed and cuttings in the makeshift greenhouse now. I would like to plant all of them in ground in the Spring. (if they make it). How does yours look this morning that is outside the Greenhouse?
LouC, Both are in grhouse and do'nt have any leaves on them, but starting to put on new ones. One has has white flowers the other has pinkish / orange flowers. Jerry
I had all of mine in ground here for the last two years, I know a man in OK that keeps several in gound - mine and his both with heavy mulch. They die to the ground. You might want to try a cutting and see if they make it - would be a little more greehouse room for something else!
Can't ready this morning. Just now drinking the coffee. Maybe by next year I will a small greenhouse.
Mitch, are you speaking of Ted? I have followed a lot of his posts.
http://www.briansbotanicals.net/index2.html
No not Ted - I am trying to get him to try there too... no this is a nut who lives not far from my inlaws, he did not know what he had just called them Morning Trumpets and says they have been there from the time him mother planted them when she can from Puerto Rico and they come back each year. I wish Ted would try...
Isn't that the way? We pamper and pet and here someone thinks they are wild flowers and they flourish. Maybe we should take a hint.
right? really like my China Doll Hibiscus - I had no idea it would not grow after winter and it comes abck each year for me... now watch it will not come back this year now that I know better!
Found this on another thread and thought ya'll might like to check it out. www.digital-librarian.com/gardening.html
