Tropical garden

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I used to fish all the time now the boat just sits there. My interest seems to have moved to plants. Tropical looking ones. I may sell the boat in spring, I didn't use it at all last year. Yes that is A. Sarian in the one pic. I put that in the ground last year and it came back small and only put out a couple leaves all year. I think I lost it already. Its has died back and I can't feel a bulb. I love the plant but so far growing it has been hit or miss.....

With your love of tropicals, guys, we need you in the Tropical Gardening forum. You won't believe what is being grown in Wichita, KA or Houston, Texas. I have been there for about a year now and can't believe the great friends and gorgeous plants.
All the while didn't know this was in my own backyard. Mitch,
cannot believe I knew about alocacia and plumeria before you did.
Mine are looking pretty sad right now as I don't have a GH. They are root hardy and come right back in the spring.

Dallas, TX

Truetropical77, Good looking Portei. Is the other one a Robusta or Borneo Giant? What brand is your new camera? Your lucky that your greenhouse is in the sun all day.mine doesnt because of a giant live oak tree next door. Jerry

Placenciarita, Check out Tropical gardening forum. Islandshari's [ An Aloha Hoya Tour ] Jerry

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I told you. Went to Houston in November and met Shari while she was here in the states. We went to Rjuddharrison's home for the day. Just wait till you look at his garden. No way the pictures come close to what he actually grows. Also take a look at A Red Letter Day In Houston Texas. In fact, you need to read every thread going back for several months. Will make your mouth water.

LouC

LouC, I wish i could been there! But i'am allways a day late and a dollar short!!!!!!!!!!! Jerry

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey, Jerry. As long as we are all together now. That is all that matters. I have a habit of cruising around just about everywhere.
Cannot tell you the treasures I have encountered. Such as yourself.

truetropical 77, very nice camera, even the plants in the background are very clear. I looked at all the pictures several times today, your coconut tree is growing very fast. In 5yrs. it will look like this, you might have to get it it's own greenhouse.

I hope mine looks like that in 5 yrs. I want a Coconut Feast!
