I think BigCityAl should be included in that "you'd better!"
Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - 27
Absolutely.
Cheers, Zuzu!
You're right! Sorry Al... !
Kattye...I think I have the yellowy-orange species of those. Couldn't remember the name.
Thanks - is that like a 'major award'?
Of course. We just don't know HOW major !
SOMEBODY with computer skills (that immediately eliminates me...) needs to come up with something creative....
hint hint hint...
Al - Major is too minor.
"Best in Show"???
Three cheers for the Victor - Al - Dave47 trio!
Al - isn't it enough to be voted as part of the "Most Popular" trio? :-)
Far better than one of the Three Stooges...but maybe that's splitting hairs.
Thanks Katye - I better be on my toes now that I know there are lurkers from all over the country watching! Thanks Mike, zuzu and Pirl. It's lots of fun for me.
Not Al's, though.
(sorry - couldn't resist)
Victor. We cross-posted. Nice to see so many of us on the computer today, and here's wandering down the DG paths. Or, wherever you might lead us, dear Victor.
Hero athletes?
My fave... Lou Gehrig. (... and no, I wasn't around when he played. I'm not THAT old! LOL!)
Happy Birthday, Victor! Happy New Year too!
:o)
Thank you Candyce - hopefully not too many blind alleys. Excuse me - I meant blind allees!
Thanks gabagoo! Love that screen name. Please tell us about it. I love Gehrig too. Saw his exhibit at Columbia many times.
It's Victor's Birthday? (LOL)
I thought it was still Harper's birthday.
I think she was waiting up for me!
Ahhhh
I should have known.
That's right!!
Happy Birthday Victor! Thanks for everything.
Katye, welcome from out of the shadows. What a nice compliment!
Jasper, thank you. The threesome is now a foursome. Welcome aboard!
Gehrig was great. How many ballplayers graduate from Columbia (Not to dismiss your stickball career Victor).
I find it so sadly ironic that he contracted a disease with the same name. ;^)
Thanks Dave. I think Gehrig may have been the last!
Dave - you almost had me there with that Gehrig comment!
Actually, it's very sad and unfair that people do call ALS Gehrig's disease.
LOL! A friend of mine used to greet me with "What's up, Gabagoo?"
No particular reason, it's just something she said.
I started using it as a screen name years ago.
It was about 3 years later that I learned it's an Italian cold cut - Capicola.
Victor - I believe the disease was so uncommon that it was the association with Gehrig that allowed people to associate what Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis was about.
Funny gabagoo. I am Italian and was thinking about capicola.
Somehow, not being Italian, I was thinking of a distortion of Mr. Magoo.
i was thinking of the flintstones, but i guess that's yabba dabba doo...
as far as awards for victor, al , and dave -
best in breed?
misters congeniality?
most likely to allude?
the triple entendres?
Triple Entendres! Yes!
Most likely to exceed??
Ack! how did i miss that one?!
Pirl gets most likely to weed!
And deadhead!
Better than being most likely to "breed" !
Pirl gets most likely to WORK!! She's the James Brown of gardening, as I've said before.
Does it have to be James Brown?
No more breeding, JD! My eggs have been scrambled for many years now - next my brains.
Maybe so, pirl...but what FINE eggs they were, indeed ! LOL
Yes, they both called today! Good eggs!
Count me in on the vote for our Triple Entendre with a good sized helping of JD on the side (Good one, Amy!) Thanks to you all for being such terrific, smart, funny, kind, patient DG friends! And that includes our special lurkers as well....just when we need some spice, you guys chime in! Amy, your sense of humor today tells me you may be feeling better????? Kudos!
Triple entendres? Is that like The Three Tenors?
I have a feeling Victor is more of an alto...maybe even a boy soprano !
How we differ on Victor's voice. I think more of Clark Gable.
