You guys make it hard to keep up! Somebody mentioned chili and it's having to have chunks of tomato. I find that hilarious...when I was about 12 ('72), my dad wrote up on a little piece of paper " I Terry ______, do hereby agree that I like Chili" and he taped it up in the cabinet. I then, next time mom made chili, added something onto that note. I wrote "without chunks of tomato!" My parents have moved from that house, but my dad brought that little piece of paper with him and it's now taped up in one of the cabinets at this house. It's dated and everything....LOL!

For those who can't eat Chili anymore, like myself, I've got a big pot of Vegetable Beef cooking......

And now I'm off to sand on my steps that I've redone in a color that I can actually see. I need to sand, wipe, and start on the floor poly........

good morning, Celia, dear. We are a warm and toasty 30 down here! LOL
it's quiet here, too. DH went back to bed--poor baby has a cold and the sniffles. BTW, I did find your cat in the photo above. She only thought she was hiding! Cats are such funny creatures--so independent and acting like they don't really care about us "common folk". LOL I love them.

LOL Terry! I made a big pot of veggie soup this past week too. I try to make alot of comfort type foods especially when it is raining or snowing as Mike (my SO) is out in the weather all day long. Tonight though is out dinner out. We try to go out once a week with the kids for dinner. Mike's grown son meets us also, so it is truly a family dinner.

I think I'm done with all my Christmas shopping. I haven't decorated anything yet though, and we have to buy a tree. I have always had live trees, and planned to do that again, but decided that the hassle isn't worth it. So we are gonna buy a tree tonight hopefully.

The kids dad just called and backed out of getting the kids again today. I'm gonna start keeping track of the times he doesn't get them. I know he tries, but it is so frustrating. I really look forward to the times he has the kids, as it gives me a much needed break. He came yesterday but decided not to take them due to the weather. Today he is using the weather as an excuse, even though the temp is 36.

So no wrapping presents for me today :(( I can't bake, as I haven't been to the store yet. Sigh....

Mommy got a bath this morning and she is feeling much better, and I think the puppies like her better, too! LOL These are gonna be the most rotten pups anyone has ever seen. :)

This is actually my second pot of soup I've made this week. It's yummy...lol....hubby and I just had a bowl before he went off to work. Mau, if my dad would do as I say, he'd be on his way to get you and Pau, but he doesn't do as I tell him..LOL! My mom has a really awful cold, so I sure feel for Pau.

Who me? A heat wave? LOL! We've got a balmy 22º outside, with the wind chill at 8º. We got about 4" of snow yesterday, the roads are all a mess.

Christmas is coming and I'm not anywhere near done. It seems every weekend, when I've wanted to go shopping, it snows, or it's freezing rain outside. Closest good mall is an hour away. Little mall about 20 minutes away, but it's not that great. No baking yet here either. Actually, my sister, mom and I always get together at moms house to do our baking. I think we're running out of time. ☻

The back steps are calling my name...time to do a second coat of floor poly. Question. If I was trying to get blue, the color would be gray. But since I wanted dark gray, the color I created is more blue. Why is that?

Terry, sorry that your mom has a cold, too. Pau slept most of the afternoon and he is back in bed again--says he feels too bad to sit up. I found some RX decongestant in one of the bathroom drawers that was prescribed when he had a cold last winter that he never took so I gave him one of those a little while ago. It should kick in soon if it hasn't expired (the RX--not Pau). (I can hear a lecture coming from Celia.) . . .and tell your Dad he is in the doghouse for not coming to get me so I could have some of that soup! LOL about those steps--you must be trying to go for the "bruised" look--black and blue. (Sorry about that--I couldn't help myself. It's what happens when one is cooped up inside for too long. LOL) While Pau was sleeping I have been watching old movies. No, I didn't fall in love with the brother of a guy who fell onto the tracks and was unconscious for days! (you know--as in "While You Were Sleeping").

Chili sounds good too, Tammy! I like mine with shredded cheese sprinkled on top. Let us know how those babies are doing.

Janis, let us know how dinner out with the family went and the shopping trip for the Christmas tree! I put up our lighted nativity family this afternoon. It is one of those sets that goes outside and the figures light up at night. Tomorrow I have to get some exterior extension cords that are not 50 feet long. We have the 50 ' long ones but I only need some that are about 10 feet long. I need three of them in order to be able to light up the three figures.

Guess I'll go watch another movie. In fact, I may just watch "While You Were Sleeping" for the umpteenth time. I love that movie!

I'll talk to you all tomorrow. Misty and Kwan--go to bed early tonight. When the two of you stay up late, you get into too much mischief and it takes forever to read through this thread!!! Remember--mind your "Mau"!
