We came from here...
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/796181/
Okay, it's 20º outside and my weather station says the Feels Like temp. is 8º. The sun came out a little but it's REALLY cold and cloudy. Not supposed to get more snow for a few more days.
Yes, it's too bad it takes a bad accident to get the attention of the authorities. But they only have so much money to make improvements, so they put it where they can prevent a new accident. And we have the road markers here. Crosses and flowers and such.
Someone made a big stink over those crosses, too. Seems they're not "NON_DEMOMINATIONAL" and they were thinking some people would be offended by them. Yes, I agree they could be. But, as far as I'm concerned, I don't care what they put there. I'm not a religious person but those crosses do not offend me. They are only bringing to the attention to people that someone lost a loved one there. It's much better than putting a neon sign that says, "Hey, some dork got drunk and killed a family of six here!"
Hopw are the puppies doing, Tammy?

Stop and visit, talk all you want pt 5
Afternoon all. I was about to say good morning, but looked at the clock...lol!
Where to start? First of all, congrats on the new puppies! I remember having to deliver one from one of my dogs a long time ago. The pup was already broken through the sac, and was breech. I called the vet to see what I should do, because she wasn't delivering it.. He said reach in there and pull it out. It might not live, but at least she should be ok. So I did. And do you know...that pup was the strongest of the bunch!! And momma was happy too. :))
Marilyn, sorry to hear about your son. I agree with Marilyn. ALL teens think they are invincible. When I was a teenager, (long time ago!)....I knew a boy that drove crazy in a car. He hit a bridge imbutment, and while it didn't kill him....it did leave him brain damaged. He was never right after that. I so hope you girls get through to those kids!
Snowing here, and more to come. Heading your way Janis! :))
Keep warm everyone!
well, its 33 here right now, but has been bouncing between 33 and 30 all morning/afternoon. Jeff is on his way to pick up the kiddo's, but he said he is gonna bring them home early if the roads start to get bad, as he doesn't want to have them on bad roads (which I'm glad for, I don't like the thought of them on the roads if its bad either). I'm gonna run to my sisters house really quick to pay her for the riding pants and jersey.
Jess (my friend that cleans my house and stuff) called yesterday, she took her 3 month old to the audiologist yesterday, and she failed her 4th or 5th hearing test. So, the baby (Zoe) is at least partially deaf, we go to an ENT next week, then probably to Pittsburgh to find out how much if any hearing she has :(( The good news that we finally got the appointment for her to see the specialists at Easter Seals about the torticullis, and we'll know for sure if that is what it is, and get her the physical therapy she needs for it. Or get help for whatever it is that is wrong with those muscles.
Got my hair cut yesterday (finally) so now if I get the color done I'll be set :) I am really considering going and having acrylic nails done, I have had them in the past and love/hate them. I can grow beautiful nails on my own, but they break so easily, no matter what I do. And I have a couple that curve under, and look really funky. I dunno know. I hate the upkeep with acrylics, but I love the way they look. Gonna have to think about it I guess.
Misty how is MIL today, and the puppies??
Hi all, too tired to try to read through all the posts, but wanted to at least say hi!
MIL is MUCH better actually, isn't it amazing?!!!
The puppies are good other than the girl is still having a hard time with sucking. Mommy isn't a very good Mommy right now either! She ran off and I was searching for her at 3AM this morning! The girl is now named Teensy! :)
If she keeps up ignoring them, you may have to get puppy formula and hand feed.
I got acrylic nails once and they lasted all of one day! I pulled them off, they bugged me so much. lol
Have to leave again cuz we're gonna clean house for the house appraisors coming Monday. Yea!
are you selling your house, kwan? Haven't noticed if you said anything earlier about selling it.
Misty, glad MIL is doing better. On another subject, if your dog is a first-time mother it probably isn't all that unusual for her not to be such a good mother --although mothering should come naturally to them, sometimes it doesn't--just like humans!
Janis have you tried taking Knox Nutra-Joint? It is good for one's joints but it is also excellent for growing strong nails. I have to keep my nails cut back frequently because they grow so fast nowadays and they are very strong, too. Try it, you'll like it! LOL
Sure hope your friend, Jess, finds out what is wrong with her baby. It's heartbreaking to have a sick or disabled child and not be able to find some way to help them.
Hi, Marcy--glad you stopped by today to visit a bit!
No, not selling. Just getting some money for improvements.
Everybody must be very busy today, including me.
Yep--it's that time of year. Even though I haven't been birthing puppies like Tammy, I have been busy today. We are going to my former DIL's extended family's Christmas party tonight. (glad she invited us) I'm bringing dessert so I was baking a cake earlier and I have been getting gifts wrapped, etc. I think Marcy is baking cookies even though her grandkids couldn't join her because of bad weather. So everybody is busy with shopping and wrapping, etc. Hope you all have a good evening and that the snow storms don't do any damage. Stay safe everyone! Talk to y'all tomorrow.
Mau (Marilyn) told me about this thread and come on over and chat. I've been following and haven't really had time to make a comment....I have a quick minute now, Woofens, please tell your house-cleaner to inquire about a test called brainstem auditory evoked response (BAER) for her daughter. Our daughter was born with a host of "problems" and when the specialists wouldn't believe me that something was also wrong with her hearing at 6 months of age, I took it upon myself and called an audiologist. Bernie did the BAER test on our daughter. He gave her something that put her to sleep and placed electrodes on her head and on each earlobe. An earphone is put on one ear at a time and it gives off a brief click or a tone and the electrodes pick up the brain's responses to these sounds and records them. It's totally pain free for the baby. Our daughter ended up having a 50% loss in each ear. It was a little more than 24 yrs ago, but this should help your friend to get the correct tests she needs for her daughter.
terry, thanks :) and welcome to the craziness )) The doctors have already mentioned something that sounds like what you are talking about. They said it would measure her brains response to the sounds.... so probably/possibly the same test? i appreciate it though :) right now, everything helps. Jess is only 22 and a single mom of 2 so she is really freaked out.
Well, Jeff decided it was safer not to take the kids, but not 30 minutes after he left the snow stopped LOL So I've been with the kids all day, and I have my 11 yr old niece here also. She is about 16 mentally LOL She is so grown up compared to Tori, and they are only 6 months apart. It really makes me realize how behind Tori is, but its ok, I don't let it get to me. Tori is just Tori, and perfect the way she is :))
Marsue, haven't tried the Nutra-Joint. I'll look for it. I've used Ostio-Biflex for my knees and hips, but anything that helps my nails and my joints sounds good :)
Misty, so glad to hear about your MIL. And I still want a puppy LOL Hopefully she becomes a better mommy. I've heard often that dogs and cats don't do well with their first litter.
My bosses' daughter is hearing impaired. She has 45% loss in one ear and 75% loss in the other. Ellie got hearing aids in both ears this year. She's been put into a school for hearing/sight impaired. The class she's in is all speech. She's 8 and until she started this class, she was a year or two behind the other students. She started her new class on October 31 and already has improved immensely. Advances in teaching are way beyond what they were even 5 years ago.
Welcome, Terry! If you can stand the nuttiness that goes on here, you're MORE than welcome to join us! LOL
I'm hoping you all can see this but we put our tree up today. We have bad lighting in that room. 10 minutes after we plugged the lights in, DH said someone had found the tree. This is our black cat, in the dark, under the tree. You can just see her outline at the very bottom of the picture. She looking left.

LOL Kwan! I see her! Our cat 'found' our tree the first night it was up. In the middle of the night we heard her batting around an ornament. Sure enough, the next day there was one off the tree! We told her that was a no no....and she hasn't bothered it since. But it seems, every year she just has to do it once!!
It never fails with this one. She sleeps under that tree all season! LOL It's so funny to try and time her.
Hi all, he will have to install the old program because the one we have now the copyright is covering the whole pic! We ended up having to put them in her crate so she will stay with them. Baby girl is eating much better now. But, she is one that loves cuddling, so when she whines I just get her and love on her! :)
Good. She'll get used to it. I can't wait. I love seeing brand-new babies! LOL
MIL better?
I will get them as soon as he gets it installed, which will be tomorrow at the earliest. He is on his way to visit his Mom before he goes to work, so no updates as of yet. I will let ya know when I do! :)
Okay.
I will do it ASAP! :)
You're so cute.
LOL
Right now I am quite upset at the viciousness of others, though!
Who?
OH...MY...GOD!!! What the hell? Excuse my lauguage but I just read your d-mail, Tammy and what BAS****!!!
They could easily have done this somewhere else instead of your thread. I'm sorry for you.
On a happier note...puppies are well? Momma is well?
Tammy, some people just love to rain on other people parades. I read what you guys were talking about, (I had a feeling I knew where it was, and I was right) and you know what? Some people just suck!!!!! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this :(( Obviously, someone has too much time on their hands and they need to just GO AWAY. Hugs! I know that you are gonna be a great puppy mom, and all your friends here are pullin for you :)) Ignore the ignorant ;-P
AGREE!!!
Isn't that just the most amazing thing you have ever seen?! I did send a private Dmail on the matter and was responded to, and I responded back with my last post as Enough Said. I did, however, recommend if they feel this strongly about it then maybe they should start their own thread and get others opinion on the matter. I felt it was very demeaning and defamatory to my character from someone who has no clue of who I am!
YES, the babies are doing well, and so is Mommy! Since putting them in the cage they are able to eat more and stay closer to Mommy. Teensy still loves to be cuddled and loved on, though! :)
LOL Woofens! I totally agree, which is why I decided on the private Dmail!
Teensy's going to be your baby. No matter who Tuxedo attaches to she's all yours!
You know, just let it go. Obviously they wanted to upset you, and succeeded, and now I'm sure they are off gloating about it. You don't need a bad memory of your first puppies!
I'm so glad that they are all doing well (as I wait anxiously for pictures) LOL
How was your day other than that??
Patiently tapping our fingers...
Has anyone figured out where the name Teensy came from yet? I know most of you don't participate in the Secret Santa Round Robin that I am in, but pupilpropogtr's daughter is nick named Teensy, and it came to me at 3am this morning that is what I wanted to name her! :)
Oh, C, you go girl! :)
(((Smiling smugly)))
NOW you've done it! I'm hungry again! LOL
Gonna go find something in the fridge. Back in awhile...
I got chili ... ... ...
LOL
Oh ya, my day other than that; I am TIRED! About 2 hours total sleep I believe. I laid down this afternoon, but pretty much just laid there and slept a little. I woke up hungry, darn it! So, I got up and ate a banana and Baskin and Robins Rocky Road pudding! MMMMMMMMM
LOL Me, too! I made a HUGE pot today!
I did too Tammy!! I made it even though the kids don't much care for it cause I knew Mike was gonna be miserable tonight after the snow and rain today:(( He hardly ever gets sick, but he keeps dry clothes at the station for days like this. He came home and ate 2 great big bowls!
I donno what I did wrong with this batch, but it wasn't near as good as I usually make.
I cheat and use the Carroll Shelby mix. I doctor it up some though, can't eat it like they say to make it. Gotta have tomato chunks on my chili LOL
*rolling my eyes* If I own an animal, and can support the pups, kittens, and I want to have pups, kittens, whichever, I'm gonna do it. When I do get animal, it is usually from the pound, but dang it, if I want a puppy or a kitten from my animal, I'm gonna have one. And to boot, my animals have always been inside animals, so phooey to whoever don't like it :)
