Stop and visit, talk all you want Pt 4
And here I thought I was a leader and not a follower, but here I am! HA HA HA :)
Hospitals set age limits and usually stick to them. There are many reasons why children are not allowed, the least of which is the noise factor. Children are more likely to cause stress in the patient, children are stressed more easily than an adult and might be confused by a hospital environment, and then there's the infection factor. Hospitals are very germy places. Different hospitals set different age limits. When one hosptial allows 12-year-olds, another may only allow 16-year-olds.
Anyway, glad she got to see grandma, regardless of her age. (A)MIL doing well?
I was amazed at how well she looked and sounded today! She is for the pacemaker if they so decide, but she still talks like she may not make it much longer....She hopes she will at least have til Christmas, but she is a strong woman, so she might just outlive us all! :)
I understand why they have their rules, but when you donno if a person is gonna live or die, then it is nice that they will break the rules sometimes. :)
I know some sho do. You said you snuck her in with one of the nurses? Tee hee on them!
I was sitting with her and the CNA came in and I asked her who I would have to sweet talk to get her in, and in walked the head nurse. :) So, I asked her how much I would have to do and that Sienna was in the waiting room being very patient. She said she is in the waiting room right now, and I said yep, being a very good girl, but REALLY wanting to see her Grandma. So, she went and opened the door and I ran and got them and said HURRY HURRY! LOL All was good til the Charge Nurse seen her! :) But he didn't get mad. Guess he really couldn't when the other nurses was trying to convince him she was 16! HA HA HA
Good for you! LOL
YOU sound better too.
Yes, I am, thanks! I feel like I can laugh and smile a bit now without feeling bad about it. Shaun is even doing it some! :) He said she looked 25 times better today than yesterday, so that is great! :)
Sorry, my puter seems to be having a mind of its own tonight! ARGGGG
Now how cute is that pic! Tell them I said great job!
Thanks Kwan, feeling much better about things for now.
HUGS
Nite Nite everyone :)
Good morning, all. It is hard to keep up with you guys! Those elves and Scrooges are something else! LOL
So glad Misty, that MIL is doing better and that your young'un got in to see her. Keep us posted on her progress.
It is VERY foggy here this morning--I can just barely see the outline of the houses across the street from me. At least we aren't dealing with snow and ice like some of you. It is supposed to get up to 66 today with sowers off and on this morning--not raining now, though. However, it is "fogging"! LOL
Here's a tree in our neighbor's back yard--through the fog.
Morning all :) You guys have been busy! Tammy, I am soooo glad that your MIL is doing better. And that Sienna got in to see her. We had to sneak DeWayne in to see Dean once when he was sick (Dean is the ex) at the VA hospital. There were alot of nurses that just looked the other way.
I'm off to an indoor flea market to find (hopefully) a motorcycle light for Mike that looks like this one, well, never mind I can't find the pic now LOL
Its 33 degrees here right now, and supposed to rain all day :(
Will try to catch up later
Hugs
Janis
Morning!
It 29 degrees and looking like MORE snow. They say not too much, though it will last for a few days. DD lives north of us and she has 18 in. of the white stuff. She's higher in the mts than we are.
Everyone doing well?
Marsue, I love the fog pic.
Hi all! Shaun said we had TONS of black fog last night and he could barely see in front of him. It is rainy and nasty here, and Shaun just came back from the store and said the roads are kinda nasty. Hope everyone is having a great day! :)
I gladly take the blame! HA HA HA If I learn how to collect seeds, I will have TONS and TONS and TONS of pansy seeds next year! There are 39 planters sitting in the yard, several small pots I already had, and 2 other pots from another shopping spree! They are 'no name' pansies, but if someone wants some, tell me how to get the seeds. :)
BTW, did you get your envy ready Kwan? :)
It's ready except I haven't got the postage yet. I know. I'm lame! LOL I just need to get to the store and get some stamps. We have to go get dinner makings so I'll get it then.
Geez... LOL I see how you guys are :)
I couldn't find what I was looking for for Mike, nothing even close :( I got my Mom a set of cow note cards and envelopes in a nice stationery box for $5.00 though. And went and got some groceries. Not going out to diner tonight, I'm wiped out and I still got to get all the kiddo's showered for school tomorrow. Mike is bringing home pizza for them, and and I'm making unstuffed pepper soup for him and me. Not sure I'm gonna be able to eat it, as my mouth is still a mess (4 of the canker sores now, my nerves are SHOT) but I have to eat something. It hurts so bad to eat anything, though. Been taking B complete complex with vitamin C, so hopefully they will clear up soon. I can remember my Mom putting campho-phenique (sp??) on canker sores when I was a kid, but I couldn't find any that didn't say for external use only.
How is everyone tonight? Misty, nice to "see" you in a better mood :)
Hugs,
Janis
We're good here, Janis. Things are well with the kids? And the snow?
Snow is almost all melted cause of the rain, and the kids are being kids LOL getting them ready for showers now, and of course, Jeff doesn't want one. He'd never take one if I didn't make him LOL
Hi Janis, much better, thanks! :)
Sorry to hear bout your mouth! :( I am thinking of eating some more of my chicken noodle soup. :)
I have one of those that I used to always have to remind him to take one!
We have a lady at work that's like that. LOL
OH NO! That is even worse! I can't stand being around someone that smells. :( My son goes from one extreme to the other, either BO or TOO much cologne! I hate either one. :(
Eugh Kwan! Thats so nasty. My oldest is the same way Misty, either he doesn't shower and is nasty stinky or he does then douses himself in cologne and it smells almost as bad :((
I have some pics to show you girls. Let me scan then and I'll be back in a minute...
Well, I went and bought him Old Spice Body Wash, and he seems to do better with showers. :)
The one day I am feeling better and we have no water pressure! Trying to do laundry and running cleaner through my dishwasher. ARGGGGGGGGGGGG My son just said our neighbors yard is flooded, so guess we have a water main break somewhere. :(
Mine one time actually went to the trouble of wetting his wash cloth, hanging his towel on the dirty rack, and a bunch of other stuff so we'd "think" he showered. DUHHHHH You still stink! Get in the shower!! LOL Kids are so much fun
OMG! Too funny! :)
Just called them back to let them know where the water break is and they just said they had already been informed, now the idiot is driving back and forth looking. Shoulda listened to what I was telling em! Guess this is what you call Over time and a half!
Water break!?!?
LOL Misty, gotta milk that over time for all its worth ya know??
Oh it wouldn't be good for me to live close to a nursery! Dat be bad fer sho fer sho! LOL
Funny about the kids--my daughter, when she was about 8 came out of her room dressed for school with obviously dirty socks on. I told her to go put on some clean socks--there were plenty in the drawer--so what did she do? Went into her room, took off the socks, turned them wrong-side out and put them back on!! I went bonkers. When I was finished throwing my fit, she said, "Mama, you frightened me!!" I said, "I don't care! You get back in there and put on some clean socks!" I probably over-reacted--okay, I did over-react. LOL I don't know what it is about kids--they would rather take longer doing something wrong than doing it the right way and saving you and them the stress of it all.
Hope the canker sores are better soon, Janis. Campho-phenique is definitely for external use only. Try gargleing (sp?) with some straight hydrogen peroxide. A little won't hurt you even if you swallow some. Or you could put some on a q-tip and dab the sores with it, if you don't want to gargle with it.
DH and I planted 103 bulbs this afternoon, most of which we, too, got at Lowe's for 75% off. Still have about 80 to plant but that will have to wait for another day. I have to report to the federal court house in Little Rock at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning for jury duty. If they select me for the jury, then I will be away from y'all for a while.
If I have to serve, I will certainly miss y'all while I'm away. I'll try to check in tomorrow night and let you know what happens.
Hope MIL is much better, Misty.
Kwan, I can't imagine what 18 inches of snow is like! LOL
Everyone have a good evening!
Thanks! And I know what you mean about Kids doing things the hard way instead! Irritating as all get out!!! I don't do my boys laundry anymore, so when my middle child says mom, I have no clothes, I say oh well, that is your problem! I do the white clothes, but I don't fold them up or anything for them, I make them dig em out themselves, and he HATES it, so he wears dirty socks, too! YUUUUUUUUUUK The other day he said mom, I need socks, told him they had been done a couple of days already! He does NOT pay attention to anyone. Gotta love em though! LOL
Yeah, tell me about it, Misty! I spent more money at that nursery. LOL
Kids can be disgisting sometimes! LOL
Okay. In 1999, we had tornado sweep through town. I was working right in the path of it. Forunately, I was in a building that could withstand the winds. My mother was working in the building across the street, giving tours on the 26th floor rooftop. She would show people the local sights and history of the area. Phone systems went down and I had to stay at work, shepherding people out of the store and into the safe zones. It took my mother 1 and 1/2 hours to cross the street. She walked in the room and I started crying. My boss said, "Okay, NOW you can go." She and my mom were old friends and she knew I was worried.
It took us another 3 and 3/4 hours to reach mom's car that was 3 blocks away.
This pic is from the roof of the building where mom worked and you can see the path of the tornada.
I'll try that Marilyn. Hope ya don't have to serve!!!
Awesome pic, Kwan, and I loved yours from this morning too Marilyn
Janis
