T, our hearts are with all of you. Was wondering about her all morning. She's made peace with her god and she'll be fine.
Stop and visit, talk all you want #3
Hi all,
When I woke up this morning my tomatoes had a peculiar white dusting on all of them. Anyone seen this before.
When I touch the dust it turns into water? Weird.
~Rick
LOL Rick welcome to the insanity.. or did you just post on the wrong thread? Either way glad to have you. BTW, that dusting here has turned into about 9 inches of that white stuff piled on top of itself. Its cold and wet and nasty. Although, in Alaska, I would have thought you'd have lots of it??
Janis
I must say that although I enjoy being able to visit the snow 2 hours away I am glad it is not something I have to deal with.
Hey, Rick? You're in the same zone as me! Huh. Go figure.
Weather's been weird all over the country. I have a neighbor who just picked the last of his.
woofens, Kwanjin,
It looks just like that! How did you know?
Did I do something wrong? How can I make it go away? Will it hurt my tomatoes at all?
Well I am off to go pick up my grandson from daycare. He wants to spend time with Grandpa today.
Don't let that white stuff get on your tomatoes.......................................
~Rick
Sigh, what I wouldn't give for a vine ripened farm fresh tomato.
Vine ripened and fresh frozen all in one place...................
Have fun with the grandson! We want to hear all about it when you get back.
I'm pretty sure it will kill your tomatoes Rick as it has that effect on everything here. Except the kiddo's who seem to love the nasty stuff LOL I wish I knew how to make it go away.. maybe we should post it on the garden foes or invasive forums? LOL
Have fun with your DGS
LOL @ vine ripened and fresh frozen!!!
I sure needed a laugh about now, thanks Rick!
Hi everybody! Snow snow and more snow!! Janis, we have the level 1,2 and 3 snow emergencies here too. None out now though. Looks like the snow has melted off the roads here. We are at 34*...so think I will venture out to get groceries and errands done.
Just wanted to say hi to all...and big huggggs to Janis and Misty. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
To everyone else, I hope you have a wonderful day and keep warm or cool....whichever you need!
We were supposed to go to Athens, Ohio tomorrow, but I kinda doubt if we will...since the weather reports seem so unstable for the weekend. It was supposed to be a surprise for my brother's 60th birthday. Well...guess we will play it by ear, and see how it goes.
Take care all.
Our power keeps going out!
Bye, Marcie!
How are YOU, Misty?
Hi all, still waiting to hear if Sis is gonna be allowed to G'ma. They are wanting to give her a pacemaker as she is still considered in Cardiac Arrest, but I had to ask Shaun if this is what SHE wants.... If she is ready to go, then I don't see her wanting to have another surgery, and who knows if she would even make it through that!
Kwan, cold wise I am better, but my heart is very heavy with everything we have had to go through this last couple weeks.
Thanks to all for thoughts and prayers!
Tammy
Well, leave it with us. We'll help you carry it.
You already are! :)
My goodness, but you all have been busy since I've been gone! It sure makes it hard to catch up--LOL
Janis, those are darling, precious kids you have there! They looked like they were having a great time in the snow. I certainly hope that everything works out for you with the child support thing, etc. That would be scary knowing that your ex has violent tendencies. You and your kids have certainly had some traumatic experiences!
Misty, it's probably little comfort but at least you know that your MIL is ready and that she doesn't fear death.
Welcome, Rick. sorry about those frozen tomatoes! I don't know what that white stuff is either 'cause I haven't seen any of it in quite a while. I guess the experts from the more frozen areas of the U.S. will have to answer your question--LOL
Hi, Marcy, glad you could join us today. Hope you are able to make it for your brother's birthday celebration tomorrow.
No snow here, but it was raining a little earlier and was 45 F when I went to Wal-Mart. doesn't look like we'll see the sun today. :o((
Okay. A tear just showed up out of nowhere! LOL
I know what ya mean! :)
Welcome back, Marilyn! How was the trip?
We cross posted, Misty. I'm with you about the pacemaker for your MIL. Does SHE want it is the questions the doctors need to ask. If there is a chance for her to continue and to live a quality life, that is one thing. If not, well then. . .
I have a pacemaker and so does my DH. They are wonderful when they can improve the quality of life, but it wasn't a life or death situation with either of us as it apparently seems to be with your MIL. At any rate, please know that we are all thinking of you and your family and praying for you.
Hugs all around to each of you!
Thanks kwan, I'm assuming you meant the trip to Wal-Mart? It was exciting, as usual. In Cabot, just getting there is an adventure. The city fathers have done a lousy job of planning for Cabot's growth the last 30 years when it comes to traffic flow and new streets, etc. Wal-Mart is on the other side of the freeway from our house so we have to go through regular traffic plus all the folks who are going either south or north on the freeway. And then the bridge over the freeway does not have enough traffic lanes so everything gets backed up and people drive crazy and get mad, etc., etc. But it is little enough to put up with considering all the heavy stuff going on in Janis' and Misty's lives right now. Sort of puts things in perspective for the rest of us, huh?
It does. Agree about the nuts out here.
I think I better get the computer shut down. We just another power surge. I have a protector on it but it's not good to have to power shutting it down for me! LOL
My best to all of you. I'm starting to have BIG love for all of you!
See you tonight or tomorrow!
Celia
Hugs to all who are sick or have sick loved ones on this Pearl Harbor Day. I pray for the healing and comforting of all of you.
Lucky for us northern KY folks, no additional snow fell here! Whew! Now I gotta go out and clear off my emergency parking space at the bottom of the steep hill we live on, in case I have to park and hike. Gotta carry hiking boots in the car this time of year, and make sure the flashlight batteries are good. grrr...
Just got back from taking my next door neighbor to town, didn't really want to go, but I did. Getting out of the driveway was an adventure, but the roads are clear. The salt trucks are already out for tonight though, its supposed to rain and freeze. Yuck :(
Well, 2 of the things that were on my nerves so bad yesterday got taken care of today. One was a package of stuff I ordered that contained the wrong item. I called and got the missing item shipped. And I get to keep the item that was put in by mistake. The other thing was my cell phone, no matter where I went yesterday it said "No Service" but its working today.
Tammy, I hope that things are going as well as can be expected. Did you get to take your little one in to see grandma?
And.. I meant to say thanks to all of you for your thoughts and well wishes on the child support thing.. we'll get through this, its just another hurdle. Its not easy, but easier knowing that I can come whine here :)
Well, I got the new Nora Roberts book yesterday so I"m gonna go curl up on the couch and read while its peaceful here, the kids are at the neighbors!!
Hugs
Janis
It does help to savor the simple pleasures in the midst of turmoil. Enjoy that book!
hi, i've been wanting to jump in for awhile....hugs and warmth to all who need it on this cold friday night....i'm trying to get some soup and hot bread ready for my young ones and have been reading everyone's posts...wishing all the best
lynda
Hey, Janis, I just showed my DH (Buddy) your kids' pictures and read him your post about Tori's surgery and your saga with the child support people. He thinks your kids are really cute (me, too) and he said to tell you that you and your kids are in our prayers.
You, too, Misty.
Like Kwan(Celia), I am really starting to have BIG love for all of you.
It's been a cold, rainy day here. The temp hasn't gotten above 45 all day but at least we don't have 9 inches of snow like some of you! If we even get 2-3 inches, the schools are closed and everything shuts down! LOL
Once long, long ago in a universe far, far away (LOL) when I was 7 mos. pregnant with my first child, my then-DH was out of town on business and I was home alone. I awoke that January morning to find 12 inches of snow on the ground in Little Rock, Arkansas! It had not been forecast at all and was a complete surprise. Of course that was back in the "olden days" before the TV weathermen used all these fancy forecasting methods they have today so we couldn't really blame them. But it sure was a big surprise to wake up to that much snow down here in the south. When the streets cleared off somewhat later in the afternoon, my daddy came and got me and I waited out the rest of the bad weather at my parents' house till my then DH was able to get home. LOL
Welcome, Lynda! We cross-posted. Jump in anytime with any subject you care to discuss--well, almost any subject, that is. LOL We are a chatty group!
Soup and hot bread sounds good on a cold Friday night!
the thing i remember most about being pregnant with my last & youngest (factory is closed!) is that i didn't have a real concept of my required body space and i seared my stomach trying to get dinner out of the oven....the burn looked worse than it was & i've never seen so many people try not to laugh at something so ridiculous :-)
thank you :-)
LOL--I can relate to that! I seared my stomach once while I was ironing--again back in the olden days when people actually used their irons and ironing boards. Yep, I just ran the edge of that iron right across my belly! LOL
when i had to make the rounds with each dr in the ob practice one actually asked if that was the scar from my ceasarian....he wasn't my prime dr;-)
LOL @ you guys! I know it wasn't funny then but LOL now :) I was so tiny with all my kids, I never had a problem like that. I gained enough weight with all of them, but i was so thin to start with, I looked maybe 6 months along at 9 months.
Lynda, welcome! I'm glad you dropped by and posted :)
Marilyn, thanks to you and Buddy. It means alot to me to know that you are thinking about us, and the prayers are welcome :) How is Buddy feeling today?
The soup and hot bread sound really good. I should have picked stuff up for veggie soup when I was in town today, but I"m going to town in the morning too, I'll get it then, and we'll have it Monday. I want to make chili for Mike tonight, but think I'm out of the tomatoes that I need, and if I made it I'd want to eat it and I've got an ulcer like sore of the inside of my upper lip :(( I used to get them all the time as a kid, and believe they are stress related. Mike is gonna pick my up some all B with C vitamins on his way home from work, they should clear it up and hopefully prevent any more from forming.
My Sarah (the blond) has decided she is gonna learn how to fly. She just asked me to buy her feathers LOL She is jumping all around, generally making me crazy. Its pretty funny though :) Now she asked if grandma could make her a bird suit so she can fly. LOL Kids are so funny
Tammy, any news on MIL or whether your little one can go in??
ROTFLOL, Janis, about Sarah flying! She just made my day--LOL! You need to find some of those old, old movies that show people who tried to fly by attaching man-made giant bird wings they had to flap really fast. some of those guys actually jumped off cliffs with those wings on their body. !!!!!Did you ever see any of those on TV? I think Sarah would change her mind about flying if she saw some of those movies!
Glad Mike is picking up those vitamins for you--they should help with the cold sores.
Thanks for asking about Buddy, Janis. He is feeling better than he was the other day. He finally broke down and took a pain pill about 1 a.m. after he couldn't sleep. I had tried to get him to take one before he went to bed, but NOOOOO, he was going to tough it out. Men! The doc only prescribed 20 pills for him so Buddy wants to make them last until his next appointment in a month.
Well, I gotta go make something for supper. Wish I had some home-made soup and hot bread, Lynda. See what you started? LOL
I'll try to check in later tonight.
