Victor Should Write a Book

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You are first cat!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Thank you.

(Zone 4a)

It was a very good well written article! I enjoyed it!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Spelling counts, huh? Well, that counts me out . . . .

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Imagine this generation! They're so dependent on spell-checks, calculators and computers.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Hey, Victor, guess what I found in amongst our hundreds of books???? An old paperback called "Simplifiying the Slideruler" - gee, I had one when I was in grade 9 - sure wish I had it now - I could probably figure out how to use it!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow. Never had one. The older engineers at work still used them just a few years ago!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I used to own that book! Well, actually, my mom bought it for me when I was in high school, so many eons ago. I do think, however, that I have forgotten how to use a slide rule by now.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It always looked like fun to me.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Once I had the darned thing 'mastered' in high school, I felt so important showing off my skills to the amazement of the lower classmen.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Sliderulers were scary things. My sister was a whiz with one........didn't help the sibling rivalry any.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I'll bet!

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

So let us write the epilog
For slipsticks, now a fossil.
Not digital but analog
With cursors made to jostle.
Just dug out mine today and now
I'm feeling like a fool.
Forgotten half the scales somehow
On my log-log sliding rule.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very nice, Don!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

a log-log slide rule - does that calculate in cords?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'd like a Lincoln log-log slide rule.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Impressive, Don.......again!! How about publishing a collection for us!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

If Victor isn't writing a book, maybe he could read one ;^)

I didn't invent Victor but I put him in Sing-sing.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nah - I think I made the jail thing up in response to a post where someone commented that they had never seen me.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Great wit, Don.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Whoever put Victor in Sing-Sing, the rest of us need to make sure he stays there.

LOL - Good one.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I don't think he (Victor) exists! I think he is a figment of his imagination! Eleanor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've been trying to tell you all that! That's why no pics, no RU's, etc. It's a mass hypnosis thing started when the media co. bought Dave's.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Victor, are you "Bubble Boy" in real life????? I think I like your prison schtick best of all. I'm sure that isn't spelled correctly, but you get my drift! LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee. Yes, I like the prisoner one myself. Remember that show - The Prisoner? Great one.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

No

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Me neither. Guess your mass hypnosis isn't working anymore, Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That only works in the present - can't create past experiences - yet.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The Prisoner

I don't think that I had a television during those years - I didn't - I was in college!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I don't think I ever saw the TV program, either.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Victor, I was the copper that got you put away. As I remember, you perjured yourself about knowing Martha Stewart

Greensboro, AL

I think Victor should write a book too. Let me know when you find a publisher!

You can use this thread as a forward to the book.

Another Fan,

gloria

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

And Don can write some poetry for publication. Whadya think?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you Gloria! Cat and Candyce - I didn't see the show until years later on re-runs. Not sure I would even like it now. I'm not really into sci-fi. Weird when you see something as an adult that you loved as a kid and think, 'WHAT was I thinking?!!'

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh yeah.
Remember 'Lost in Space' anyone?
I love it when I was younger. Now, it just looks really odd!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I still like Green Acres!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

and ham!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

'Darlin', I love you, but give me Park Avenue!'
My favorite line!
