Stop and visit, talk all you want. Pt. 2

(Zone 7a)

Have fun, Marsue!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Thanks, kwan. I'm sure we will.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I hope you had a good time Marsue! Tori a couple years ago was involved in a program through Easter Seals called "Ride with Pride" that was a horse back riding program, it was to help the kids with balance and other stuff that developmentally delayed kids deal with. She loved it! We only got to do it for 1 season, I think she had 6 sessions, but she still talks about it. I would love to get her horse back riding lessons, I think we'll check into it this spring. We do have a couple stables here locally.

My next door neighbor is keeping my kids this evening, so Mike and I can go to Lowes without hte kids and maybe actually get some shopping done LOL I'm fighting off a migraine tho, so it might be a wasted effort. I took a Max-Alt a bit ago, I can't take another one or I won't be able to drive to meet him. I'll hopefully be able to fight it off long enough to go get everything done, then if it hits once I get home I'll be better equipped to deal with it. My fear right now is that it will hit while we're out and I won't be able to drive home :( I have a Max-Alt in the glove box just in case.

Speaking of gloves, I can't find mine Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh... its cold out there!! LOL

Hope everyone had a good day... Kwan did you get anything accomplished?

Hugs
Janis

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, me again, LOL guess we aren't meant to go to Lowe's tonight. Mike just called and said its freezing rain in Bridgeport (where he works) and that west of us its already icy. So he is closing the station at 7 instead of 8 and heading home. So now I can take another Max-Alt and not worry about having to drive. We're gonna try to go tomorrow (but we might have to take the kids).

So maybe I'll be back on later, maybe I'll jsut go to bed

Hugs,
Janis

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Sure hope that migraine didn't materialize, Janis! Sorry the weather didn't cooperate so you and Mike could get your shopping done. Better luck tomorrow!
It's past my bedtime so I'm outta here. Good night all!

P.S. forgot to say that we did have a good-time this afternoon. The kids got to groom two different horses. You would have thought we had been to Disneyland! LOL
My DGD loves horses and wanted to take lessons so I gave her 3 one hour lessons for Christmas. Now I have to spend the same amount on her little brother but, as I said above, he wants the Guitar Hero III for Christmas so I'm sure I won't have any trouble spending as much on him as I did on his big sister. LOL

(Zone 7a)

Too late to talk to you tonight but I'm glad everyone had a good day! Everyone gone to bed? Migraine all gone away?

Oh well. Yes, we got the rest of the floor in the office cleaned and I can actually see the desk now! LOL DH showed me how the use the snowblower and I cleared our driveway off enough to get out and go to work. Foot started hurting so I made him finish it. Our HR manager didn't make it to work because of all the snow, so we rescheduled for Monday.

And I found out a friend of mine in Concord, CA had a bad day on Thursday with one of her bosses. She does the same thing I do and I guess one of the visits from a bigwig went badly. She says it was petty stuff and she doesn't know why he was so angry. He even went so far as to ask for her resignation! Ask a person who has had nothing but praise from everyone around her, including me (she was MY boss a few years ago) her whole career? She is in charge of the Security for five stores in NoCal. No one who she has told can figure out why this man has it in for her. You don't fire someone without just cause. Or as I heard an HR person say once, "You can't go from zero to fired without something in the middle." It made me so angry, I was ready to kick some serious butt!

And I'm ranting again. My friend has gotten some local advise on what to do and she feels better this evening. And so do I. She has even considered coming back to Salt Lake City! Yea! I would love it if she did. She my BFF!!! LOL

Okay, maybe I'll watch a movie and see if I can sleep.

Good night all!

(Sigh) Guess

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

What a creepy man and a creepy thing for him to do! But sometimes good comes from such things. Maybe she will end up moving to SLC and with a better job to boot!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks guys! The headache never turned into a full migraine, it was just miserable pressure in my head all evening. I feel much better this AM though. It got really nasty here last night, the deck was a sheet of ice, so I figure the roads were pretty bad too. Mike said is was slippery on his was home and Jess said she slid a couple times. We are gonna go tonight, its supposed to rain all day but the temps are supposed to stay warm until the early morning hours. So I'm gonna meet him at 5, and his son Jason is gonna take the kids someplace else. So we can do our shopping without the kids, but can still have our weekly dinner together.

Kwan, hopefully your BFF will move to SLC! Sounds like her boss has some serious issues :( Did you watch a movie? I hate watching movies alone, but with the way Mike works he can't stay awake to watch them most of the time. I finally got to watch The DaVinci Code last week, watched it on the portable DVD player in bed while Mike slept.

I found the kitchen flooring I want, now we just have to find it LOL Our local Lowe's doesn't carry it, but I'm gonna go in and beg them to order it. Its an Armstrong floor, and they carry other Armstrong flooring, so I'm hopeful. http://www.armstrong.com/resflram/na/tile/en/us/prod_detail.asp?itemId=95219.0 That is the one I want. Oh, and as goofy as this sounds LOL I get to pick out a new commode tonight :-) The one here has horrible lime and calcium build up in it, and I just can't get it all out and it looks terrible. So Mike says we'll get a new one :))

Jeff is coming to get the kids again today, I was hoping to stay home, but Jess called and her computer is going crazy, so it looks like I'm gonna have to go try to reformat it. I'd rather do it here, but I don't want her to have to drag both the kids out in the rain, and the computer too. So now I gotta dig out my box of computer CD's cause she can't find her Comcast CD, and I still have mine. I'm just glad we got the couch moved yesterday. We had 2 couches here, and she didn't have one, and she loved the one we had, so we gave it to her. I need to get another chair or something, but I need to leave room so I can put up the card table, so I can start doing my jigsaw puzzles again. I love to work jigsaw puzzles. I haven't had room for a couple of years, and Mike said we'll make a spot here cause he knows how much I love doing it. I have still been buying them, even though I didn't have anywhere to put them so I have a bunch and he just got me a bunch more for Christmas. For Christmas the year we were together before, he got me like 6 or 8 new ones, and they were so cool. There were 5 shaped ones, a dove with Christian scenes, a horse with galloping horses, a Harley Davidson one that was all bikes, and a 57 T Bird that had a classic diner scene one it. I'll see if I can find pics to send of them. There was one other shaped one too but I can't remember what it was now. We have one we bought then that is still put together on a piece of cardboard at my other house, we are gonna glue it and hang it in our living room. Its a deserted old west ghost town scene, but overlayed on it is a ghostly horse and cart scene with 2 ghosts in the cart. Its really cool I'll see if I can get a pic of it without too much glare so you guys can see. Do any of you do jigsaws? I also do Suduko, but I can do that anyplace LOL.

Well, I've rambled long enough, hope everyone has a good day!

Hugs
Janis

(Zone 7a)

Janis, I do jigsaws!!! The ones you have sound fun. I do the fantasy ones. You know, with dragons and such. LOVE to see a pic of the ghost one. And the name of the company who makes it so maybe I could find one for me.

Jeff turned out to be okay, I assume. And good on the migraine issue but bad you had the pressure.

The flooring looks pretty, too. DH moved our fridge a couple of days ago and gouged the floor good in a few spots. So we might be getting new flooring, too.

I did watch my movie. The Devil's Backbone. It's by a Mexican director. And it's about a small boy in Spain who is dropped off at an orphanage. It's the middle of a war (not specified which war but last century) and the young boy begins to see a ghost. The rest of the movie was the boy finding out who the ghost is and what happened to make them a ghost. I liked it tremendously.

Temps supposed to be 40ish today so maybe some of the snow (8in. when it stopped) will melt. Coming home at 10pm last night was kind of nerve racking. Everything frozen over but I made it.

Everyone well?

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I love the fantasy ones too Kwan! I have a fairy one, that is iridescent, its really pretty. I do alot of the Thomas Kinkaid ones too. I'm not sure if I have the box that puzzle was in anymore or not, I think I used it for a Christmas present LOL I'll find the company though. I'll just Google til I find it LOL

Ok, maybe not LOL Between Google and eBay my head is spinning I'm gonna find out who made it, if nothing else I'll go back to the store where I bought it to see who made it LOL Cause I need an excuse to go back and look at puzzles :) I do remember we paid like $30 for it, I wouldn't have spent that much but it was so neat.

Jeff seems to be fine acting like his normal bratty self. He is now yelling at me from the relative safety of his room that he isn't gonna shower, he isn't going with his dad and he isn't going out to eat. LOL I told him he can take his shower the easy way (cooperating) or the hard way (not cooperating- I'll put him in with his clothes on if I have to)

The pressure, well, its a weather thing, believe it or not. Any weather change that comes through that affects the barometer, affects how my head feels. My kids too. We have a rare hereditary thing called an Arnold Chiari Malformation and it affects the flow of cerebral spinal fluid. So when the barometer changes, we can get headaches. My oldest was in bed all day with a headache according to my mom, and Sarah came out and told me her was hurting later on in the evening. Of course, when I had the headache I didn't realize why I had it LOL But the barometer must have evened out cause I feel pretty good today :)

Thanks about the flooring :) I'm doing the kitchen in a grapes and ivy thing ( I might have told you that already) and I really like that pattern. If I can get it, I'm gonna take a piece of it to Lowe's and have the paint for the kitchen matched to the green I think. He wants to to pick out the bathroom flooring too, but I have no idea on what to do for the bathroom. :( Ideas please LOL I hope you get your flooring too :)

Never heard of that movie. I ordered a special edition of GoodFellas last night. Have you ever seen Diary of a Mad Black woman? Its comedy/romance/drama I guess. Its really good IMHO I liked it so much I bought it LOL It isn't a movie I would have picked up at the video store, but a friend convinced me to watch it and I loved it.

Its 41 and raining here right now, supposed to go up to like 51 by 10 PM but then temps will drop and its supposed to get bad again. LOL on the snowblower, but sorry your foot started hurting. 8 inches of snow?? yuck Glad you made it home ok though. I need to call my sister and find out how their trip home last night was, she and her DH went out for their anniversary. Married 12 years with 5 kids (well 6 kids, but one is my nephew I need to get the grave blanket for.) They have been together since she was in Junior high school. I'm pretty sure she was in 7th grade and him in 9th when they started "going together". She says (jokingly) that they can't get divorced cause they can't decide on who has to take the kids LOL They have girls 11, 9, and 6, and twin boy and girl that will be 3 the 23rd. My other nephew would have been 4 on Nov 7th. Her first 3 kids and my youngest 3 are only a couple months apart in age, all born in the same years. She had Ashley and I had Tori in 96, then we had Leigh-Anne and Sarah in 98. Mom told us we couldn't keep having kids together every 2 years so in 2001 she had Kodie Lynn and I had Jeff LOL Mom said that wasn't exactly what she meant.

Marsue, sounds like you guys had fun yesterday! I'm not sure what riding lessons will cost us, haven't even checked yet, but we are putting Jeff in Karate, and Sarah in dance or gymnastics, so hopefully Tori will get her riding lessons. We are gonna try the Karate instead of putting Jeff on medicine for his hyperactivity. I've already got one on ADHD meds :(

Geez, here I go again typing another novel LOL

I'm gonna throw Jeff in the shower Wish me luck :)

Hugs
Janis

(Zone 7a)

LUCK!!!

Sorry about your nephew. I didn't figure it out until you mentioned it again. I think I was thinking he was older for some reason. We lost a nephew in '92. Suicide. Said he didn't want to go to church, pried open the gun cabinet, well, you know. His mom found him. It was just an aweful time. His dad blamed himself for years but has since come to understand it would have happened with or without the guns in the house. He HAS gotten rid of them, though.

They have three other kids all grown and moved out. Justin is living near his parents in Portland OR, with his wife, and two kids, Lizzie and Rainey. Erin lives near us in Provo. She has MS and NOT handling it well. Tim (my favorite) is living in Portland too but he's never home. He works as a river trip guide and goes all over the PNW. And sometimes into Canada. Tim comes into town to visit us now and then.

Oh the things that come out of my "mouth"! LOL Didn't mean for it to go this far but...

I have to go to work now, so everyone have a good day and I'll be back later.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Kwan,
Suicide is rough. My favorite uncle shot himself on Dec 10, 1998. The day before Tori's 2nd birthday. Sarah was only 2 and a half months old, and I had lost my dad in September of that year. Uncle Dean had never mentioned suicide, he and his wife already had plans and plane tickets for Christmas, so it was totally out of the blue for us. He had obviously been thinking about it for some time, as he had whittled a piece of wood to push the trigger with.

My nephew, Brian Jr, was born Nov 7, 2003, still born at 37 weeks. He was Brian and Jennee's first son, and since Brian was the last of his family line, they were trying for a boy (which is why they have 3 older girls). It was one of the roughest times in my life. I know how badly I hurt, I cannot imagine what my sister was going through.

My sisters husband has a tentative diagnosis of MS right now, but they aren't convinced that is what is wrong with him yet. Its a mess. My sister found a study in Holland that showed that 50% of the people studied had developed MS after losing a child under the age of 18 unexpectedly.

We made it through all the showers with minimal yelling and arguing. Now I've got my 11 yr old arguing that she is gonna wear her black bra with a white shirt... Sigh..... Some battles I can just let go, because it just isn't worth it.... but this one I'm standing firm on. LOL No black bra's and white shirts.... oh boy, just another day in my world :)

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Kids--LOL, you could let her wear that only if she wears a sweater or vest over the white shirt, or keeps her coat on!
Interesting about the MS study in Holland. I'll have to look that one up, just out of curiosity.
I lost interest in jigsaw puzzles as a teen, because inevitably, the one crucial piece I always needed, ended up missing, or the dog chewed it up. LOL But there are some amazing ones out there, esp. the three-dimensional ones. I don't see myself having the patience or skill for something like that, though!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

My 16 yr old and my mom love the 3D puzzles. I have never tried one. When Jeff was a baby, I did my jigsaws in the kitchen with a baby gate in the door to keep him out of the kitchen. The kids love to "help" me with them, so I keep a close eye on the floor around the table where we do them. When I first did the shaped 57 T bird puzzle, there were like 3 pieces that didn't fit quite right. When we got it finally finished, there were 3 pieces left over, and they "fit" in the spot the other 3 didn't quite fit. I said at the time I'd have been really ticked off if I had gotten the puzzle that was missing my extra 3 pieces!! Have you ever done the jigsaws online? No danger of losing pieces there lol I don't like them much though, I need to be able to touch the pieces.

I finally managed to convince Tori that the black bra and white shirt was a bad idea. You should have seen her dad's face when I told him about the argument (I was explaining why she wasn't ready to go when he got here).

I'm not sure where Jennee found the MS study KyW, but I'll ask her. I just found it interesting, cause 50% seems like an awfully high percentage.

Time for my shower, so we can go out tonight. Its so peaceful here with the kids gone, I've been cruising the Web, and playing this stupid game that I'm addicted to called Cake Mania 2. Its so stupid its fun (almost). I'm just bound and determined to beat it.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Online jigsaws? Uh-oh, could be addicting... I play a lot of Mahjongg. I'd better not even check out the one about the Cake--I looove cake. LOL

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I play alot of Mahjong also! Its addictive enough LOL

The cake mania game is just alot of mouse clicking, it makes my shoulder hurt if I play too long LOL

Here is a link for online jigsaws :) http://www.shockwave.com/jigsaws.jsp

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

You and Mike enjoy your evening, Janis!
P.S. to me the only thing worse than a black bra under a white blouse is black panties, especially a thong, under white pants! Ugh!! Good for you, Janis, for teaching your daughter that young ladies don't show everything they have. BTW, did you say she is just 11 and already wearing a bra? Wow, I was flat-chested till I was 16--had to wear a padded bra --LOL

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Marsue me too! (to this day I wear a padded bra but don't tell anyone LOL)! I didn't' really need to wear a bra until after I got pregnant with my first.

She is growing up so fast. She doesn't really need a bra all of the time yet, but I was really uncomfortable in the way she looked in a couple of her shirts. She is slightly retarded (I hate that word) and developmentally delayed so her developing in that way early really freaks me out. She thinks all people are good, and nothing we can tell her changes her mind, and she is very gullible and easily persuaded to do things, because she doesn't realize she shouldn't. So maybe bras this early are being over cautious, but I'd rather be over cautious than have consequences to face :(

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Oh, that's got to be scary for you! I don't blame you for protecting her. Though most people are decent, the ones that aren't and are good at hiding it are why we have to protect them.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

True, KyWoods.
and Janis, I don't blame you one bit for being cautious with your daughter. I have seen young girls out in public who really should have been wearing a bra but weren't. Their mothers don't realize that those little 'boobs' sticking out are just an advertisement for some dirty-minded man! With all the terrible stuff we hear on TV about girls being kidnapped, etc., etc. you would think that these mothers would be far more cautious about what their daughters wear in public. Makes me shudder to even think about it!!

(Zone 7a)

I really hate being at work all day and missing out on the fun here!

That being said, I caught two young girls (both 11!!!) shoplifting today. Both of them had black eyeliner so thick around thier eyes, they looked like they belonged in a brothel. I'm serious! Half an inch thick all the way around! Boy oh boy. And the parents didn't blink an eyelash at the kids makeup when they picked them up. I can't say it to them, but I can to you, that I think those parents need to go back to kid training school!

Stick to your guns, girl. She does hear the guidance you give, even if she is challenged. Kids that are that way know and hear a lot more than others give them credit for. You know that because you're with her every day.

I need to go now because I need to check out those puzzles! LOL

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I cannot believe 11 yr old girls with that much make up on :(( I don't even let Tori have play makeup yet. I told her when she gets to junior high (6th grade 2 years away) we would talk about it. And shoplifting to boot? I'd have beat the parents I think. And from what I read they were alone in the store? I barely let my kids go to the restroom by themselves when we are out.

I absolutely hate some of the clothes kids wear these days. I'm 35 years old and I wouldn't wear some of the stuff (even if I looked like I did in HS LOL) They look like little street walkers! My girls love the Bratz dolls.... anyone seen those? Sleaze city! And the "Baby" Bratz - they have on thong underwear!!!! OMG give me regular Barbie dolls anyday.

Speaking of Barbie dolls, has anyone seen the new John Deere Barbie? She is adorable! http://thetoywizard.com/John-Deere-Barbie/M/B000TNRVN2.htm Way to pricey for me though.

I'm gonna try to get down to the other house in the next couple of days, if I do I'll at least try to see who the artist is on that Old West Ghostly puzzle.

Well, obviously we are back LOL Dinner was nice (the kids behaved for the most part) and I got my flooring, but not the one I wanted. We ended up with this one http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=185394-79508-Jade&lpage=none Its more green than it looks in the picture. I got my paint and border too. The paint is called willow wind. Its a beige with a green tint, I guess. And I got ivy border. Got the wood look flooring for the bathroom, and paint for the bedroom and living room too. We just got an off white for them. Haven't picked border for the LR or bedroom yet.

Well, I'll let you go for now LOL Kwan, did you like the puzzles?

Hugs to all

Janis

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

pretty flooring, Janis. I used to have a green tile floor in another house. Your flooring looks a lot like it. I just loved mine.
You mentioned above that you are getting a new commode--or was that kwan? Anyway, we have hard water here, too. Even though we have been in this house just a year and it was new, we are already getting a faint line at the water line in the bowl of the toilets. I have tried CLR and a couple of other products but none of them seem to work. Does anyone know of a miracle product out there somewhere that gets rid of these hard water stains?

(Zone 7a)

Yes, Marsue. There is a miracle out here to remove those stains. it's called a "DH"! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Janis, the flooring looks wonderful. I think I would have picked that one first, though. We have some white marble tiles that were left over from a remodel in one of our stores years ago. There's enough to redo our laundry room or a small bathroom. They let me purchase it ALL for $1.00. I love retail.

I like the JD Barbie, too.

My DH works at Boeing and here's a pic of my Rosie the Riviter (sp?) Bear.

The two young ladies from yesterday had everything against them from the start, I think. Thier parents didn't seem to care, friends didn't seem to care, nobody except one of our employees said something. She said something like..."Does our mom let you out with all that on your face?"

Society needs to step up and take a stand. "It takes a village." Am I right or not?

Oh, and I play Mahjong, as well.

(Zone 7a)

Nobody around today, it seems. I check back tonight.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Sorry all, was in town all morning, just got home and have to go get the kids, will post when I get home (its snowing here!!!)

Hugs,
Janis

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Kwan, I agree about it taking a village. People just don't seem to care anymore, and society reflects that :(.
Marsue, it was me that wanted the new commode. We ended up not getting one. I'm gonna drain the water from ours and go after it with a scraper :( Not alot of fun but it looks SO gross.

Glad ya'll like the floor. It wasn't my first choice but I think it will look nice. Real marble would be nice someday :)

I love the Rosie bear Kwan. She is precious.

Well, I had an unproductive morning. I took Jess to Wheeling to take her baby (Zoe) to the physical therapist. She has something wrong with the muscles in her back and neck. The therapist showed Jess a couple neck stretching exercises to do with Zoe and that was it. I could have found them on the internet for her :(( I have to call Easter Seals for Jess. There is something wrong with Zoe, and Jess knows it and I know it. I know that a mothers intuition is usually right, and I'm not gonna sit back and do nothing. The doctors are telling her is torticollis but the therapist said today it seems like more than that to her. Here is a link to torticollis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torticollis

Geez, its been a long day. Went and placed my nephews grave blanket, it looked nice in the snow, but I didn't have my camera with me.

I'll check back later on

Hugs to all

Janis

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, I did my good deed for the day... hopefully it doesn't come back and bite me in the butt LOL I bought my ex hubby (my 17 yr old's dad) a trial subscription to DG today. He is off work on DR orders, and bored stupid, and he loves to garden and grow roses, so I got him a 2 month subscription to maybe give him something to do. Now if we can stay out of each other way on the forums we'll be ok LOL

I also took care of Christmas for my 17 yr old today, he already got the present but he is happy. He has been buying a dirt bike off my sister and her hubby for months, and I paid it off for him today. We are also gonna get him the rear tire it needs I think, I haven't talked to Mike about it yet. It was cheaper than what he was asking for tho LOL he wanted either a laptop or an XBox 360.

So I did get a bit accomplished today.. even though it doesn't feel like it. Its awfully quiet in here tonight :( Where is everyone?

Hugs
Janis

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Been gone all day and I need to go spend some time with DH this evening even though we were together all day. He gets to feeling neglected if I spend what he thinks is too much time on DG. Maybe I can get back here after he goes to bed or at least before he gets up in the morning. I am always up before he is
:o))

Can't resist saying that if you don't tell your exH about this thread, Janis, he probably won't find you here! LOL

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Marsue :) I understand about DH feeling neglected, I don't post much after Mike gets home unless he goes to bed. I figure he is gone 14 hours a day working, I can get off the computer when he is home. Funny thing is, he refuses to get on the computer, but he is really good at "Hey honey, go to this web site and see.... " :) So even though I try to stay off here, I always end up back

I don't plan to tell EXH about this thread.... but he might track me down :) Hopefully to thank me, and not to bite my head off LOL

Hope to talk to ya soon

Janis

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

My DH (Buddy) is the same way--he won't touch this computer--doesn't know how to turn it on and doesn't want to know but he wants me to look up stuff for him--LOL
He suffers from chronic back pain and his back has been hurting him all day so he went to bed early and I am watching the Hallmark channel movie and catching up here at the same time. I have a small TV in my computer room so I can do both. :o) This TV is a color TV with a built-in DVD player and would you believe I bought it at Fred's Discount Store last year right before Christmas for a mere 89.00? It's an off brand which I never heard of (naxa) but it has a good picture and works just fine.

Is it still snowing up your way? I love watching it snow from a distance--like when I am standing in front of a fireplace with a good fire going in it and it is snowing outside. I don't like being out in it, especially driving! People here in the south don't know how to drive on snow and/or ice--it's a nightmare down here if we have a big snow--wrecks everywhere! :o((

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

When I looked outside earlier it was some flurries, nothing major. They were calling for lake effect snow showers tho, so I'm not gonna complain about flurries!

Thats an excellent price for a TV/DVD I got my 19 in TV and DVD /VCR combo for 100 each a couple years ago, think its been about 3 years now. The TV is sitting in Bubby's room, not plugged in and the DVD/VCR thing is still at the other house LOL

I remember what it was like in AL when I lived there in the snow :(( A call for flurries sent people scurrying to the grocery store and wrecks galore! Although, they didn't know how to drive in the rain either. I don't like to drive in the snow and won't unless I absolutely have to :)

Talk to ya'll tomorrow

Janis

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, its 10 til 9 AM, I'm frozen solid, and its 25 degrees outside. We keep a friends dog for the winter, while he and his wife are in FL. Went out to take the kids to school, and guess who isn't in her pen, but is wagging her tail at me, wanting to go for a ride? LOL Well, nothing I can do about it right this second, got to get the kids to school. So when I got home, my neighbor came over and helped me get her back in her pen (with a can of food) and we hopefully got her in there so she can't get back out til Mike can get it fixed. We have been lucky this year though, Mike says she is an escape artist, she could get out of the pen before he crossed the yard last year :(

I guess the weather is supposed to take another turn for the worse tomorrow, and my baby has a field trip for school. Not sure how I feel about that yet, they are going an hour away, to see "The Emperors New Clothes". I know that is based on a fairy tale type story, but isn't there nudity in it?? I dunno :( And I'm not sure they need to be going if the weather is gonna get bad. Guess I'll just wait til tomorrow AM to see what it looks like outside.

I have to go pick up at least a couple groceries today, and I don't wanna :(( Its cold outside! I wanna hibernate! But I don't really have any choice, we need food in the house, especially if its gonna get nasty out.

Right now though, I'm crawling back into those flannel sheets to try to get some more sleep and get warm! Hope every one has a great day!

Hugs
Janis

Sigh I'm here talking to myself.. LOL

Not going back to bed (sob sob) gotta run up to my moms, take the neighbor (he is turning out to be handy to have around) and have him look at my mom's furnace. It quit working last night so they don't have any heat... just another fun day around here! LOL

Where is everybody? I think Kwan got lost in the online jigsaws, haven't seen her post since LOL

I'M HERE!!! LOL I posted yesterday morning but I was the only one here then.

I did spend some time on the puzzles but then I had to go to work. I had my interview about the new job. I think it went very well. I was asked some Qs that kind of threw me but I recovered quickly and answered well. Like...Has there ever been a time when a co-worker lost their temper and how did you react? Was the problem resolved? We have to be big problem solvers in the LP world. I think that's why we gravitate to jigsaws, crosswords and videos games that require puzzle solving skills. It's in our nature. Asking questions is a big part of our job too, to figure out what is happening and what we're seeing. Appearances are not always what they seem.

Okay, so...I have my coffee and it's 34 degrees out. Supposed to rain and snow the rest of the week. I have late shifts all week but I'm off today. Midnight closings next week! Ugh! I love my job and the company I work for, and I even like retail but driving home at 12:30 or 1 o'clock in the morning Is bad in the winter. Whether it's snowing or not.

Janis, you'll have to find out what his screen name is so we can keep an eye on him for you.

I'm here, too. Been trying to catch up on all the threads I'm watching. Guess I need to cut down on some of them but now on the ones with you two on them! LOL Y'all are way too much fun!
What's a LP, kwan. I'm sure it has something to do with being a security guard but I couldn't figure out what the L stands for: Lady Policeman, maybe? Well, no Marilyn, it doesn't stand for Lady Policeman! LOL I can't imagine having to drive home that time of night in any weather!

I missed something: Whose screen name and who are we supposed to be keeping an eye on. Oh, I just remembered: It's Janis' ex.
Sorry you didn't go back to bed, Janis. My DH did and he is snoozing right along. Said he was just going to try to get his back to ease up some. The only thing he can take for it is Tylenol because he is on a blood thinner (me, too) and he can't take Advil or ibuprofen or anything like that. I wish we could find a doctor somewhere who will take him seriously about the kind of back pain he is having. They have taken xrays but they say nothing shows up so they dismiss his complaints. They can't do an MRI because he has a pacemaker. He has just sort of gotten lost somewhere in the dark recesses of the medical profession. They can't find anything wrong with him through conventional methods so instead of trying something else, they just forget about him. He has practically been eating Tylenol and that isn't good for him, either. Poor guy!
Forgot to say that I like your Rosie, kwan.
I haven't checked out the website on torticollis yet but I am going to do that now.
Be back later. Hope the weather doesn't get too bad, Janis.

Sorry, Marsue. LP is Loss Prevention. I forget who I'm talking to sometimes. We have a whole slew of acronyms. Like the militsry. We have to adjust to other people and NOT use them. LOL Sometimes we get a job applicant who was in the military and they have their resume chock full of acronyms. I have to call my DH and ask him, "What is this?" Sometimes he knows and sometimes not. He's ex-navy. (He says NAVY stands for Never Again Volunteer Yourself. LOL) We have to ask the applicant to rewrite the resume.

The sun came out here so maybe we won't have too much rain or snow.

I'm listening to a morning show on the radio. One of the DJ's has just used the word..."Celebutards" in regards to dumb celebrities. I love it! LOL

Marsue, tell your DH we're thinking of him and hope it will get better. Tylenol IS bad for people but there's nothing else that can be done if you're hurting. I have back pain too but I just muddle through. Not as bad as your DH, though.

Thanks for the kind words about DH, Celia. I'll give him your message.

Love the acronym for NAVY! LOL and now I know what LP is. DG is so educational! LOL

Sun is shining and it is 58 on my back porch. I think it is colder in my house than it is outside. I gotta go turn up the heat and get me another cup of HOT coffee. I take a blood thinner and sometimes I find it hard to not only get warm but also to stay warm.
Be back later.

(Zone 7a)

I'm heading out for breakfast. I NEED FOOD!

Be back soon, girls.
