What is your handle good buddy? Do you have a smokey on your tail?
Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - User's Guide
Victor had Smokey on his tail in prison but that's another story.
no wonder he spends so much time in the basement.
Zuzu: I'm glad that my cat isn't the only crazy one!
Just in case, my fellow NE gardeners, that I should 'disappear' for a while, I am letting you know that we are on 'baby watch' with my youngest DD. So far, her labor has had to be stopped three times. I am going nuts trying to figure out logistics. She and her young daughter live with me and of course I also am the grandma in charge of three other grands during the day. How do juggle one infant, one toddler, one first-grader, and one teen-ager, should my DD suddenly have to give birth?
All of the above is purely rhetorical. I will do what has to be done. That's what moms (and grandmoms) do ... right?
But if I should not post for a day or so ... that's what's up with me.
Good luck Candyce!
So Harper has great handles and Celeste is a babe that can still do splits. I LOVE THE NE WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does your DW know about this? Huh?
A platonic love, of course.
Thanks for the well wishes, Victor.
For Victor, or anyone else who thinks about smashing their computer, you gotta see this (watch the NYT video): http://www.screensmasher.com/.
Cute, Amy!
i think i have to get that for SOMEbody for xmas!
Not me! I want a new notebook.
I asked DH for a new lens for Christmas, and he is ordering a 170-500mm lens!! I'm excited.
Wow! You'll be able to zoom in on my area! What camera do you have?
Rebel XT, actually we are looking at both up to 400, and up to 500mm. The 500 is only about $100 more, so...
I just sent the link for the screen smasher to my Help Desk crew! On-oh - now they will know that I haven't been working and cruising the internet - again.
Oops, AYC!
I'm still looking forward to moving up to a dslr, Deb. Maybe next year. The one I'm drooling over now is the Nikon D300. Do you have a good macro? That's the biggie for garden shots.
Actually my best macro lens is for my film camera and it doesn't work on my digital. My digital lens I can get about 6-8 inches away. So, maybe I want a new close up lens too. And a fisheye. I don't use my film camera at all any more, but don't want to part with it. Not sure why.
I know what you mean Deb. I have an old junker of a film camera, but I can't part with it either.
Candyce and Zuzu - LOVE those cat shots! I have never had a cat, but am becoming very smitten by cats. They are so adorable. I am getting really attached to the 19-year-old cat that lives outside, gets fed on the sidewalk every morning and makes a bee-line for me when she sees me coming, because she gets a nice neck and back rub. Her name is Hillary and I think she's adorable. Those kitchen shots of your kitties are just awesome! Here's Hillary.........
Candyce - I will be keeping DD in my prayers, and you all as well. It sounds like you will have some real juggling to do, and I'm sure you are very happy that DD decided to come "home" for this event. Good decision indeed under the circumstances! Best of luck!!
Candyce, Good luck to you and your daughter. I hope the weather cooperates.
Hillary's adorable and she looks quite healthy for 19, DonnieBrook.
Good luck and best wishes to you and your daughter, Candyce.
That is such a typical classic cat photo ! Sauntering down the middle of the sidewalk like she owns the place ! LOL
What is that blooming ground cover?????
Thank you, all, for your well-wishes.
Yes, I am absolutely thrilled that my DD is home with me, but on the other hand, it is VERY stressful. But, enough about me ... (but, I'll keep everyone posted on the birth) ...
What IS that attractive ground cover???
Candyce - good luck with everything. I know what juggling is and I only have one!! I'm sure you will make everything fall into place. I will be thinking about you and your DD!! Eleanor
Zuzu and JD - Hillary is quite the cool lady! I enjoy her a lot!
JD and Candyce - I'm not sure what the ground cover is. Most people here consider it a weed, but it has a lovely little flower. I'll see if I can get a close-up of the flower and try to ID it. It is all over my back yard and I really like it. There are also some beautiful tiny blue flowers that are a ground cover also.
Louise:
The ground cover just looks so nice! I hope someone knows what it might be.
I agree, Candyce. I took a close-up shot this morning of a patch in my back yard. The flowers in this shot are not open - they are similar in that regard to the closed bottle gentian. If anyone can id it, please let me know! I'll try to pursue the ID myself later.

I think they are Blue Star Creeper or Swamp Isotome........
I still haven't identified the darker blue flower that is also a ground cover here. It grows much more sporadic; I'll see if I can catch a shot of that one.
DB...I think you nailed it !
They sure are pimping that Jets/Pats game tomorrow. Not sure why when the Jets are out of the playoffs.
They are?!! With lousy weather, it may just be in the cards for the Jets to do it. Historically though, it would be cool if Miami knocked them off.
I'm rooting for Miami to go winless with how big of jerks the '72 guys are. I have to root for the Packers to beat the Pats in the Superbowl though - if everything goes right.LOL
You're right Victor, it would be funny for that game to make the Pats 15/1, and Miami 1/15.
A big storm is coming, so the Pats will probably get out that little plow again and bring in some extra video guys to record it for the Jets for good measure. The only * Don Shula is going to get is when they have to bleep out his response to the Pats getting yet another win and Miami loses again. Or at least I hope so. Though I would feel sorry for them(Miami) especially Greise, and Twilley (he lived across the street from my mom before she moved and was a good neighbor to her). Though when I knew him in college he was rather full of himself. Patti
