Victor - that first shot of the spirea is very interesting! Amazing pics....again!
To show you some contrast, this is a shot I took this afternoon on our sunset walk. This is where we walk every morning and at sunset. I was lagging behind and got a shot of my DH and Molly.....
Fall Color 3
DonnieBrook, contrast indeed! The palms are so nice. The sunset with birds, DH and Molly in silhouette is a really great photo.
Thanks, Bebop! As you can see from my DH being bundled up in a big sweatshirt - it was a bit chilly! Invigorating day!
Very nice Louise and Allison.
thank you Victor.... the back lighted JM is very pretty... you have a good eye
Victor you just keep outdoing yourself with great color pics, really wonderful. Considering how long before fresh green spring color will return all your fall pics are really appreciated.
DB yo have warmed me up on a frosty morning with the palm trees and sunshine down there. Not much going out and moving about happening here I'm afraid, looks like a nice place for a walk, you are very lucky.
hey Victor- we may not have much time left, but this is getting a bit slow...
Beautiful, Anita! Here's the new thread:

very pretty anita
Great shots, Anita!! Very lovely!
Ngam - so glad the palms warmed you up! Yes, we are very fortunate to be here!
Nice, Allison! I can imagine how much nicer 'in person'.
If I wouldn't have gotten killed by sitting on the side of the road.... I would have.... a light snow storm was blowing in... my whole view to the left was... black.... to the right.... bright as anything with puffy clouds... took my breath away.... those moments come with a bad side.... when I look at the skyline.... I can't remember where the towers were any more.... brings sadness too
Oh I know that feeling. I mentioned in another thread once that the towers were smack dab in the middle of the view from our block in Queens. You could draw a line on a map. I watched them rise as a kid.
Lovely shot, Allison! How sad for you both about the view now without the Towers...especially for you, Victor, having seen them constructed as well.
even though I did not loose anyone personally.... amazing how I am still affected... I can say my two worst days were driving home and seeing the huge plume of smoke and the day we went to view the site... my bf was taking the port authority test to be a cop in NYC..... seeing all the photos and memories of the family members ... a terrible thing
you grew up in Queens, Victor? I lived in Astoria for almost 2 years, before CT. near 31st and broadway.
My DH lived in Brooklyn Heights from when he was 12 through college (his folks still do) He has a lot of memories of the towers too - i first arrived in NYC in November 2002, but one of the 1st things i did was to go and see where they'd been.
I've gone to the site the past 2 years to remember and pray. I only had 2 days in NY, but that was one thing I had to do.
Yes Amy. I grew up on 27 street, between 21st Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard, in Astoria.
I still have not gone to the site.
Lovely shots, Kudrick. I'm a bit homesick for snow!
Pretty, kudrick.
Very nice Kudrick!! Eleanor
I spent alot of time with my grandmother who lived on 29th street between 20th and 21st. I used to hang with a bunch of kids who lived in the neighborhood during the summers.
I can't bring myself to go to the site. My family is NYFD. Needless to say there are alot of sad memories. My brother, thank God was uninjured, but will never be the same. My father lost all the men he worked his career with [he had retired as an Assistant Deputy Chief]. Days upon days of funerals and memorials. I will return once the site has been rebuilt.
Wow - very close to me, Anita!
I didn't lose any close family or friends but quite a few friends of the family and many friends of my cop friends. I'll go when they have the memorial done.
Shall we start a thread with which to show off our lovely snow photos?
I think we had mentioned this before. I can't remember the names of the kids that I would hang with. There were a few greeks guys. I think there was a George and an Ivan, not that that would help. We would have so much fun. There was a Christina that lived next door to my grandmother. We learned to shuffle cards while we watched Starsky and Hutch.
Sounds like a good idea, Candyce.
I probably knew them - at least by sight, Anita.
Love the ice shots, kudrick!
pretty ice shots Kudrick ... do you like this said rain chain?
:)
