It is presently 66 and we are expected to reach 77 today, doesn't seem like Oct. does it?
Romeo doesn't mind.........he hates rain and the "S" word!

70 degrees this afternoon.......what a gorgeous day! I've been inside plasticizing linens and sorting what can go and what has to stay and washing everything in sight and putting just "one more thing" in my 9,000 lb weekender suitcase......ah, the life of a snowbird about to launch! Molly is starting to look nervous, so I have to keep reassuring her that she's going too. This shot is from the last trip up.........I must remember to pack "Buddy" for her.....LOL

Can you post at each mile along the way so we win next week?!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Boy, I wish I could. I will be in withdrawal without my wifi and DG. I will try to check in from the hotels. The ones we stay in allow pets and most have wireless internet. I am not terribly trusting of the hackers that may be lurking in the hotels, but who cares if they hack into DG.....right? It may get them into gardening and change their whole way of life!! LOL

I know I'm cutting-edge technology challenged, but can anyone tell me if I had a blackberry, would I be able to bring up DG as we're crusing the highways and biways on our way south? I don't know how that works....but if it would let me stay connected, I might just think about robbing a bank somewhere in Fla. where I'm not recognized.

Hey, I just realized - I'll be reconnected at home in Fla. possibly in time to pull an all-nighter as we try for the record this time.....Victor - what day do you think we'll be going for it???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Do you mean the weekly top honor or five millionth post?

Can't answer the Blackberry question except that you are not always in the signal range.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Whatever you are referring to "next week". I'll be back online by sometime on Monday, but with food shopping and snake-scouting around my garden area and catching up with the neighbors on walks, who knows whether anyone can count on me for anything productive!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Okay - that's just the regular 'most posts' deal. There is no set time to contribute - any time of the week will do. And don't go on Games!!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Soap making is catching up.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm sure they'll slip.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

APMP!!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

He won't be back for a week, Victor
*sigh*.

Today looks like the last 70°+ day we'll have for a while - like, till April. i hate how long winter goes on for up here...

Low of 39° on Sunday - eek!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, after about 70 tomorrow it will be more Autumn-like. Today was a bit too hot for this time of year. Just doesn't feel right.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Can we have an Indian Summer without having a frost yet?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No. That's the definition - warm weather after the first frost.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I don't mean to step on any toes, but I don't find anything interesting on Games....to each his own! I'd rather goof around with the characters on the NE threads....

Deb - what is APMP?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

almost peed my pants after Victor slipped on the soap!!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

as long as he didn't drop it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I was wondering what that stood for!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Well, of course....!! Now I get it! I'm slow after sunset....I think they call it sundowner's syndrome....and that Victor.....he's something to keep up with!!!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Actually Victor, you remind me of my sister Cindy, she is very quick witted, and always makes us laugh!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does she shave her head?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

not yet....

Amazing sunrise, Celeste! I just love those colors.

For today:
54° at 7 am
Very high humidity at 96%
Slight breeze out of the ESE, with some pretty hefty gusts blowing the leaves around
And, rain is forecast for later this afternoon and evening

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks Candyce, it's one of the things that make fall worth the cold that will follow. Some of the prettiest sunrises happen between Oct.- Dec. off my back deck! LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very pretty Celeste. 61 and very overcast here. Rain predicted for tonight.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Mostly Cloudy with chance of showers

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You too Anita. Thanks.

Do you have a weather station now??

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Partly to mostly cloudy right now. Windy and very humid, 58 degrees and the sun is trying to come out, not much luck yet. Rain tonight.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Up to 60°
The wind has switched over to the South and it is blowing!
The last gust registered in at 20MPH.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Very, very windy here now. Heard a tree keel over out in the woods. What color was here the last few days is getting stripped off the trees by every gust. Sun still trying, very humid.

71 The wind is blowing and starting to sprinkle on and off.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

This will probably be my last post until I rejoin you from hot and humid Florida! We'll be leaving tomorrow and should arrive on Sunday.....God willing and the creek don't rise......see, I'm practicing my southern expressions again! Right now it is 70 degrees and very windy. The leaves are swirling around and looking magical and heaven sent!! I'm working my tail off here to finish the little close-up details....like making sure there's nothing liquid anywhere that will freeze. We have had so many field mice here this summer, and I expect they'll love having a bed an breakfast all to themselves for awhile! The rain is definitely on its way, so we're trying to pack the cars up as much as possible now.........Enjoy your week and weekend, everyone - until we e-meet again!

Louise

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

What a difference between yesterday and today. we're down over 20 degrees. it's 50 right now and has been raining steadily all day. But still no frost in the forecast this week!

Have a good time Louise!
