and my supervisor. (taking a break)
he appeared in august, always about 10 - 15 ft away watching me garden.
i think he used to be somebody's, he will calm down when i talk to him, and he lets me get very close.

There are more - a black and tan that looks like someone in his past was acquainted with a siamese, and one that is all black that herself runs off loudly.
those two are the regulars - and they hang out together...

Brrrrr chilly!
It's just 26* here this AM, so I know there's frost out there. I don't want to see it when the sun comes up! But, we have managed to get all of our tropicals inside. The trick now will be keeping the cats away from them!!

So, like I said:
26* with no breeze
Humidity is at 82%
The high for today is not even supposed to hit 50*!!!!!

BTW, the sun will rise at 7:19 ~ almost two hours from now ~ and then set again at 5:45 this evening. Yeppers!!! The days are getting much shorter!! *sigh*

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

We finally have our first frost - down to 29 and dropping :( Spent the entire day bringing in plants from the deck yesterday and ran out of time finding spots for all of them, so a few are still on the kitchen counter! Also didn't have enough time to dig a few things from the gardens that I'd like to overwinter inside nor take Coleus cuttings so covered them up with sheets. Keeping my fingers crossed that all is not lost - just too many darned plants - the "jungle" is back!

Isn't that a bit cold for VA?

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

Not really, we're a really cold Z6a on the west side of the mountains, get all of that brutal weather blowing through from the Ohio Valley. East of the Blue Ridge it's alot warmer - Zone 7-8!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's 28 now and the furnace is on. It's not expected to get over 46 today!

It is just too darn cold. Only good thing about it is: The sand fleas took a direct hit.

I get up when I get up. Sometimes it's around 4:30 AM, and sometimes it's by the dawn's early light, which is around 7. I have no rhyme or reason, I just do it. When I get up early, I like logging on to DG so that I can catch up. Sometimes it takes hours to get through my watched threads!!

Amazing how the first frost occurred over such a large area from north to south! Had mine too.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I imagine we must have had ours - haven't been outside but DH says the window boxes look like that got run over by a bus! LOL! He thinks they'll 'bounce back'; he must have been listening to me too often!

Personally, I thought they were adorable!
One of them even looks like the one we have living under our garage.
