Celeste:
I am so sorry to hear about the little bunny. He/she looks so cute in the photos you have. It's such as shame, but that's the way of the wild. And, the hawk looks VERY impressive!!
I remember glancing out the window at the birdfeeders one day to see a red-tail swoop down and make off with a mourning dove. Feathers everywhere, but no more birdie!!
Water Cooler
My DH is my fan lol
Candyce, the hawk has done the same thing here.......swooped down, picked a bird up flew off with it and that was that!
BTW......your Grandchildren are beautiful! Bet they keep you busy!!!!!
Eleanor:
I think it's a riot that we have the same book! I love listening to the kiddos as they turn the pages and 'talk' back to the book.
I'm still not getting many hugs from Miss Audri, as she's still in the 'getting to know you' stage of things. However, you should hear her and 'Miss M' talk and jabber between each other! It's so darned cute!!
And, when Sesame Street came on yesterday morning, I got the cutest photo of them both in their respective 'chairs' with their sippy cups. They both had their eyes glued to the screen!!
Michaela, you guys should be big fans of the Labor Dept. now! Try to find a jersey.
Celeste:
Busy and grands kinda go together. But I'm loving almost every minute. Thank goodness we don't have 'territorial' issues ~ YET!
Louise:
I've been thinking of you a lot this week, as you get ready to head south. It must have been a very busy last few weeks for you. I just love your home here in NH, and your beautiful gardens. I can't wait to be bringing both DGDs down to visit next spring!! And, you and I will definitely have to meet for coffee here at my 'ranch'.
Victor:
I love you just the way you are: bald, beautiful, witty, and a great friend!
Thanks Candyce! Isn't that a soap - the Bald and the Beautiful??
Michaela:
I am so happy for you! You can actually become a citizen now. Hooray!!!!!
Words cannot describe how wonderful I feel.
I believe you are correct, Victor. And you are the handsome leading man, of course.
Aw, shucks. Thank you Candyce.
I think I will start a campaign to put the "u" back into labor (labour)
Now you know why it took so long for your approval.
Thanks, Candyce! I am having separation anxiety.....told you I was the wrong astrological sign to be a snowbird!.....but I'll be back before you know it - and ready to do some visiting!! I also hope to be part of an RU up here somewhere......got to meet more of you in person!! Take good care........you'll hear from me next week from the sunshine state! Gulp.......that means I'd better get off my DG butt and keep packing and cleaning......LOL
Does this mean we have to find you in the Florida forum now??
No way, 3G - Unless they block you from the NE forum once you cross the Mason-Dixon line!! LOL I'll slither around the Fla. forum while I'm down there, but my heart will remain in the NE Forum!!! You won't even know I've left, except for an occasional palm tree shot just for credibility purposes!!
Credibility? or to make us all envious???
hehehe
so that's what went wrong. Thanks for cluing me in, Victor lol
Candyce:
I love you just the way you are: bald, beautiful, witty, and a great friend!
but i thought we established at the RU that Victor is mythical - no one has ever seen him...
(even tho he claims to have been in CT recently!)

Amy:
Weren't we discussing the possibility that Victor may have been hiding inside the statue out in front of the restaurant?
Hope it was the statue of a woman!
It was!
oooohhhhhhh ~
Bad!!
man, i SO wanted to climb up there and get somebody to take my picture - i guess i was just trying to be "well behaved" when meeting y'all for the 1st time.
i should know i'd rather regret things i've done than things i didn't do!
Yeah, why didn't ya?
May I have this dance?
I'm confused - which one is you again?
Since this is the "catch all - talk about anything" thread - needed a place to vent and figured this is it! If anyone saw my weekend project they know I had 10 cows in the fields surrounding the house last weekend, frustrating but was pretty sure the problem had been resolved - NOT!!!! Came back from the grocery store on Tuesday night to find Rick making a mad dash out of the driveway to chase away 18!!!!!! cows in the field :( Called the owner, left a message, calmed down and relaxed on the deck with a comforting cocktail after a long day. Within the hour our cat started acting "funny" and sure enough, there were 7 of them back and this time IN the gardens! Rick went for the car to chase them, but I beat him to it and flew down the stairs screaming and waving my arms at them to shoo them away. They took off back into the woods again - the dust was flying they were running so fast! Left another "message" for the owner and started with preparations for dinner. Sure enough, an hour later they were back again :( Once again, I ran after them and chased them off - still no signs of the owner. We got up twice in the middle of the night and they were in the gardens, in the fields and in the road! Rick called the owner first thing in the morning to find out when he would be over to take care of the problem and mend his fences - when he "pushed" him to find out "when", the owner told him to "Go to #@*%" and hung up. Within minutes, however, someone showed up to round them up and hopefully mend the fences. At this point we were so angry we didn't stick around to talk to them. Fortunately, when we returned no signs of cows. This is an ongoing problem with this "neighbor", every spring and fall, usually see one or two show up, but never a whole herd of them!!! Needless to say, with recent and future plantings in the landscape, this is one problem we don't need :( We've been 'patient' in the past, but not sure how much more of this I can take! The joys of living in an agricultural county :( Thanks for letting me vent.
"Good fences make good neighbors" never made more sense to me.
Cows probably don't gome up much in the garden pests forum. Good luck with that neighbor.
Sounds like a pain Deb. Too many times for a coincindence it sounds like.
I once played golf on a course where a horse was loose on, I was 3 putting all day - my best round ever.LOL
Wow, sorry to hear that Deb. Something permanent must be done. Fresh beef is yummy.
Oh Deb, that's awful! I know how you feel, having lived next to a dairy farm in the past. I hope your 'neighbor' will act more neighborly in the future.
Heads-up - Garden Crossings is having their Fall clearance. 30% off the entire order and free shipping on orders over $50.

I love Garden Crossings but I will ignore. I finished planting for the fall the other day and that is the end of that. But since it's the water cooler....has anyone ever hired a personal trainer? I decided to take the plunge and did it. It's been 2 weeks and I have to say, with much fear and trepidation...it's even better than gar.......oh i can't even finish that sentence. But ,wow, what a feeling of power, from my own internal "machine"
A personal trainer is a good idea.....probably the only way I would ever be able to stick to an exercise program....somebody, paid for, to push you..
I am absolutely LOVING it and cannot find enough words of enthusiasm for "workin out." But I will have to curb my enthusiasm for plant purchases so I can pay him :~)
