I'm glad your not holding your breath Victor, if I had held my breath each time it seemed like we may get some rain, a mummy would be doing this typing. 65 degrees, and a lingering fog this am, gives a little moisture to the plants and mystery to the curious.
Today's Weather in Your Garden 3
Overcast and 66 with 76% humidity and a high of 76 predicted. No outside work today.
Overcast with fog/mist and 58 degrees. A light shower overnight, about one eighth of an inch only, but every drop helps now.
74 right now. it was still very cloudy this a.m., but seems to be clearing some now. It's windy with a possibility of 'sprinkles' this afternoon. the forecast hasn't been right for the last week. currently it's supposed to be around 80 and sunny the next 4 days.
Feels pretty warm here tonight! High 60's at 9:00 p.m........Looks like a nice warm day for the CT RU.....
Oh my, I can't believe it's October. It is 70 degrees and very humid. I think we had a total of 23 drops of rain last month, and this month it looks like we'll have to settle for high humidity for our moisture. With all this, I still have loads of color in my gardens. I have blooms on my Hostas, Hollyhocks, Butterfly bushes, Correopsis, Impatiens, Asters and Mums (of course), Phlox, Echinecea, Liatris, Mallow, Gerraniums, even one of my Azeleas has a single flower in bloom. It's fascinating. I have to grab a couple of water bottles on my way out because I have such a hard time getting myself back inside. WOW what a year! Have a great day.
Waiting for the sun to appear here. It's 67 with 82% humidity and going up to 78 degrees for today's high.
A bit of a fog this morning, with a temperature of 62 degrees at 6:15.
Humidity is at 95%, with a slight breeze out of the SSE of about 3 MPH.
It's supposed to get to 82 degrees here today, while tomorrow and Saturday might have record-breaking highs.
58, and gray skies so far here this morning, hoping for sun the next few days for my annual New England foliage and moose trip! Will be headed out later this AM.
Anybody near Baxter State Park, Maine? How's the weather there?
Deb:
No matter where you visit in New Hampshire or Maine this weekend, the temps should be higher than normal, and the skies free of raindrops.
Good weekend for the convertible then? Nothing better than driving down the road, in the sun admiring the bright fall leaves, and hopefully seeing a moose!
Definitely a convertible weekend!
67 and very muggy here. Mostly cloudy. Is this late August?? Supposed to be near 85. Yuck. Daisy, I think you had a few more drops than me!
62 and pleasant here during the evening news! I was surprised that the humidity didn't seem to reach up to our hilltop today. It was very nice. Tomorrow should be warmer, so we'll see what the humidity does here. Looks like a summer weekend! Enjoy, everyone!
Sure wish you were coming to the RU, Louise!!
Another beautiful day in the Northeast. Temps somewhere in the 80's. Perfect day to be outside and enjoy the weather, but I was inside cleaning (YUK)!! I would have much preferred to be in the garden. I posted on another thread (can't remember which) what happened 20 years ago on this date in the Albany area - big snow storm that brought down trees and power lines. We only got a couple of inches in Glens Falls, but Albany got 1-2 feet. Did the rest of the Northeast get that storm? Crazy weather - you never know what it is going to do!! Eleanor
I think it's August here in NJ. Hazy, Hot, Humid. August (the real one) was also the last time I saw any rain :(
Yeah - too hot! I have a plant delivery to get in the ground and it's gonna be hot and humid tomorrow! And no rain in sight.
Hot and humid. Just resorted to the A/C. Trade plants, bulbs and purchased plants have to get planted regardless of the weather. I'll be out early.
I do recall that storm but Long Island didn't get it, Eleanor. I was supposed to go to a street fair with a friend but she was snowed in and couldn't make it. She lived in Westchester.
I don't remember that storm. I'm resisting the A/C. Attic fan should be sufficient.
Love my attic fan, rarely use the A/C, except with high humidity - like yesterday. Venu I beleive your right, it is August - dratted fibbing calanders. Having all this extra time to remain outdoors comfortably sans bulky jackets, boots, etc. is really great. It is 65 degrees now at 1am, for sure it will be an early start outside. Enjoy the day, and the long w/e. :)
64 right now but the 86% humidity makes me think it's going to be a humid day. I hope not - too much to get done.
My temp is 44 degrees this AM, and it looks like the sun will be waking up to a cloudless sky.
Humidity is at 98% with a 2 MPH breeze out of the SSW. That means that warmer and moister air will be moving in today!! Ugh!
Temp here is 45 w/93% humidity this morning, should reach 79 today. Yesterday we hit 81, the record for that day was 82 in 1941.
Almost tied it, but not quite.
I'm bnetting you meet or beat your previous record today, pixie.
I hope so Candyce....DD is flying in from Tampa tonight and I told her it's nice and warm here. She'll be landing in Manchester.....was just there on Wed. so DS is picking her up tonight. I need to stay home and make the cake for DD baby shower. I'm hoping the humidity drops or im going to have a heck of a time w/the frosting!!
You are going to have SUCH a great time today, pixie!!
I wish my youngest was flying in. I miss her so much!
When is your DD due, again?
Ultra sound says Jan. 6......Momma's(me) 6th sense says she'll deliver between Dec. 20th-27th.
But I would like to see her born on Jan.3rd for several reasons. My brother who has sinced passed away was born on Jan.3rd.
DGD #1 was born on the 1st of Jan, and DGD # 2 was born on the 2nd of May so it's only fitting that DGD # 3 be born on the 3rd right?
Absolutely!
I'd go with my 'momma's instinct', too. So, we professionals will give the due date as the 3rd!
My youngest DD is due about the same time. So we will both have lots to celebrate!!
Whats your DD's due date? Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?
Tiffany (DD) is having a girl, I went w/her to the ultra-sound so she already knows what she is naming her....there is no boy name picked out so they better be right!!
64, foggy and 85% humidity. I'm pushing for Jan 1st, Celeste!
But we already have a Jan.1st baby. No kid wants to share their birthday with the little cousin!
Ashleigh, youngest DD, is due around Christmas ~ but they keep changing her due date because of the measured size.
It will be another granddaughter, and the name that have chosen (so far) is Jordynne Marie. 'Jordynne' is for my middle name, which is Lynne. 'Marie' is for DD Anna's middle name. So we will both be honored. I should probably say that Ashleigh is 13 years younger than Anna, so Anna was always quite a role model for Ash.
Tiffany is naming her daughter Oryanna Eve.....no idea how she came up w/this name but it's different.
I know why Victor wants January 1st - his birthday!
My 16 year old DGD was born nine hours before my birthday and we both enjoy having our own celebrations.
Actually, late December is better for financial reasons - tax credit!!
pirl:
My oldest DD was born on my birthday. We never have a problem celebrating hers!! LOL
Yeah, Victor. That's how they planned their first daughter, born on December 23rd!! This little angel, however, was not planned. Funny how that works!
Hmmmm.........which name is first on the cake? Two cakes?
Only ONE cake ~ and ONLY for her!!!
