All BEAUTUFUL Dee!!! Hoping we can trade!!

Houston, TX

Thanks Ronnie and Beckygardener,

Yes we will trade but you have to have something that we want and currently there`s not much out there that we don`t have or can`t get here in Japan. But I will make a few trade offers to a few but I don`t need seeds.

The first 5 responders will be added to our current group of traders from earlier this year.

I need lolly pops for my students. They don`t have them in Japan and I would like to give my students some for HOLLOWEEN. In return I`ll give you JMG seeds from this growing season and samples from this years MG festivals. LMK

I know these are not Japanese rare mutants, just the odd Flying Saucer and Heavenly Blue, but all the same I had many pleasant surprises growing MGs this year...

Dear friends, I am not sure this is a new genetic trait (I will not claim that until I am disproved in not believing it) or as Ron has pointed out this may be caused either by minerals or the very high calcium content in our water here in Fes, Morocco. After all, everybody has observed colour changes in his/her MGs over the day. I used to think that it had to do with the high temperatures or as somebody said dropping temperatures, but now we have pretty constant temperatures, and it still happens...Here is another photo of my Flying Saucers...

Martin - Whether it's a new trait or caused from something in your soil or water .....
It's really making some very unusual patterns and colors on your blooms! Looks really nice! I wish my soil/water would produce something like that! :-) Lovely!!!!

Blue Silk turned purple...and before you ask about the leaves this MG happens to grow on one of my pepper plants, so these leaves are somewhat misleading...

Dee,
Those Kikyos (platycodon flowers) are just incredible, so are the other ones. I bet your family loved it out there in the garden while these were in bloom.

Are they still blooming at this time?

gofast, very interesting flower, thanks for sharing.

Here is an interesting shot of a blue silk color change. The top left half was shaded from the sun so it didn't shift to purple.

Yes, I am also completely in awe when I look at these Kikyos. What's a nice treat is that due to their somewhat tougher leaf structure, spider mite doesn't seem to like them or perhaps hasn't discovered them yet. Tomorrow I'll have another flowering.

Does anyone know if the Chinese are still into Asagaos because they started the whole craze by exporting their seeds to Japan...but back then, it was rather for medical purposes than the beauty of the flower. I have been on the Chinese website at ebay and tried to type in something in English, but wasn't very successful...

Hi Dee, have you seen the photo Arlan posted about a yellow ipomoea in this thread, right at the bottom:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/771298/

We were wondering if you have seen more photos or read about it in special Japanese papers or magazines...

Please continue your thread, we have enjoyed your flowers a lot...

Would those of you participating in the trade with Dee please d-mail me. I have a question to ask you each about the postage that the U.S.P.S is charging. Thanks!

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks y'all! I just needed to make sure that my post office wasn't trying to scalp me on the postage overseas! I sincerely appreciate all of you who d-mailed me! Thank you!

The picture posted is an extremely rare plant. It`s an eddy dwarf (parent wooden system) morning glory which becomes a cactus like plant. I have seeds and is trying to get more to share with those that I know would enjoy growing it.

Instructions says to germinate these when the weather is hot but I`ll try one and see what happens.
