Rare Japanese Asagao

Houston, TX

These are some wild ones growing in a field. I was told about these by a friend and hope to collect some seeds when their done. I worry because the prefecture will start cutting down the weeds I think sometime around next month. If that happens before the plants start making seeds then I may just go and uproot a few of them.

This is super nice

Be sure you get those wild MG seeds.
It looks like I. purpurea with very nice split petals.
Hard to imagine that as growing wild.
They should transplant without a problem, even if you have to cut them back to untangle.
Take your potting container with you and water.
Secret ingredient is Fish Emulsion when you get your plant (s) back home.

I would love to be added to your trade list though don't know if I have anything you would be interested in. Emma has been my source for the vines I've grown out recently and I would imagine that you have many of hers already. :-) But if not, please consider me!!! (Waving my hand !!!!)

Hi Beckygardener, thank you very much and I think we can add you to our group.

I was posting pictures this morning and the system would not respond after I posted the first picture. Trying it now to see if it`s working.

I thought I might add a nice flower, too, Dee...I am absolutely thrilled with this Ipomoea nil platycodon, picotee, it starts out like a dark blue gentian and turns into a purple bell...

Nice flower Gofast.

I too grew red white and blue ones of the platycodon. The red ones are my favorite.

Speaking of flags, this is new and it`s called Koki and is named after the Japanese flag.
Yes, it is some what different than the other JMG that looks simular.

This is a mutant JMG and the picture is one that did not mutate into what was expected but still the flowers are unique in its own.

This is a B-34 a rare mutant JMG. The flowers were 3-4 inches and the colors were different shades of blue.
Will make available a few.
