Is there a problem?

Ecrane, I'm very sure I didn't mess-up the little brackets, nor forgot any of them; otherwise the text would not have been transformed to bold which it did. But you're right, this is another issue and doesn't fit in here.

This may not fix the problem, but until it is fixed, why not type what you want to in Notepad and then copy and paste it into DG. That way if you lose it, you still have a copy of it in Notepad. Sometimes if I am writing a long post, I do that anyway. Maybe this can help until the problem is resolved. It is just a thought.

Any other shots in the dark at what could be doing this to me and others?

Can you try logging the times these things occur?

Dave -- Is there a way such logs could be correlated to DG's server info, like if the browser at a user's IP address was refreshed to a new page view at the time the "poof happened", or if it was the same page?

I lost all three shortly before I came over here and posted. I am still not the only one this is happening to.

I'll take any help I can get right about now.

I lost a DMail reply this morning. I hit enter to drop to the next line and a screen popped up that said my mail had been moved to the inbox. I tried to do print screen but couldn't do it on my new laptop.
The mail had not been moved...it was no where to be found

I use IE7, have brand new Norton, purchased when the 90 day free trail was up. The computer scans regularly so I know there's no virus

This has happened before, 2-3 times, but like others I figured it was just a hiccup and ignored it...until I saw this thread and it happened again

I'm still looking for anything I might be able to find based on the symptoms y'all are having. I'm interested to know if there's a connection between IE7 and this problem.

I had 3 Dmails go poof on me two days ago. I am using Suse Linux with an older Firefox version browser. No Windows, no IE of any kind, no Microsoft anything. Somehow I don't think this is browser related....

Good observation, Pardalinum. That might take Windows out of the running as probable cause.

I have had the problem from time to time as well. Once I happened to be looking at the text box when it disappeared and noticed that the whole thing was highlighted, just as I typed or hit the 'enter' key....and of course when you type anything while you have a section that is highlighted, the highlighted area is deleted. Since highlighting can occur when the shift key is pressed in conjunction with other keys or scrolling, I suspect that is what the 'bug' is for many of us.

Nope, that's not the bug for me or any of my friends who are still losing posts in threads and d-mail.

This is a very confusing problem indeed. Having a Firefox user on Linux experience this bug really does tell me that there's something more than I think going on here. I'm going to start a new thread about this, and I'm going to ask all of ya'll to help me figure out what's going on.
