Pink Blizzard x Purple Blizzard grow out results Thread 02

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

Yeah for Beth! I`d go ahead and mark that one and follow the vine if I wanted to see if the pattern increased. That last picture of mine where the flower is very light pink started out as a almost solid pink.

AuntAnne,

I hope she does bloom some more. I have been feeding my nils 24-8-16 Miracle Grow just enough the wet the roots twice per week and it is doing a good job helping the plant overcome the bug damage and they are blooming like crazy. I pull off the bad leaves and feed so the plant can grow out of it`s troubles. I think experimentation pays off in the long run. You try one thing and then another and go back to what works.

Thank you Karen, I was wondering if I should feed them. I will do that.

I meant once per week on the 24-8-16 Miracle Grow. :)

The other kind called bloom booster is useful once the plants have started growing good. Karen

and here is bloom #4 from the same vine.
I'd say this vine is a solid purple and didn't get any blizzard.

Are the 2 blooms above from the same exact vine as the more pinkish one you posted here(?)

What do you think caused the difference in the color seen in the photos...weather(?)...

They are all from the same vine, I think the difference in color is caused by the time of day I took the photo. They color shift towards purple later in the day. The lighting was the same in all the photos.

Beth, The lightening in the folds can be seen in both pictures. It is normal for the flowers to open dark and lighten within a hour or two. They can go almost completely fuschia or maybe pinkish purple if it is overcast and cool weather. Karen

Another vine is blooming now...looks like a purple, too! It's a small vine but made a HUGE bloom.

Vine 3 bloomed today and it is a pink blizzard!
Vine 4 also bloomed and seems to be purple, but the bloom was split so I didn't photograph it. There are more buds in line.
So far...

Vine 1 Purple
Vine 2 Purple
Vine 3 Pink Blizzard
Vine 4 Purple

I love the purples. Both the first purple and Number 4 are really nice.

Thanks to everyone participating in this grow out!

Next spring I`ll probably start some more. We can continue next spring and carry on with the counting and pictures then. Happy growing!
