Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.15 Visit with Friends

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Betty, my DH normally does all the cooking (even for my parents) so having to cook this last weekend when he was gone, was quite the challenge!!! But things turned out fine. He did most of the cooking today for the second batch for the week (my brother's wife and my DH cook on alternating weeks) and I finished it when I got home from work.

My DD is doing better - she did not stay on the anti-depressants because the little baby reacted badly. She was going to try them again (she's been on them for years and years, but had to go off of them while pregnant - although I've heard lately that many doctors are now saying that the very minimal risk of the baby being addicted is not nearly as important as keeping the mom sane), but when the nasty fog started lifting, she felt she would be okay. She may go on them again later - she'll have to see how it goes.

I will see my new granddaughter tomorrow (about 10 days has gone by - they live 60 miles from me so I don't just "drop in"!) and will get some pictures. I'm attending a function with my grandson at his school (fourth grade), along with DD and DGD, then staying overnight with DD and her family, then off to the folks the next morning . . . I need to remember the food (it will be in an ice chest till I get to DD's, then in their fridge, then back in the ice chest before I leave there on Wednesday). Sometimes I think having to think so much and keep my schedule straight will fight off Alzheimer's - lol.

Okay, best today: house is still clean
worst today: it's raining (not really complaining about it, as we need it, but it means I can't be outside this evening)
what I learned: I am patient with everyone except DH

Betty, pass on the Va Creeper and go for something alittle prettier like a Clematis, passion vine, honeysuckle (red) or Jasmine.

So got the good and bad news on the truck. The good news is it wasn't the transmission. The bad news is it's the 4-wheel drive system and the bearings and accuators - whatever the heck those are!!! Anyway, the cost to get it fixed is only $1600 (gag, choke, faint!) When he told me that, I was like 'and this is the "good" news'? How the heck much would the transmission cost???? If it was just the 4WD system and not fixing it would just mean we couldn't use it, then we wouldn't get it fixed right now but the guy told me that whatever the accuators and bearings are control the wheels so after awhile, the wheels wouldn't turn. So, I guess we need them! Thank God for credit cards!!

Guess I really do need to get a job!!!

Will check in again in the AM!!

Cheers!
J

Best worked on the backhill. Thought I'd have it done in a couple of days. Boy was I off! Will take several days to get it back into shape!

Worst is I'm pretty sore today! Didn't think that would happen either.

What did I learn the minute you stop doing garden stuff even if you work you are going to be sore the next day!

Trying to rain here so will do indoor stuff. There's plenty of that to do.

Betty did you get a good rest last night?

Murmur sounds like a plan on how not to get alzheimer's. Just heard on the radio to do stuff like that to keep it working! Did that come out right?

Wonder you are doing good!

Hope you all have a good day.

The Weight Of The Past
Regret
Holding onto regret is like dragging the weight of the past with us everywhere we go. It drains our energy, leaving less available for life in the present because we are constantly feeding an old issue. This attachment can cause illness the same way watering a dead plant creates decay. We know that something new and beautiful can grow in its place if we only prepare the soil and plant the right seeds. We also know that we create our lives from our thoughts, so dwelling on the past may actually recreate a situation in our lives where we are forced to make the choice again and again. We can choose to move on right now by applying what we have learned to the present and perhaps even sharing with others, transforming the energy into something that is constructive and creative for ourselves and others.

Forgiveness is the soothing balm that can heal regret. In meditation, we can imagine discussing the issue with the self of our past and offering our forgiveness for the choice. In return, we can ask for our selves’ forgiveness for keeping them locked in that space of judgment for so long. We may also want to ask forgiveness from anyone else who may have been affected and perhaps offer our forgiveness. By replaying the event in our minds, we can choose a new ending using all that we now know. Imagine that you have actually gone back into the past and made this change, and then say goodbye to it. Release your former self with a hug and bring the forgiveness and love back with you to the present. Since we are usually our harshest critics, it is amazing how powerfully healing it can be to offer ourselves love.

Keeping our minds and our energy fully in the present allows us to fuel our physical and emotional healing and well-being today. This action frees our energy to create the dreams we dream for the future. By taking responsibility and action in the present, we can release our hold on the past.

B there are a lot of other vines that look better than virginia Creeper, it looks like Marijuana to me but I like the way it runs rampant as a quick screen in an area where you don't have anything else going on, like our house is on 5/8 of an acre and part of one side is a drive way and I have no planns but maybe other weedy obnoxious things like trees of heaven and elms plus that maybe to make the most out of time but in an area with other plants it goes way to fast and smothers everything.
