Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.15 Visit with Friends

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Here are the kids enjoying the bubbles.

Thumbnail by gillibean
Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Gillibean, look how much fun they are having...lol - a house full of bubbles...are you settling in now that school is getting to be routine?

I so did enjoy your visit..you were my first DG friend who stopped by..very positive experience so, you've opened the door for many more to come...those children of yours are so precious.. Say 'Happy Birthday' for me....

Shar wrote the following....

" I am flying out of nashville too early Monday morning, (6am) and will return the following Saturday, a fast trip, but will be fun and is much needed. I have had it with the house, had it with the yard, am fed up with my own company, and just simply need to get away. Thought about going south, but since daughter is coming here at end of month, didn't want to go there. Have relatives in Savannah, but hurricane season is upon us....so........ Son is in Chicago....works all the time, didn't want to go there either. So my very favorite cousin lives in the NE, and had been inviting and inviting, so finally decided it would be a great time to be there. We will have a good time, I know, and it will be good for me to be away from family responsibilities, get some rest from the house and yard, and just simply have a change of scenery.
While I am gone, Betty, do something about your headaches, please....and slow down a little bit while I am gone. If anybody misses me on the other thread, just tell them I am MIA for a few days and will be thinking of all of them."

Victoria Harbour, ON

OOOPS..forgot to check out..

Best...got the last 4 christmas balls done, ready to post Sat. a.m.
Worse...one of the girls is painting a 'doggie' on a muskoka chair..well it's so difficult with the slats having 1/4" between them to be able to paint it properly...she's an excellent painter but lost her 'hubby' nearly a year ago..she was here painting, he went to Dr.'s for check up, told him to go to hospital..by the time she got home, they called to say he was brain dead, took medication than watered his blood down and the rest is history...sooo I have to be extra patient but mentally she's not in a good place and we have to continually redo almost everything she does in an evening...sooo it's frustrating to say the least...but patience I have when dealing with her needs....so next week is another week..might even do some painting on it myself to help her out! Tonight she went out for a smoke and said ' brushes are there if you've an incling to paint', laughed about it but know she'd appreciate it..we'll see...
What did I learn...nothing earth shattering ....

Sooo it's nearing 11:30 and I'm still up..big day tomorrow..work till 1pm and then we're going Christmas Shopping ... need to spend that paycheck..lol...

Sleep well...

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

LOL, liz, cannas are about the hardest thing to kill, especially in your zone. Tough but beautiful. Better to give them away than think you could starve them to death or something. If you ever want nicer ones to replace them, just let me know:)

Yesterday-Worst--no rain....when will it rain? I'm looking into xeriscaping, people

Best- My daughter telling me about a "food web" after school yesterday

What I learned.....I'm having a hard time drawing lessons right now...but I'm glad I'm forcing my daughter to spend a little time outside with me in the evenings, I enjoy the company

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not good, slept in...that's what you get for being up so late..so must run..talk later!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Morning Thoght I'd add a bit before I start cleaning around the house. I'll do most anything to not clean. Well not really but it seems like it some time!

I'm to far behind to comment but I have been reading -laughing- saying you go girl-wow-and other comments where appropriate! You guys all do so many more different things then I do. But I am pretty satisfied with my life.

Work has been going pretty good. Yesterday went so fast I don't know what I got done other then wait on customers! Truck day went really good the day before that. Sometimes we are so organized at the store it is scary. Still having problems with the one asst. manager not keeping up the pace. But that is for the manager to handle. The new asst. manager is a pleasure to work with. She is learning fast and works fast. Takes comments and ideas from me the lowly clerk with a smile and thought.

We are to get a freeze here tonight. Today our high will be 55 degrees. DH said he would cover the tomatoes and cucumbers as I will be at work. That should be interesting!
Worst thing:::: day went to fast.
Best thing::::work went good
What did I learn::::I don't care to drive home in the dark but like being on the roads pretty much alone!

Gardengirl here is a picture of my garden helper. He is several months older then Murphy. Wouldn't they have fun together! He pretty much stays out of my flowerbeds but I think it is because all of them are raised and most of them are narrow enough I don't have to walk in them and he learned by where I go and a few scoldings.

You all have the day you need today!

Thumbnail by ves522
Pacifica, CA

vess, nice to hear from you i hear you on the cleanning around the house i know why i dont clean alot because i spend so much during the day cleanning and facing in the store lol you have two assistant managers? dont you feel good when the store is all clean, my boss rewards us on fridays.
no work but ring up customers, that gets me in trouble cause once i start to talk to them its on going for 20 minutes or more after they get rung up oh and look at your garden helper how cute is that.

tropicanna, thanks i tried once to give a bunch away i think everyone else knew about them but me lol

betty, what were you working on so late last night?

everyone have a wonderful day liz

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Liz Yes 2 asst. managers. They are openers and the manager has to work at least 52 hours per week! Us lowly clerks are just suppose to do clerking, facing and cleaning ! It just doesn't work that way when there are only 5 of us working in the store a total ot 6-12 hour days and 1-8 hour day. The assts. only get about 30 hours per week and the 2 clerks get about 18 hours each. It is really amazing we do manage to get it all done. So I do understand about all the work you are doing in that store and I do not envy you at all! LOL Manager bought lunch for the 2 of us yesterday. It was a nice treat! On truck day I took in apple rolls I made and some cookies! Now that the weather is cooler I will probably do more baking and taking in treats!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Vicki, look at that darling 'puppy'...taking time to smell the flowers...now that one should be framed or entered into competition..I marvel at the beautiful photo's you all post..although I've a good camera, must not be up to par to yours..you are about on the same parallel as we are and wouldn't doubt we'll get frost..although they are calling for higher temps today but on the cool side tomorrow..will be nice for working outside..need to clean the flower beds and deadhead so the flowers can sleep quietly this winter...lol....hope you carry a cel phone while travelling ... does give you a eerie feeling when it's dark and no cars are about...never have that problem travelling this HWY400..don't think there is ever a time day or night that it's not heavy...

Liz, it was a late night because I had the girls over for painting last night..by the time we clean up and I unwind it's much past my bedtime...next week will be worse as I think I'll have 4 or 5 new students and 2 more who want me to call as they are interested as well...they each pay $10.00 per evening + materials if needed, so I'll take $80.00-$100 I make each Wednesday night (rather than Thurs.) and purchase a Christmas gift each week..as soon as you told me beauty supply it all came back..sounds like you are having fun while working..that a girl...think the headaches were stopping much of my thinking process..lol...did know where you live and work...

Trop..what kind of 'drawing lessons' for you or DD....can we grow cannas here in my zone???? Yard is very big so always looking for something that will add beauty and take over to some degree along back property line...

Last Christmas when shopping I came across a warehouse called 'Vendables Giftware & Home Decor Warehouse Outlet' it sells discontinued lines, second and samples 50-90% off retail..I filled out a card to be advised of their sales and had forgotten all about this place until I received their invitation..several other outlets in the area as well...they have it 4 times a year.today is the last day of the sale so we might be late to get great items but worth a try..if Suzanne likes it, then the next sale will be Oct.16 and we'll be there that day..lol...they sell Royal Worcester/Belleek/Jamie Oliver/Fitz & Floyd and Dartington..good quality items...AND if nothing suits the needs that those I have on my christmas list then I guess I'll JUST HAVE to buy myself something special...I think that's a plan..

Just spoke to youngest son who works not far from that area and wanted me to have coffee with him but we'll be on a schedule as not to be on the highway when traffic is at it's worse..we get off at 1:00 and it's about 20 minutes from here..shop a bit and then home we go.did tell him though our home is back on the market, sad to say the couple broke up..sad...he wanted to know how much..I sold it for around $300K but bet it's now over 700K...

Going back to my shopping today...there are quite a few other manufacturers that open their door usually later in the year, to care for the Christmas rush crowd, but just maybe, some of them will be open...since my children were young I attend a toy and misc. homeware distributor and am able to purchase items 50-60% off..but I don't think they'd be open at this time of year..who knows..maybe it's worth it to them because of so many doing early shopping...

Christmas is my most favorite time of year..I go all 'hog wild'..when I movedI gave almost all of my treasures away..with Roger dying New Years Day and having to come home and put these things away it took away all the joy of Christmas...but since, I've started collecting and making again and enjoy it..I remember all the ramblings (in fun) as he'd take about 50 large boxes out of the attic and how he'd tell everyone if their name was in the telephone book then they'd be getting a Christmas gift..I know he enjoyed it every bit as much as myself..so I'm back on schedule, thinking about my workshops that I teach starting Nov., filling my Christmas list!

Read this this morning and thought it was worth adding to my post:

'Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just
promised it would most likely be worth it.'

And isn't that the truth...

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Betty, no drawing lessons, I should have said sometimes it's hard for me to reflect and figure out what I learned (or maybe in my case, what I should have learned) from the day

You should be able to grow cannas but would need to store them for winter. They're super easy, but wouldn't get as big or as many blooms as they would farther south. On the canna forum there's a thread I'm on a lot and I'll ask the folks in the northern zones what they do.

Victoria Harbour, ON

thanks Tropicanna...

Well just got home..what a storm coming across Barrie..high winds that almost lifted the vehicles and heavy rains..hydro was out here at home, not sure for how long though...

Well I've got the bath ready and it won't be a late night..shopping is heavy duty stuff...managed to purchase my mother's birthday gift (birthday on Monday) a gift for Jeff and one for a girlfriend of mine..they are all done except perhaps for 2...then of course, I bought my DIL a no reason gift and purchased a few things I wanted...we also went out for late lunch so all and all had a wonderful day!

I dropped in to Home Depot to try and purchase mirror sliding doors for the grandchildrens' bedroom as it's the last room that I need to install them in..out of stock so just might go to Rona and Home Bldg. supply after getting my car serviced in the morning..would like to have the closet door installed as this weeks 'to do project'...only way I feel better about the weekend is if I have something to show for it...

Also ordered 3 patterns from a primitive wood pattern distributor..hope they get here by next weekend so I can do a few..trying to figure out what other possible projects I'll teach at '1 day make and take workshop'...

You guys are going to shake your head at this one...there is the man, very, very nice..client of ours for over a year..drops in occasionally, really a 6'3 hunk..awfully attractive...now don't get excited..he's gay..but we have so much fun joking around...well I mentioned I was travelling to Florida at Christmas and we got talking and I invited him to come along..what better way to have a friend with no commitments..just good company...I'm not a judge of what's right or wrong...I leave that to the Lord..he could help with the driving as well...it will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the matter...my SIL and BIL think we'd have a grand old time..haven't told the boys yet, will wait to see what materializes..they know their mom, know how I like strays and how everyone has a right to their own lifestyle..so we'll see what their reaction will be as well...not sure about mom though .. lol...

Well, bath water getting cold..talk later for final comments of the day...
do hope you've had a great day!

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hi there, doing my last post before retiring for the night..

Just had a call from Judy (Seedtosser)..was nice talking with her, just love her to death...anyway Judy and her children were in an accident this morning...she was driving the children to school and was 2 blocks from home when the accident occured....a driver 2 cars ahead of her uncertain of where they were heading, made a complete stop at the last minute to make a turn, the vehicle behind managed to stop, Judy managed to stop but the vehicle behind her did not...so he hit her from the back and she ended up into the vehicle in from...her vehicle is a total write off but she is so thankful that her family escaped serious injury..Lord was travelling with them for sure!!! She has made appt. with the doctor to get herself and children checked over tomorrow...just to make sure everything is ok..probably in shock today and will feel worse tomorrow..hope not...so I said I would post and let you know..will say my prayers tonight thanking the Lord for watching over them...how tragic it could have been...so this is my worse (hearing about the accident) and my best (that they have no serious injuries to speak of) and what did I learn...nothing earth shattering today!!!

Talk tomorrow..

Victoria Harbour, ON

ooopppssss Laura, almost forgot to respond to your inquiry...it is stained glass correct that you want to learn??? I think it would be fun and worth a try...but if your attending was for the purpose of doing something for yourself and meeting new people then I would find the $$$ and go..after you've done your class and if you want to continue then I could certainly help you through some projects...would be my pleasure...you think about it and let me know..

Does your DH know how to solder???? if he does and could help you with the beading/soldering then it would be a simple task...lol...

Hope you are feeling better tomorrow (your today!!!)

Night all

Betty - I think if the guy-friend of yours is nice and trustworthy by all means have him join you in Florida! I think it would be a blast - and he can give you advice on what to wear!!! LOL

OK, so I've got some pictures to share. First off, I want to show you the wonderful job my dear, lovable Murphy didwhen he decided to help me cut down the hibiscus. Unfortunately, he was about 2 months too early!

Thumbnail by Gardengirl1204
Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

The next picture is another job Murphy did for me however, this is probably not one I would have picked to take place. Not only is a passage to China been started, he torn up my Ragged Robin plant which I absolutely loved!!!! It had beautiful little puffy pink flowers in the spring! :(

Glad to hear Seedtosser and her family are ok. gosh, makes you appreciate things pretty quickly.

soldering is actually easy and I like it, but I like woodburning, too

Here's Mr. Innocent....

note: grassy item hanging out of his mouth!

Lastly, here's the finished (almost) watercolor wall hanging I'm making. I just need to do the border and backing.

The pink fabrics behind it are for a quilt I'm cutting out for my DD.

evening all,

jeannine, lol omg he did run a muck in the yard! sorry, i cant stop laughing you caught him on film, good one boy look at him just proud of what he has in his mouth...lol

laura, glad your getting better any special plans this weekend?

best: friday is here
worst: omg possible family fued brewing again this one is over my uncle who has the barber shop downstairs from where my granny lives, apparently he says three kids were down there playing around last saturday, well he closed and he and the family went to nevada for the week .
well my grandmother is locked out so she has to go out the frount door down two flights of stairs to open the garage to do her laundry usually she go's down a flight of stairs through the shop to the garage so granny got a little mad and talked to him that the lock has to come off that door he agreed and said he didnt think to check it it must of been those kids playing around locked it on accident.
but my mom says it was on purpose and he needs to die so she can laugh and im a idiot because i talk to him oh boy he we go again i did tell my mom to not include me in this crazy pointing fingers of nonsence.
learned: the south pole is looking real good right now

everyone have a wonderful evening liz

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Hi guys it looks like you already need a new thread and I just found this one thanks to Betty. I do not like the new format, I can not find out where all the forums are, Do you know how to find them?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..

Missed you Dawn, we'll have to send you our DG thread address from time to time in case we loose you...you are very deaar to our group..getting worried as well about Tangie..must see if somehow I can find her telephone number to call and check up on her..that accident seems to have been a dilly one...

Jeannine, never would have thought to put those added pieces to the quilt...looks like Murphy..just to adorable..you can't possibly be REALLY MAD!!! lol I also shouldn't be laughing because I'd take a fit but..what can I say..flowers can grow back and will....thanks goodness Sailor is too old for digging..only damage she'll do is if her ball lands in the flower bed she'll do some tramping...

Liz..omg..they are at it again...almost like a soap opera..it must take all your energy to keep out of the eye of the storm...poor grandma..that's a lot of stairs to contend with..maybe she should wait till he's back....

Gillibean, what are you and family up to this weekend?

Ves...did you get any frost yet..sure is nippy out there this morning...hope your gardens fared well...you are probably baking today right?

Well, better get my act into gear...a few things I'd like to do before I head out to Midland to have the cars' first service...haven't had any problems so that's good...

Talk later...enjoy the day!!!

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Morning all,

So glad to hear Judy and kids will be ok. You can be a careful driver yourself..but never know what others will do.

Gardengirl..your watercolour quilt is lovely..I wonder if Murphy will recognize himself...LOL.

Betty..I went shopping yesterday too. My sister's birthday is next week. She is redoing her bathroom so I got her a set of towels to match the new wallpaper. I also found some placemats and tablecloth on sale for myself for the kitchen. The winds were really bad here too. I think your idea of having your friend go along with you is great. It would make the drive much easier and a lot more fun.

Liz..too bad your family is squabbling again. All you can say is "This too shall pass".
You asked how far I got on my bike ride the other day..well I didn't go more more than
2 miles. I had been going about 4 miles before the summer. It is the inclines that get me. I'll have to keep at it and build up stamina again.

Tropicanna..I have a few cannas..but they do have to be cut down and bulbs stored inside for the winter. This year I grew them in pots and they got bigger than when they were in the ground last year.

There is a yard sale not too far from me today. I might go and have a look.

Have a great day all.

Cheers,
Carol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Carol, thanks for the Canna info..might try some as well..not great with bulbs taken in though...your sister will love the birthday gift..got mom's as well as her birthday is Monday...and you are right, when you go shopping it should be one for you and one for MEEEE! lol...that's my moto..will try and find a garage sale or two but it's sprinkling outside so doubt there will be any....

They've just completely finished the biking/walking trail that goes from Waubaushene/Victoria Harbour/Port McNicoll then to Midland...little late to start my biking but will do in the spring...will be much/much too busy starting in October..something everyweekend and then preparing for all the workshops...

Well, just filling in time till 10:00...think I'll get this aft. project out and paints in line then when I return I can spend the day painting xmas pieces...

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Got down to 27 degrees! Hope the mator plants made it. Will see in a little while. Did cover them with heavy covers. So hopefully that is the worst for today.

Best is the sun is shining no wind yet and it is suppose to be around 65 degrees.

Too early to learn anything yet! LOL

So glad no one was hurt in the accident.

You all have fun this weekend! Feel better! or have a great work day!

Pacifica, CA

morning all,

betty, their crazy if theirs no drama they cant survive lol my sister has become part of that boo hoo group to, i got smart and moved away at 18 to be honest they have no clue how to enjoy life i feel sad for them, well its 8.00 am now i can go out side and make noise hammering the lights to the house :) dh called and told me their was a big garage sale and a flea market,oh what to do.... no im going to be strong and hang lights!

carol, 2 miles is great i'd fall over after one block so out of shape but im going for a walk later soooooo what goodies did you find?

ves i hate to admit it but its getting cooler in the mornings now i think fall is on the way hope youe plants did ok

well everyone have fun whatever you do liz

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just back from town..car serviced, met Greg (eldest son) in Midland and he picked up the mirror closet doors for me and is on his way to help hang them...now for son #2, I'm not very happy..Jeff divorced about 7 years ago..I still keep in contact with her..well Greg just told me that Lisa's sister passed away last week from cancer...now I know Jeff is busy busy at work on a major project...golly wouldn't you think it would only take a few minutes to text Greg or I..Greg's already given him the what for so I'm waiting for my time...DIL called to say how sorry she was and found out that Lisa is pregnant as well..she re-married last year...so it was good news/bad news this morning...

Didn't hit Home Depot but did get to Canadian Tire..purchased a leaf blower combination blower and vacuum I think..don't know if I really need it, but it wanted to come home with me..lol....turned sunny but quite cool...it's a real fall day..need grass cut so guess while I wait for Greg I'll get at it...

Don't you hate it Liz when you have to stay quiet half the morning while neighbors are sleeping..when you get up at 5, 8am seems like half a day...and I agree with you, so many need the drama in their lives..I like the flat-line type lifestyle..

Hope Judy and her family aren't suffering any side effects from the accident..will have to give her a call tonight....

That is so sad B. Men don't often react how we think they should.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dawn, I raised him better than that..he should have know to call! He'll get some words from me..it feels so damp this aft. even though sun is shinning..going to take a warm bath, get some paints out and work on a few projects...

Pacifica, CA

afternoon all,

dawn, i got confused with the new format to, if you go to communities then on the right side you have more options you'll see forums.

betty, sorry about jeff how is lisa holding up? well you got your doors bet they look nice up
lol it kills me standing at the door waiting for 8.00 it seems like the whole day passed right by waiting.. well i just came in got the lights hung on the house put lights up on the arbor and brought the halloween arbor out at the frount porch my neighbor came out saying no no no not yet now i have to go get decorations lol then we cut the peach tree back and pruned a few shrubs now that the worst part is done, every day i'll add two peices out it should be ready by the oct 1st stuck a pot roast in the oven so now to hit the couch and relax till the next burst of energy hits. liz

i'll post a pic of it tonight after it gets dark

Victoria Harbour, ON

Talk about energy..my goodness...looked at Halloween decorations today...thought about purchasing more but with buying the leaf blower and mirror doors and servicing my car..there went this weekends' budget..lol..look forward to seeing your photo's...

It's gotten so cold tonight that it could possibly freeze tonight..too many gardens to worry about..couldn't possible try to cover them all...it's sad but it's that time...

Late afternoon girlfriend Anne dropped in..constuction going on at her cottage so she spent an hour or so..must go see it tmr. morning...then my good friend Elizabeth from Ireland called..gabbed to her..she's leaving for Budapest (?) next Friday for a week so there went another 1/2 hr..thought I'd do the fall toasty thing and have soup..in comes Kathy so she joined me..she just left so guess who is going to bed...
Think I covered my best/worse and what I learnt in my earlier post...
Liz ..might just pop down later if not sleeping (or can't sleep) to view your photo's.....

Everyone is all festive and ready for the Holiday fest to begin, it goes so dang fast, christmas and Thanksgiving are running up on us. It's at Betty's door.

B, I would box my kid's ears for that too, but you know Men do not do the emotional and awkward stuff well without prompting or shoving. It makes you mad as Hades though each time they flounder at what is right. It isn't anymore comfortable for us sometimes either but we want people to care for us when we need comfort and friends too, sometimes you just give when it hurts. Slap him for me too Aunt B.

Pacifica, CA

morning all,

dawn nice to hear from you hope your feeling better.
has it cooled down your way? were feeling it in the mornings here, then we get the sun in the later morning.

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

hello all,

sorry to hear about the accident and so glad everyone is ok.

went to my DD for the weekend whilst hubby worked on the house. I didnt work as i had been unwell as you know. well, i decided to go to the doctors to get a check up and find out why its taking so long to get better. well he did a urine test and found blood. with this i panicked thinking the worst but it turned out to be an infection that i had for a long time and didnt really know. as you know i had been feeling exhausted and i thought the pain in my lower back was from the fall but it was a nasty infection that was rambling through my body undectected. he gave me antibiotics and my goodness! I feel sooooo much better! I feel human again. I cant believe it didnt know! so i have had so much more energy over the last two days which has been good. being doing a few craft things and pottering in the garden. so glad to be me again! so i will keep taking the course and all should be well.

yes betty, its stained glass i would love to do. yes hubby can solder and he is happy to teach me. I have dabled but he along with you can show me more. As he works in the glass industry making windows, he can help me to interpret your instructions in terms of cutting the glass and help me to practice so that will be a help.
Now I am MORE than happy to assist financially. You are a kind hearted person and so giving. I know how expensive postage can be so you let me know.
I cant wait! Im so excited! I always wanted to do it and my sister would never show me. she did lovely work but she didnt want to share it which is fine.....

cant wait to post my first project on her for you all to see,....

I must take more photos of the puppy who is no longer a puppy. here i am thinking i have a lap dog and he just keeps growing!! he's huge! I,m used to maltese/shitzu's which are small and sit on your lap. Leopold is a king charles spaniel/shtzu which i thought was small too. he can be soooo naughty but he is so full of love that you cant stay mad at him...he just wants to adore you is all. its all he has been put on earth for it seems and has plenty to pour out. Its so hard to stay mad at him and belive me, he gives us =plenty of reason too! lol

My GS is doing well and growing!! so is my GD and such a chatterbox! She loves her 'ninny' thats what she calls me as she couldnt say nana. Over here a ninny is someone who is silly or something but its ok, its what she calls me and its cute. She loves craft things too. she loves to make things much like my daughter. Gosh they would love you betty! if we had the money we would certainly come and visit you... you never know... one day....

Went to bunings today (home depot) and my youngest DD bought me 4 table torches that hold citronella, they are black cast iron bases standing about 16" tall with copper pots to hold the citronella. she also bought another two a different style that go on the bar outside. They were marked down from $30 each to $5!! I also got a fit set, you know with the shovel and poka and such for when you have the fire pit going? stainless steel and cast iron. It was $10 on sale as it had no box. I also got some wind chimes (I love wind chimes) and seeing as i have an ocean theme going outside in the fernery along with some tree frogs, she bought me one that is a fish and two sea horses. I will take a pic and post them when they are up.

well, that was the weekend that was. Feeling human again and on the mend. Had some retail therapy that cost me nothing and time with family.

Hope your weekend is a good one and you all stay safe, well and warm.

Morning all..sunshine here but on the cool side..again. a beautiful fall day..with the early morning rain yesterday I was unable to cut the grass, really only the back yard needs doing but will wait till things warm up...can you believe it I woke up 3 times, turned around and slept again..out of bed at 8am..now that's like somes noon hour sleep in for me..lol..

Dawn, he's got such a good heart, nothing he wouldn't do for me or others, know the divorce was pretty bad and that they may have reconciled if not for her family...I didn't even know anything was wrong...so for sure no one can say I had anything to do with the split..in fact, her mother wrote me a letter saying they couldn't understand why I was so cold about the separation..heck, I didn't even know until it was done and he came to talk with me.said he didn't want to put unecessary burden on me..she comes from a very very affluent family..anyway..$3,500 a month support he pays..she's now remarried, expecting, beautiful new home and they've managed to have a speaking relationship (but not with her parents) so who knows...

I do know I had contact with him a few days this week, never mentioned it..just said that he was working 20 hrs. a day developing programs for the market things would soon be back to normal and he'd invited me for coffee on Friday but my schedule was a little hectic with 3 going shopping so I declined..but will speak with him today...who knows what was going through his mind..guess a lot of time these things bring back bad memories...so I'll not hang him, I'll just really let him know that I still think of Lisa as DIL and of course it was my grandchildren's Aunt that passed on and out of respect...Greg/Mel and I would have been at the viewing... enough of that..it's another day today...

Not sure where today will bring me..probably just enjoying the day and working on Christmas gifts...still have a quilted sweater to finish and a cardigan so depending on my creative mood, who knows...

Liz..hope you find more stined glass materials and equipment...of course, maybe you can even hide that table you wanted to take home last week amonst the dolls...lol...your house looks beautiful...not time for me to decorate for Halloween as our Thanksgiving is Oct.8th so decorate for fall first then I add the Halloween decorations...hope you and kitties anjoy your day with inlaws...

Coffee brewing...off I go..

Morning sweeite....lucky to have found that infection..my goodness, no wonder you were down...(now that sounds strange..almost a pun wonder down under)lol...

You will enjoy learning the basics of stained glass, and remember I'm here if you need help..don't you worry about the postage..actually it was funny, when I sent out the Christmas balls, guess because the box was slightly a little heavier in make than yours, it cost more to sind some of the California balls than it did for Australia..so lot has to do in the packaging... so glad that you enjoyed your weekend with the family and that you were spoilt and got to rest..you'll start your workday with a smile....do they give you attitude for the time you've been off recently? hope not..sometimes when companies do so here, a doctors note clears it up in a hurry....hi to DH and family..a parcel should be there thiis week I'm sure....
