tropicana, you mean on the weekend? we stayed and kept fil company he cant go anywhere it kills him to walk long distance he is going to a specialist on the 10th so we worked on the bank cutting back flowers and topping tree's dying in the heat would of liked to do more but i felt guilty there both 71 and i felt i should help out maby another time:(
i was out with my boss today and saw that pretty pink plant you posted at lucky's grocery store i blurted out oh thats the one tropicana had she looked at me and said who's tropicana i said nevermind it went over your head lol she dosnt get dg and your yard i'd love to pull uo a chair by the kitty and sit and contemplate just so peaceful to look at,i remember george clinton i remember they used his song in that movie (what was it called ....good burger?) cant remember

betty i was dissapointed cousin didnt go but theres next time, no i dont collect dolls omg the glass he gave me was a dark green ,deep orangel and then a orange with a swirl and a green that had a pattern and some frosted clear so i repackaged it put the loose peices in tubs and put it away.
omg never give a gemini anything brain went on overload i want to make a pumpkin with a nasty black cat hissing out lined in dark purple glass and a full moon im going to present this to fil this weekend i hope he dosnt want me to make something eaiser.
this reminds me of when i was young i took piano lessons i must of been 16 i told my austrian teacher that i didnt like her choice in the music she picked she told me ok you go pick out a tune that you want to learn,so i did it was chopin' polonaise in a flat when i gave her this she looked at me and said are you crazy even i cant play like this but i admire your spunk , i have a hunch its going to be another pick something a little easier weekend :( we were convinced they reset the machines for the weekend oh and i hope you got all the burnt smell out nothing worse han burning a pot yuck

worst: a friend of my boss and myself she had lost her mother two saturdays ago they went to new york to bury her, her husband gave a lovely speech on the mil behalf one week later he died in bed this sat they found he had a bleeding pancreas and he had a enlarged heart they have two little ones such sadness twice to hit one family

my boss called me into her office today as i emailed her with a solution the our problem. she would not accept it. sigh....
so, i had emailed the government department that takes care of equal opportunity and they called me today and said the director would like to take on my case. so, they cant say i havnt tried and if i have to go down, i go down fighting i guess. it didnt have to be thatway tho. came home with a sore throat again.... doh!

well, thats life eh?

Not good Laura..the post with regards to the mirrors, did it make any sense to you..if you think it's too difficult and the mirrors aren't tooooo large, trace the outline of the mirror on paper and sent it to me..I'll come up with something else..lol well let's hope that you get some satisfaction with regards to your work situation...is there not another department you could work in where you would get another boss? Hope you are feeling better....

Thunder/lightning and rain..all night..still ongoing..we sure did need it though..calling for high temps tomorrow and let's hope for the weekend..BIL was doing his schedule and went right past Friday..omg..maybe it's work today and tomorrow and off again...just sooo excited...Sailor is taking fits here..she's so frightened of the thunder..hate leaving her when it's a day of much the same..she'll find something to get under..feels more protected I guess...

Liz....beautiful dolls..lucky you..now the photo's were they of your home or your inlaws..looks very victorian..love it! I try to stick with French Country but tend to want to drift off into victorian.....how sad about your friends family..will include them in my prayers...

Morning..wow, all the nuts were out on the roads this morning..accidents/accidents..I just got in..makes for 1 hr. shorter day..BIL just said he can't wait to find out about his offer..would cut all this travelling in 1/2...the appraisors were waiting for owner to open the building so they can access it, but, owner was on vacation so now where we thought we'd have an answer today, might not be till Monday..shucks....sure wish we knew...

Picked up SIL this morning, she drives my car in the odd day..anyway just 3 doors from her was an almost new white wicker chair sitting for garbage p.u. we'll you know who picked it up..lol...

Hasn't rained much here in the city but sky is black so would imagine shortly it will be raining..calling for 30's tomorrow and Friday...

Love your house Liz...wish you lived closer...oh what fun we'd have decorating and making country items...quilt is beautiful...and you say you don't collect dolls!!!! Take a look at those beauties..guess I'd be ok if mom had that size but can't see myself with all those 3 and 4 yr. old replica's...yuk...

Past furniture place down the street today and see they have a tent set up with couches..should drop in and see what they have to offer....

Well I'm taking out my christmas balls this morning for sure...wanted to finish them yesterday but was just plain lazy...today is the day!!!!!

Well, it's official..back working Fridays...Paul just booked an appt. at 10am so guess we're back..had hoped just 1 more week to give us a 3 day workweek..oh well..knew it was coming..lol...but disappointed non-the-less....

never mind betty.

i am still looking for another job either there or elsewhere, hard to find at my age tho.
the only avenue left is the equal opportunity board of the government. they called after i emailed and want to take up the case. it will take 8 weeks for them to do so. hopefully in that time something else will come up and i can move on.

looks like a sunny day out...mmmmm sunshine... love it!

You sound as though you are in a better frame of mind Laura..maybe the board can do something for you! Do they know that you've contacted them? Taking one day at a time...that's my girl!

Just got home..looking at the refrigerator, stove, then looking outside a few doors down..".is that place with the pretty sign called a 'restaurant' hhmmm" ...would save me cooking or burning right? lol...wonder, which one will win out!

Want to do something tonight but not sure what..perhaps I can paint a little design on the piece of wood I painted with blackboard paint..freehand something..should be easy enough...

Everyone around me has had that virus and I keep going but tired more than usual..so, with that I'm going to say goodnight all!!!

Best...helping Monique..appt. this aft. Her husband gambled away everything they had..they were married 23 years..he left her holding the bag..went bankrupt (not with us) and left her..everything that was in both names, now falls on her shoulders..she broke down and when leaving felt so much better to have us looking after everything for her..all she now can show for her years of marriage is a 1999 car that her hubby let her have and $1,500 for 1st and last month rent on appt. How very tragic...

Worse...bumper to bumper traffic getting to work this morning almost 1 hr. late...and of course..back to working 1/2 days on Friday..yuk

What did I learn...hmmm, oh yes, somebody sent me the following:

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where you could read it every day...You may not realize it, but it's 100% true!!!

worst: the girl who lost her mother and husband, well the boss and i and two other people went to desiree's house after work and cleaned it for her packed up the rooms in boxes, omg she was by far the hostess with the most clutter,
so now there will be room for all the people on sat(after the funeral) she is handeling it very well, but there were two gals from new york and one from florida and a couple family members omg not a one bothered to pick up and help do anything they just sat around and said oh how nice its like merry maids oh girls your doing a great job...(really) im sure the boss and myself will be grinding on this tomorrow.

Betty, you always seem to post words of wisdom when they are needed most! I'm sitting here this morning drinking my coffee and watching the TODAY show and feeling totally unmotivated for anything. I know it's from the job situation - or lack there of. I've got 6 weeks from today left on my "redeployment" - then I'm severed from the company if I haven't found a new position. I actually think my anxiety is more from what I know my DH is probably feeling then from me being afraid not to have a job. I could do this full time but the salary I bring home is too much to cut from our income. Even half if it would hurt. I guess we're not ready to give up the yearly beach vacations and "perks" we get with 2 incomes.

Anyway, I need to motivate myself! I'd like to go over to the botanical gardens. This is twofold: I need to look up plants in my class so I will be prepared for the test on Monday and I'd like to just walk around the gardens. I've got two purse patterns I bought fabric for plus about 10 quilts I could work on. I could clean the house. I could garden. I could go walking. I need to buy a new zipper for a pair of shorts of mine.

I get little spurts of motivation! I reorganized my spice cabinet yesterday. I was tired of all these herbs and spices falling on my head every time I opened it! That took all of 15 mins! HA! Maybe I'll change the sheets......or lay on the couch and watch my stories!!!

Laura...they are beautiful..wonderful way to use up left over glass...do you purchase the actual butterfly body? Have a couple (bodies) purchased to do butterflies for garden stick-ins..forgot all about them...that's wonderful..do something for you..you'll always find the money..if it was for someone else you would, so why not for you..you'll enjoy..when is your 1st class...don't worry about the job today..just enjoy...


Jeannine...loved the photo's..omg what a place..and to have your family with you..now that was a trip of a lifetime! Maybe we should challenge ourselves, make a list of to do's and each can monitor each other's progress...NOT!!! ....Imagine..I made up my Christmas list yesterday..it's a coming..will start this weekend to get serious about shopping...you'll find something, with your personality it will come easy..just don't jump at something that totally doesn't interest you just to bring in an income..find something you WILL be motivated doing...listen to old grandma here....lol

Tomorrow afternoon on my way home from work I'm going to register for fall decorative painting classes..it's not so much that I can't do them on my own, because I can, it's going out with friends, having something to eat..attending classes..laughing..just the social aspect of it...so will let you know what I sign up for..know one of them is the American Eagle..another Victorian Santa..better finish those sitting on my craft table and get them posted...but always lots to choose from...

Just wanted to stop in and say many thanks for all the mail and good wishes. Few small bones broken...some in left foot and right wrist....only hairline fractures in wrist. Bruised ribs, large "egg" on right temple (think Mrs PotatoHead), etc.....healing well...just very hard to sit and type and worst is being bored out of my skull. Never in a million years thought I'd miss work so much...yes, I am that bored.

Skimmed posts as best I could, you prolific bunch, you. Liz, do have you on seed list and added Betty earlier. So as soon as I can package and mail (hopefully, next couple of weeks), just store through the winter and next spring, sow where you want them to grow.

Will post a list of receipients before mailing. Have plenty for all......

Just got home..terrible accident again tonight on Southbound Hwy.400...transport completely demolished..if he still is alive I'd say he was travelling with the Lord sitting next to him for sure...although we were travelling Northbound, they had to close off most of our lanes in order to work on the s. lane....bumper to bumper for about 20miles..everyone out of their cars..one of the hotest/humid days we've had..they'll be there for hours..prayers for this poor trucker and his family are needed I'm sure...

Got home and Greg/Mel and the boys dropped in...playing baseball at the corner community center...gave them treat money..said they love their new teachers..well maybe they didn't say 'love' lol...

Had a large salad at 'Mucho Burrito's' so not very hungry..think a soothing bath and a call to girlfriends re....decorative painting open house registration tomorrow plans...if I had any money left..know that's were I'll spend the rest of it...always something..but if I don't treat myself, who will....I know, I know...many do...just kidding....

Talk later before I settle in for the night...feels like a storm is brewing...Sailor is restless...hmmm and my budgie is just a twirping....

Well, it's that time of night..doesn't seem as though I can stay up past 9pm..lol..SIL and I will leave a little earlier and go out for breakfast when we get to the city...I'll leave my vehicle in Barrie so that on my way home I can travel to the open house...

Quiet weekend I think..will try and pick up another mirror closet door though...I absolutely have no idea what I'll do when I completely renovate this place..start over I guess...

Best...SIL was in such a good humour..we had so many laughs on the way home...took us almost double the time with all the accidents! Told her 'wouldn't you rather be us, sitting here in the traffic, or those poor folks in the accident...' she doesn't make fun of my beliefs as she believes in the Lord as well...but I had Joel Olsteen on my computer most of the day and she just shakes her head..says it's tooooo much...know she's only joking though...

Worse...not really any 'worse', my heart though goes out to the trucker's family and to the family of others involved...

What did I learn today...that although I try and give good advice (best I know how to give) my sister remains in a deep depression...she has what one would call a mansion..wonderful income..nice family..she's on her own, but she can't seem to dig herself out of the deep black hole...as much as I want to help her, she has to at some point make the initiative to help herself...always saying, "it's ok for you, you are social, have sooo many friends..I'm all alone, no friends..." you have to want to be a friend to have a friend...nobody is going to knock on her door and say 'hello, I want to be your friend'..just not sure where to turn...maybe tomorrow she'll hear what I have to say!

So, for those of you not feeling good, hope tomorrow's a better day!
for those of you seeking jobs..hope you get a call offering you the best of them...for those of you who are sad, know we love you..know we are here for you...

Thanks, all, for the nice words on my granddaughter and me . . . I'm a bit prejudiced, but sure do think she's beautiful!!

DD is well aware that her depression is beyond the normal variety . . . her DH is really making me angry, though I normally enjoy him a lot. I am biting my tongue to keep from asking him where he comes off thinking he is God, or even a medical expert!!! DD did sound a bit better today, but said her anti-depressants seem to be upsetting the baby and that's no good, of course. Sigh . . . how nice it would be to not have anything to worry about for a change . . . even for one day . . . I know you can ALL relate!!

Tangie, I keep thinking about you - I am so sorry you had such a horrible fall . . . please give yourself plenty of time to recuperate!

there have been alot of accidents there oh how awful about the trucker and to have lived through it he was lucky have you heard what caused it yet?
poor kenny on his way home said they closed three streets down another person got run over by the train, and the two fires have covered the bay area in a cloud of smoky ashes we were not affected as bad as others but you could see on black cars the tiny ashes. just dont know anymore to much tragedy going on everywhere.

worst: bost told me today we have to go to san jose to clean up another store two days next week they fired the manager there, gosh are we the only ones who follow the rules:(

Morning All,

Well, I finally perked up a little yesterday. That is to say, I got off my duff and was productive! I went to the fabric store and bought a new zipper for my shorts. If course, it was too big (7" vs. 6") but I made it work! Shorts are now fixed. I also got really motivated and cleaned my 10 yr old DS's room. YUCK! I gingerly straigthened my 12 yr DD's room - lest I touch anything I shouldn't! Changed sheets for both. Cut out the fabric for a new purse I am making with some batik fabrics I bought. I forgot the lining fabric so I need to hit the store again for that. After all of that, I hit the sofa and snoozed!! ;-)



Last night we had to take our boat down to a guy to do dome repair welding for us. I decided to take Murphy w/ us since his mama lives down in that direction. So after seeing the welding guy, we went by to visit Murphy's mom and grandma AND sister! He had a blast! His sister is smaller and a little darker then Murphy. Her name is "Snitch". The pic below is all four of them: Grandma, Mom, sister and Murphy. Murphy is to the far left. 'grandma' is at the bottom, sis in the middle and mom in front of Murphy. Mom but Murphy in his place. She is in season right now and he got his first experience with those "female smells" and mama did not like his nose in her butt! You would have thought she had ripped his face off the way he cried! He was probably saying "what'd I do", what's I do?" It was hilarious!! He didn't stick his nose ANYWHERE after that!!

Well, I'm stuck at home today because our truck started making some weird noise last night as we hauled the boat. It sounds like something in the transmission which is obviously not good. They can't look at it until Monday so I'm stuck without a car until DH comes home after work. I guess it's 'clean the house' day!! BLAAAAH!

Hope your vehicle repair is minor and not what you are thinking..transmission are soooo expensive...your purse...is it a compartment wallet? Several years ago I made them for all the girls for Xmas...should try and find it..perhaps it's something you'd like to try....change purse on outside, credit card section...bill section..etc... I'll look if you think it's not same as what you are doing...

1st. Friday working from the office since summer started..we're not wearing smiles...perhaps when the clock chimes 1pm..it will be a different matter..it's so hot and muggy outside..calling for rain later..hope not till late this evening..after registration for painting trompe l'oeil classes I'm hoping to get all the grass cut so I have an easy weekend...

Back to final touches on christmas ball decorations that I'm sending out..didn't see you address come in for getting some???? perhaps you don't put up a tree????
