Victor, good luck on the sweat offensive!
No offense meant!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Very nice dahlia Kass. My colors and a LC - can't beat that. Looks like you have some trade bait for me :)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love the cleomes.... have to get me some of those

:)

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

I am so glad you looked at the dahlia... and I would love the name...so I can make a tag.... and be able to buy another one....

Beautiful photos, Kassia, and that dahlia with those great purple tips is wonderful. It should give you extra tubers for next year so you can have more than one of them.

Here's the photo showing, in the center, our very first hybrid, DonnieBrook.

Kassia,

Did you give away those sedum at your June R-U? Because I got some from the R-U that looked JUST like that and is blooming now... Thanks for the cleome picture, you just ID'd one of my wintersown NOIDs!

Seandor, you can come get those dahlias any day now!!! They look like weeds,, very few blooms, and ray was weeding one the other day and accidentally pulled up the dahlia tuber instead of a weed.

Thanks for the kind words about my DD's rose shot, and the lovely daddy-long-legs spider photo.

I love all of the photo blooms I have looked at this morning, and bow to those who have such green thumbs! I hope and pray that our gardens will look as lovely as yours and that our blooms planted this year will multiply grandly for next year!!

Can you tell I'm already looking forward to Spring?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I'm looking forward to seeing the JI's I haven't yet planted in bloom next June!

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

I have some JIs coming in the mail that I'm looking forward to seeing. :)

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Kassia - lovely photos! Nice variety of pretty blooms!

Pirl - your hybrid is very pretty! And I love how you showcased some of your pretty blooms in such a classy presentation. Great idea! Thanks for going to the trouble to find it!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

...wait... what's a JI?

Hi... Carrie, I didn't give away sedun.... that one was a gift from Laura last year... it has grown 4 times already... really a great plant... I got some sedum at the RU also and they are also growing...

Thanks everyone!!!!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Pirl - It is amazing you named your first hybrid DonnieBrook - what a coincidence ;)

Kass - where did you order your dahlias from this year? I'll try to ID it for you.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Don't blow it for me, Al........I was really touched that Pirl renamed her hybrid for me! LOL

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

JI = Jack-o Illuminations?
= Jackson Iollack? Jackson Iowne? Jonquil Iolanthe?

feeling dumb and dumber,

Al - you missed the comma! The actual name I use in my own garden for it is 'Betty's Corn Pudding'.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oh Shoot, Pirl...........you mean I have to make my own hybrid and name it after myself?????

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, you have to name it after Pirl!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oh, I guess that does make some sense, Victor. ....bummer....... I always wanted to be a narcissist....I just like spelling it and saying it. Feels like another fire might be in order in the morning.....pretty chilly here tonight. But it is so dry, my hydrangea bush was all shriveled up
this afternoon - and so are the heliopsis. Sad.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I've been watering. We really need a good soaking.

You can always plant lots of Narcissus.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Afternoons are when hydrangeas wilt the most anyhow, DB. Go out with a flashlight and check it now and let us know how it looks.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Narcissism aside, Pirl.......I sort of like the sound of Pirl......it's growing on me...no pun intended....goodnight all!

DB - I did name one of ours Pirl's Pink Eyes, though there's just one eye per flower.

Victor - nice shot. Reminds me of allium heads.

Pirl's Pink Eyes is beautiful!!!! Oh thats a gorgeous shade of pink and the eye and edge is heavenly!!!

Victor, nice night shots! I really like that Asclepias and a little shocked you own something that color.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Celeste. Yes - I do break my rules from time to time! They're good for the butterflies. Also, it's the perfect color match to the NY Mets orange.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

DD boyfriend is a huge Mets fan, got him a bunch of Met's things for Christmas for his 'shrine' he has growing in their apt. DD ought to love me for giving her move nic-nacs to dust!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Victor - the aralia is a nice night shot.

Pirl - here's my coleus pot this year.

Thanks Al. Nice Coleus combo. I'm liking Coleus more and more with so many new varieties, including ones that take a lot of sun. Anyone take cuttings and propagate them?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, Victor.

Great job, Al. Love how they blend into each other.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Pirl, do you root them in water or go directly to soil? What temps do they need for that?
