What's Blooming? #13

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Excellent photos Allison!

I was outside watering this morning (no rain for the last four days), and here's
a little critter that was out getting his (or her) morning drink of dew.

My DD, Anna, just loves this close-up of our 'Memorial Day' Rose. She says she wants to use it as the background on her work computer.

Can you tell I'm still practicing with my macro? LOL!
The light was just right this morning to show the true colors on the rose, and I just couldn't resist getting in real close.

Nice shot Candyce! Just his size of a dew drop huh?

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It certainly seemed so. What a wonderful treat for me to capture the shot!

'Traumatic' Dave?! Hope you've recovered. Back on the horse! How tall is your waterfall?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

This per sunflower is about 8 feet tall and just started to floop.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Nice shots, Candyce......it is not easy to capture those guys, and Anna's Memorial Day must be stunning....

Great shots from you also, Dave. I love your Jack shot and your waterfall and Cardinalis are soooooo pretty! I could hear the water falling as I looked at that shot.

Celeste and Victor......as usual your repartee brings a smile!

Here's a just-picked vase of glads, hydrangea, BE Susans, heliopsis and ferns......

Very pretty, Louise - the arrangement and the photo. Repartee - wow, sounds impressive.

Yes, Dave knows Jack shot.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Victor.....here's one more little vase of red and white........one of my favorite color combinations ever since I read e e cummings poem about a red wheelbarrow near white chickens after a rain storm......or something like that.......it's the image that stuck with me!

i think i read that

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

nice shots candyce

dave your love lies bleeding looks to have taken on a life of it's own

pixie that wife's plant is beautiful!

DB the arrangements are great

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Well, I just realized that I attributed that poem to the wrong poet. It wasn't by cummings; it was written by William Carlos Williams, and I just found it:

"so much depends
upon

a red wheel
barrow

glazed with rain
water

beside the white
chickens"

Now isn't that a nice image, even if I had the wrong writer??!

Allison - thanks!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh good! Hate using all lower case. Guess I didn't read it after all. But it's nice.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Victor - it's still in all lower case.......but I agree with you.....it especially bugs me to write someone's name in lower case......guess it feels disrespectful to me for some reason..... probably could use a shrink on that one! LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I discussed this a number of months back - I cannot bring myself to use the text shortcuts, abbreviations and 'netiquette'. It's regular English for me.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

.........and floppy not floopy?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I C where U R coming from, Victor. There's a whole genRation that won't know how to spell!

xx, C

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

'Floopy' is a special exception!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

but we did discuss e. e. cummings some months ago. Not for the G-rated DG. He was being confused with Archie and Mehitibel. (sp?)

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I think I coined the word floopy, I've misspelled floppy so many times, just because the p and the o are next to each other. Are you folks picin on mi?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No Pirl has the trademark on 'floopy'. And the patent on umbrella hats and miner lights too.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I think Pirl might have gotten floopy from me though. The umbrella hats, and miners lights are definitely hers. I won't fight her for floopy, however.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, it might get sloopy.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

so hang on!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good one Al.
