Pixie - the wings come off but the leg doesn't. They look the same except for the color. I think the mold form that they came from is the same but painted differently. Eleanor

Tried that too. Got a refund. Boy, your deer are easy!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

shaving irish spring soap around the plants helped too... downside is you have to apply every time it rains.... I have some in a cheese grater with a crank

:)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Mine would end up being the nicest smelling deer around.

Whitehall, PA(Zone 6a)

Sorry Pixie! I love YOUR canna & would love more pics. :-)

Boojum- Really great pics today! I loved them all! Is 'bebop' a rose? I am fascinated by the passifloras, how many do you have and how do you store them for winter?

Dave- LOL

Grammy- I forgot to mention what an adorable fairy gathering you have there! Where do you find them? My sister is a fairy lover and one of those girls would make a really nice Christmas gift.

Sorry to be a bother about this, but does anyone remember posting that planting combo photo with the dark purple zinnias I mentioned before? I remember who(m?)ever posted it saying something like "I love this combo, have to remember it for next year"

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

HI boojum.... how are you??? oh I love the passiflora vines.... really great looking!!!
Do you have that brug planted on a pot???really great looking!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

aspenbooboo - I got the fairies at lawnornamentsandfountains.com. I just checked the site and they only carry the sitting fairy with the knee up now. There were 4 fairies that I ordered in that collection and the fourth did not not come in but they refunded my money. Came from China - don't let kids chew on them!! You can also google fairy garden ornaments and see if you can find them some other place.
Love the colors in your sky pic boojum!! Eleanor

Very nice photos, boo.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Such great photos from everyone! My garden is beginning to wind down, although the mums are looking promising for some fall color. Can you believe that the Magic Dawn daylily is still giving a bloom or two? They are a bit smaller, though, than the first ones.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

My retriever needs a lot of combing, I save them and put them around the plants deer seem to go after, have not had any problems since, also I take a bar of soap, usually Ivory, drill a hole in it and hang with a string on the shrubs

Hi all,
Well back to work and I'm already totally overwhelmed. Hope I can ever take pics again (leave too early, get home when everything is fried). Anyway, I have 3 passifloras (last year I had one). They will come in for the winter as well as the brug in pots. I put the pots in the garden in the summer.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

I got a fairy today from a neighbor. I named her Petals. There is a LONG story that goes with Petals but I won't post the whole story.
Petals is new to me but she's quite old and has withstood many rainstorms, snow storms, dirt and mold.
I brought her home and gave her a warm sudsy bath with my "special" cleaning solution. She's MUCH happier now and sleeping soundly.
She didn't even know anyone cared about her until today and from today forward she will be admired and cherished daily.
She's a very big girl and has a cracked wing, hole in her foot and peeling paint.....she's Perfect in my eyes :)

boojum,
how do you get your 'peach lanai' to grow so nicely? I bought the same plant and it sort of rotted away. your flowers are awful purty! i lost track of which thread I'm on - jeez, you leave town for a few days and everything changes.

Kim - all of the angels that I've known in my life have had just enough flaws to give them wisdom and empathy.........yours is in good company. I think she's lovely!

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Louise, what a sweet thing to say. You sure have a way with words. She was a gift from an angel today and I am grateful that she was bestowed upon me :)

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Kim - love the fairy. She is beautiful. Eleanor

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Kim, I have to get one, do not have anything but an angel

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

I went outside this morning to have coffee on my back deck and there she was sleeping in my garden. I said to hubby "did you ever think she would be "home" with us?". For years I have admired her from my car when we would drive by and I'm still in awe that she now adorns my garden. She looks so happy here and I feel so blessed.

Thank you to those who also admire her as she has gone a LONG time without being appreciated :)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

She is precious Kim. Very unique, I love her. You are very fortunate to have been able to adopt her.

A few things from my new bed out back.

First an echinacea, if you only get one of the new ones, get this one. It just keeps getting better and better. Coconut Lime.

I simply love those 2 colors together! Striking.
Meant to tell you Ngam, not really a "conehead" myself but that sure is a cute one :)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Ngam, what is your lovely climbing rose climbing on? My DH built a handsome trellis for ours 2 years ago and we had NO IDEA how much climbing there would be!!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

ngam, love your delphiniums and yours too onewish, I seem to have a hard time growing them, feed them water them and then they just decide to be too tired to keep blooming and simply wilt :-(

Edited to say, my mother grew them to be at least 8 feet tall, I allways thought it was because of the cool weather there but I guess this is not considering what we have here
