Nice Nancy. Did you sample the border color from the flower?
Great job, Nancy. I use Paint Shop Pro myself. Maybe I'll even work on some photos for a NEG Gallery, if we decide to ever create a thread like that.
She is b a c k!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone, hope you don't mind rejoining the yackety-yack crowd from the NE??
The state of Washington is as beautiful as ever and so is eweeds garden. I had a wonderful time with the dearest friends I have, was even driven to see Vancouver, Canada a very modern city with tons of sky scrapers, I think the want ed to compete with NYC, lol
Here some pictures of eweeds Garden beauties starting off with his tomatoes
bye for now :-))))
Welcome back Maria and thanks for sharing those beautiful photos.
Looks great Maria! One for each of us - a yummy lunch!
I NEED a tomato! Now! Maybe on white bread with mayo, a little salt and pepper. I might add cucumber slices to the second sandwich. And after that, some tomato slices in a bowl with Ken's Italian dressing. Then for dessert another tomato, sliced into wedges, and a small bowl of sugar to dip them into before stuffing my mouth. Mmmmmm!
Thanks Kassia, Al and Candyce. Yes, Al, the border color was pulled out of the rose. And the drop-shadow is some of what I remember from prew.
Maria, you are soooo lucky! I grew up in Vancouver - my favourite city in the world (after York, England)
Yes Seadnor I am very lucky to have such wonderful friends in WA, they live only 20 minutes from the Canadian border and an hour ride to Vancouver but I also spent quite some time in York, England, I must admit I prefer that old, old city to the new one though it is a stunning, modern city with hundreds of sky scrapers.
Here are some pictures just for you and who ever might enjoy looking at them
OH Maria welcome back!!!!!! sooo good to hear from you!!!! I missed you!!!!! we need to get together!!!!
In your picture looking down an ally, you are looking across Burrard Inlet to the North Shore, where the cities of West Vancouver (very affluent), North Vancouver, and District of North Vancouver are. That's where I grew up. Thanks for the pictures . . . reminds me of home.
It was soooo amazing being in York - we even have a bit of the Minster (bits of the rockwork that were being replaced were sold to raise funds for Minster maintenance).
To grow up in a city where the oldest building might be 100 years old, then visit a city were buildings have existed for a millenium is astonishing . . . having dinner in pubs that existed before Columbus bumped into the New World . . . and going under the Minister to experience the original Roman city where Constantine was declared emperor . . .
We stayed at the Youth Hostel at the old Rowntree Estate (Rowntree chocolates) located in Clifton Green, a neighbourhood north of the Shambles. You walk into town on a path along the edge of the river Ouse. I have stayed there three times. Started to feel like a summer home . . .
If I start saving now, DH and I should be able to return to England in 2010.
Seandor, I hope you will get back to York and am glad you enjoyed photos of Vancouver.
I don't remember the name of the bed and breakfast places we stayed but will always remember the Minister and all its Roman ancestry. I am an anglophile to beginn with, that includes Scotland and Wales. I am so very glad I did a lot of traveling when I was younger, now I get a lot more tired from it. :-((
Still trying to get over the jetlag, it is such a pain to get changed over, don't even like going back to ST time or the other way around
Thanks all for your welcome
Maria
Terrific that you are back safe and sound, Maria. I love the 'tourist' photos.
I think I will buy a lottery ticket - the prize is quite big I understand. If we win, we would almost have enough to live in England - my lord, it is expensive there!
thank you Candyce, good to see all of here again but do not like the weather as much as I did in WA
It would be nice to win all that money from the lottery, SeandorI have not played it for years, of course they say if you don't play how can you win, lol Years ago I played but had one digit wrong, a 24 instead of a 25, would have won 6 million dollars, instead they only doled out $400.00
Well, I suppose $400 is better than nothing - but what a heart-breaker. I buy about five lottery tickets a year. One buck's worth of dreams and a chance to make someone else rich . . . :-)
My brother had five of the six winning numbers one year. He had the sixth number in the second game! Instead of 1.5 Million, he got all of $616, just over the $600 threshold where you have to declare for taxes.
Ah . . . . well the prizes are bigger in the US - but state run lotteries are tax free in Canada.
Waiting for newsletter. Paper boy is late. Did we out talk the gamers or not. Tap,tap, tap. . .
