I spent my life on a diet, and just decided to "be me" a few years ago after some surgery....figured I'm a grandma - its okay to look like a grandma. Ha! Saw a picture of me taken at a party a week or so ago, and like that old lady that tends to follow some of us (who shall remain nameless....tee hee), I gasped "What goodyear blimp stole my face"?? Gotta be more careful...don't want Ahab and the Spearfishermen to come after me yellin "Thar she blows!!!".
Underwater Gardens #4
LOL. Gonna post that pic? hehehe.
Don't be silly...you are so attractive to me and katie no matter what!!! JB is a lucky man...as lucky as me!!!
Do you really think I am that stupid Pep??? Thought you knew me better than that by now! Don't want to spoil any of those great sounding meals. And don't pick on meat loaf sandwiches....they are great!
John my darlin....you just earned some more hugs.....Oh Kaaaaattie....hug your man!!!!
LOL. Who said anything about meat loaf? Not me!! 'Sides, I LOVE meat loaf!!!
Shari, the picture of you and your husband for your orchid article looked fine!
Don't be so hard on yourself!
I agree! The pic was great!
Katie would love to hug me right now but she is in the kitchen whipping up some beef, bean, and cheese burritos and if you can't join us for deener, well amigos, so sorritos.....ok pep, this you can lol to!
Zany was complaining about the meat loaf. Heya 77**! That pic is a few years old...almost 4....it was just my fave, so that's what I put on my bio. Dave was picky - wanted a bio of all the writers....I dearly love that picture. Jb and I have been in some of the most romantic places on earth, but everytime we take a picture something went wrong. That is a studio pic that our Nina had taken just before Jb came out here, then she photoshop'd the background in. One of our favorite places - the Alhambra in Spain...some of the most beautiful flower gardens I have ever seen!
John...I rarely really laugh out loud, but you definately had me with that! Pepper - John gotcha!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Still a nice picture......All of the travelling sounds great!!
Ours was limited to Hawaii. When Dad went to Thailand and my ex went to Japan it was unaccompanied, so they got to go and Mom and family stayed home in NC!
Good ole Marine Corps. That's why we have such fond memories of Hawaii....
We need some underwater photos! Food, ole times, nothing like a good dive with y'all to lighten the spirits! Smile!
What a gorgeous turtle! Boy, neither of us hesitated a bit, did we John? Ask and you shall receive!
LOL. Sorry John, you are gonna have to put up with those. I always laugh. Can't help it. Even some guys at work will tell you that. They ask me all the time what I am laughing at and it is usually something that looks funny.
Love the pics!

What is actually in meat loaf? !!
LOL Terri - are you serious?!?! You don't do meat loaf? I have about 40 different kinds that my husband refuses to choose a favorite from!
Baked mince...with assorted bits of anything you find in the fridge....sometimes topped with a tomato paste before baking....great with mash...minus the bangers
We use hamburger, crackers, BBQ sauce, katchup, eggs, bell peppers, onions, and probably a few other things. Varies everytime.
Sorry but YUK! I'm vegetarian. ha ha!
Any meat that can be ground, I have recipes for pork, chicken, salmon, beef, lamb....a mixture is usually best. Stuffed with mashed potatoes, or mushrooms, some are served with a brown gravy, some with a tomato based sauce.....if you are really interested, I'm sure we can all come up with a favorite version or two to help you get started....but watch out! They are good eats, and addictive!
Well silly ! Then why were you asking about meat loaf? Meat being the main ingredient?
I was just wondering how it was made and what was in it , I imagined layered like lasagne
Nope! No layers!! Just throw it all together!
lol that turtle would probably like meatloaf. I like it too but made way too much and am sick of it on day three it is worse than trying to finish off a turkey after Thanksgiving
Is that the sea turtle that gets to be several hundred years old?
Actually I do have a layered one that I make occasionally...but if you are vegetarian, we won't go there.
And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
Squish all the ingredients together in a big pan and bake. It was originally made to stretch meat to serve large families by using eggs and bred crumbs as fillers. And there are vegetarian versions out there made with soy protien that I actually thought tasted pretty good. It was a big thing during the depression. It ranges from hot and spicy to mild and boring depending on what you add to it.
I see a sea turtle and a sea turtle at sea can see the sea better than me but can a sea turtle sing a song in the key of C? If so he's a better singer than me. But he can't make a meat loaf.
Twas a zany musing by Zanymuse....:-))
Thankyou Zanymuse, we don't have meatloaf as a dish here, but it sounds the same thing as stew really.
Zany is just Zany.
Waaaay Cooool John! Are those an idol of some sort? I don't recognize them.
a what?
not sure what an idol is....these are a mating pair of grey angelfish i shot years ago on film....swam almost straight at the lens...i have the original slide blown up to 20X30 in our living room....giant barrel sponge there too...i could fit inside of it...not that i did though....
At first glance they did not look like REAL fish.......
OHG. All I have to do is take a break to eat the lasagna and salad and you guys go nuts.
Obvious that the tension has broken......hallelujah. Sorry, terri, but meat loaf is nothing like stew.....which is another favorite. Here, in the states, we call these dishes comfort foods. Always a good glop of mashed potatoes on the side. I prefer next day meatloaf.....very fresh, soft white bread with lots of Hellmans mayonaise with healthy slices of...ta...da....meatloaf......made with 1# ground beef....not too lean, 1# ground veal, and 1# lean ground sirloin steak. 2 eggs, 1 cup steel rolled oats, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, 1 can Campbell's vegetable soup (condensed)....salt and pepper to taste. make into 2 individual loaves and cover with ketchup....bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until totally done.......let sit for about 20 minutes before slicing. Then the best......refrigerate leftovers and use to make cold sandwiches following day. DH has been substituting the oats with Honey Baked Cereal that is very sweet.....not bad at all.
Another break to just type on the present subject and you have left me behind again.........
